Is this a very faint line or am I going mad? Been feeling off for a few days and had old pregnancy tests in the cupboard and did one on a whim. This came up in 2 mins.

I have a Mirena coil and have epilepsy and take lots of meds for it so this is in no way planned. Stressing out so much.

It's great your midwife is so supportive

Any news?

Queijo · 18/01/2024 08:52

Hi, sorry head has been all over the place. I’ve had a scan and I’m about 6w 5days. Coil was nowhere to be found so god knows what happened there.

My epilepsy nurse has suggested raising my Keppra to come off carbamazepine and given me a high strength folic acid to take. I’m still not 100% sure what I’m doing, but the thought of an abortion fills me with dread, so may be having a baby. Haven’t told anyone apart from my sister (and here!) and won’t until I’ve decided 100%.

Thanks for checking in!

I've had these lines before then I had a heavy period.

I'd wait till it's a thick line.

Tessisme · 18/01/2024 09:19

Oh my goodness. I hope everything works out well for you, whatever decision you make.

It’s a very short thread. For god’s sake read it!

You have great support from your nurse it sounds like, and you have options and choices. Good luck and sending support to you

You also need to RTFT

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 18/01/2024 10:54

OP, I've been lurking on this thread. I'm really sorry that you've had to go through this. What on earth happened with the coil?! Regardless, whatever you decide will be the right thing for you and you have some time to think. If you decide to have a termination, that's absolutely fine. If you decide to have the baby, that's absolutely fine too.

Olika · 18/01/2024 11:02

All the best whatever you decide.

Thulpelly · 18/01/2024 11:34

I see it, but do another test

Why, when a scan has confirmed pregnancy?

Thanks for updating us, and wishing you the very best of luck 💙 one day you may look back on this post and think, "that was the start of something wonderful!"

ZebraD · 18/01/2024 12:13

Awww bless you. I hope you get your head round whatever outcome you decide.
I found I was unexpectedly pregnant with my two boys around double digit age. The thought of starting again terrified me. But I have to say, she is now nearly 11 and I could not be without her however hard it has been at times. I haven’t got the same health worries as you but I just wanted you to know that as scary as it may be right now, you won’t always feel like this whichever way you decide to go. Big hugs x

NicholJO · 18/01/2024 12:32

Good luck op your still in shock bless you have a really good think about what's best for you I have 7 children 5 all grown up and 6 grandchildren I have my 9 and 4 year olds at home I wouldn't change them for the world but its not easy

Shesgettingmarriedinthemornin · 18/01/2024 12:53

Good luck OP. Fellow epilepsy sufferer here amd know how tricky this can be. Hope your meds switch goes ok- Keppra is pretty safe as far as I'm aware.

Best of luck and remember to look after your health first and foremost!
