Tidy up shithole house weekend pics included

I have been posting for a while now about my house being a shithole and trying to get on top of it,

Me and my family have been through alot. That has lasted years there's practically been no rest from it one thing after another. Its been absolutely hell. To the extent i could not even bath/shower on a regular basis. I had no support and was coping with everything alone its been awful. It gos pretty deep .

But things are getting better. But because its been so long my mind /emotions find it hard to believe. So I'm trying to get myself into a better mindset.

One of them things is to get my house clean and tidy and for it to feel nice to be in. I have done alot. But I also keep slipping backwards. So although it's better than one I first started I'm stuck because I keep slipping back.

I add shame photos because it pushes me to get it done and that's how I feel just now because I have basicly fucked up since Christmas and I'm angry for slipping backwards.

The picture of the really bad small room is a spare room . It's crap from my children's bedroom when I decorated it. I dumped crap in the spare room .

Im very good at throwing things down the stairs 😂. You could put it in a couple of bin bags, tie them up then throw them down to save having to tramp up and down the stairs multiple times.
What you need to remember is that most people’s houses look messy most of the time. What you see on Instagram isn’t real life. It’s mostly staged.

I thought once my room is sorted I was done. But its not . I keep finding other stuff that's pretty dirty . Anyway living room is done. Not perfect but will do.

You have done brilliantly this weekend.

Not perfect but will do... is how most people idea of cleaning. Once you have got to this stage it will be easier to do a deep clean on each room going forward, and to keep on top of the cleaning.

I thought I was deep cleaning 🤣. But yeah I think there's definitely light at the end of the tunnel

Teen ds is being an arse so I really don't want to do anything else. Kids are due back in a bit as well.

Flash make a spray to clean and freshen hard floors which really works well

I was just looking at things for decorating. But im thinking maybe I should leave it for a bit make sure I'm keeping on top of the cleaning first ?

I think it's beautiful, even the bit of garden I can see looks lovely.

I'm pretty proud of the garden actually 🤣. I know there's lots of people that don't like it. But I took away the real grass and replaced it with fake I done everything completely on my own the ground work for it everything.

I just want to say that I'm in awe of how honest you've always been and of you've always been so genuine and down to earth, You've never looked for sympathy - you've only ever asked for support in moving forward.
And in doing that, you've united posters and you've shown us what can be done with support. You've actually brought out the very best in MN.

Aww thank you so much. I do keep it real even if I feel ashamed otherwise whats the point ? I have had a few steps back but I catch myself and make sure I go forwards again.

Life has been awful for a long time. But things are getting better . But in my mind I'm still/was stuck in that mind set. Sitting in a shithole is gonna make you feel shit. So sorting the house out so it's tidy and then decorating etc is all about making the house feel happy.

I'm glad it has helped others to.

Thank you . And your welcome 🤣. I still have to sort my room though. I was looking at idea chest of drawers the 40.00 delivery is really putting me off .. but I want the it match the set I already have. Then I thought about a wardrobe. But then I only want shelves as I don't hang stuff .

I'm going to do easy stuff today I think . I have just done a wash. I'm going to just wipe down door frames /doors

How do I laminate somthing? I have a tidy up routine thing that I printed . But I would like it laminated.

Teacher tip: use one of those a4 clear plastic document wallets like this one. Tape the hole punched bit to the back so it looks neat. Then all you do is print off your list and you can write on it and wipe it clean. No need to re-laminate if you need to change the list or whatever and it saves you having to buy a laminating machine which is more clutter😉

I wanted to do it properly though 🤣. I don't get it though do you buy some sort of see through sheets that go into the laminator
