Electric toothbrushes - one each or just a head each?

I'm looking at a new brush for my son. We currently have 3 (bulky) electric brushes and I wondered about sharing the handle and having a head each. I'm not sure why but it feels a bit weird. Does anyone do this ? I did it with my youngest when he was tiny but he's got his own now. Is it chance to clear space or weird ?

I think it's bizarre that people are intimate, share a bed, clean yucky children, help with cleaning up when a partner/children are sick and ill but refuse to share a toothbrush handle which should be cleaned after each use anyway.

One each.

As I said upthread, DH and I share bodily fluids in other ways. Sharing a toothbrush handle is a non issue.

Has anyone read The Guardian today? There's an article in the problem/Dilemma section where someone has written in to say his wife's siblings use any random toothbrush when they come to stay!

I would never share. To me, toothbrushes are like underwear - for personal use only!

I find it bizarre. If you were sharing a flat with your best friend and washed both people's clothes together, would you then have a communal knicker drawer and both take from it?
The ugh feeling from even thinking about that is what I feel when reading about people sharing electric toothbrush handles.

Don't see how that compares at all. It's more like, would you wear the underwear of a same sex partner if you were the same size?

And yes I would
