I usually like the gastro ones from McCain's but they are quite pricey

On the hunt for some alternatives for a cheeky mid week easy dinner

I like the tesco homestyle ones. Kids like the fries which have the advantage of being quick.

They're nice too

The Lidl skin on fries. Only £1.39 too, and the best frozen chips I've tried.

Have actually discovered cooking my own is super easy!
chop potatoes into chip shapes, no need to peel. Dry in a tee towel, sprinkle with salt, bung in a pan 1/ 2 full of hot oil. You know it’s hot enough when a tiny bit of poatatoe floats to the top.
when soft/ golden scoop into sieve, shake over oil pan, bung onto clean te towel or paper towel.
my family are amazed at how nice they are,
im amazed at how easy- and cheap- they are.

Oh and they keep 3 days or so in the fridge, or freeze, just air fry.

Wbeezer · 21/04/2024 17:45

I buy Lidl skin on fries, work well in the airfryer

Lidl triple cooked beef dripping.

I like McCain Homestyle, but I'd happily eat Morrisons or Aldi own brand chunky oven chips. I'm not so keen on skinny chips.

Skin on fries from Lidl or Aldi. Or wedges are good too.
