Is this a very faint line or am I going mad? Been feeling off for a few days and had old pregnancy tests in the cupboard and did one on a whim. This came up in 2 mins.

I have a Mirena coil and have epilepsy and take lots of meds for it so this is in no way planned. Stressing out so much.

if it's there, it's very very faint. you need to get one of the more expensive, more sensitive ones from the supermarket/chemist

YouAttentionSeekingTrippleARatedFuckwit · 11/01/2024 10:19

Too much dye bleed to say, it could just be dye that’s travelled up the indent. You will have to recheck, but dip in a cup rather than holding the test mid stream, and keep the test flat until the time to read it.

Christmasbird · 11/01/2024 10:19

Hi OP, I can't personally see it. Hope someone can come and second it x

I can't see it however that test has to much dye run so if there's a line it could well be down to that.
Test again.

ilovebagpuss · 11/01/2024 10:31

I can see a line but agree if it's old you need a new one

SoOutingWhoCares · 11/01/2024 10:33

I can see a line. You need to take another test.

CRbear · 11/01/2024 10:35

Those are the most sensitive tests out there now you can’t get FRER. 10mlU. A clear blue digital is 25mlU for example- expensive but way less sensitive.

Agree you need to do another though, and if these aren’t in date get some new ones. However I think it’s positive.

Queijo · 11/01/2024 10:35

Right I’ll go and get some new tests this afternoon and see what comes up. Hoping it’s just too much dye and it being an old shite test.

OP posts:
Sunsea21 · 11/01/2024 10:37

I can definitely see a second line there. Might be an idea to get one of the sensitive tests to check

ZebraD · 11/01/2024 10:37

Fingers crossed

Befop · 11/01/2024 10:38

I can see something.

Whiskeypowers · 11/01/2024 10:43

I can see a second line

stargirly · 11/01/2024 10:45

to be honest i can see something but as pp have said it could easily be dye running, would second checking again with a new test

Queijo · 11/01/2024 10:52

Ok done another of the crap ones and used a cup and kept flat. I will go and get a clearblue today but I can see something very faintly there. Fucking hell

There is something there... Wishing you well OP

EvilElsa · 11/01/2024 10:55

I can see a very faint line. I wouldn't panic too much -wait until you get a clearblue and go from there.

Flickersy · 11/01/2024 10:56

OP if these are old, expired tests you should not be taking anything they show as reliable. I do see something but given you have a coil then the most probable explanation is an expired faulty test.

Try not to worry yet and go and get some fresh tests.

NCgoingdry · 11/01/2024 10:59

Can definitely see a line on both.

Is this - disaster stations. Or - not planned or ideal but a nice surprise?

Hope you're ok.

shieldmaiden7 · 11/01/2024 11:20

I can see a line on both! Good luck either way OP! Flowers

Ohshitakimushrooms · 11/01/2024 11:23

@Queijo if you are pregnant you need to book an doctor app asap I am on epilepsy medication and am constantly told not to get pregnant on my medication and to talk to them before I start trying. ( I’m not even trying but the way the gone on has terrified me)

Lackinginspiration1 · 11/01/2024 11:24

I make these types of tests- that’s a positive. Old/expired tests would be far more likely to simply give a fainter line, rather than a false positive

BrutusMcDogface · 11/01/2024 11:25

That’s positive in my opinion. Also wishing you well, op! 💐

Yes this is exactly my worry. Once I’ve confirmed with a proper test I’ll call my epilepsy specialist nurse and see what she says.

I don’t take valproate thankfully, but I do take carbamazepine which worries me a lot.

Jessforless · 11/01/2024 11:31

I can see a faint line but I’ve had a false positive on a cheap test before so don’t panic too much yet.

Ohshitakimushrooms · 11/01/2024 11:31

I take that aswell and the lamotrigine, they way the specialist go on is terrifying and as having to sign the form about to say you are not trying every 12 months 🤦🏻‍♀️ hope everything is ok for you
