Just watching the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards on Prime presented by my first two country loves Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks.
I love country music and Lainey Wilson is my latest love. I don't see many music threads in general (except Taylor Swift ticket threads-love TS) and thought I'd start one where we can share our love of l things country music. I'm going to start wearing my cowboy boots again and go to the local country festival in the summer. I'm autistic and music is my main stim where I play the same song over and over for hours if not days. They then go on my songs of the week playlist.

I love the way country songs tell a story. Not all, but most of what I listen too is a story. Some are just good fun but I love the story telling. Blown Away by Carrie Underwood for example. The Thunder Rolls by Garth Brooks. Proper goosebumps songs.

I loved Brad Paisley twenty years ago, but I do not enjoy his music as much after about 2011. I have seen Kacey Musgraves live a couple of times. I did not like Golden Hour or Star crossed nearly as much though. Blake Shelton, Carly Pearce and Lee Brice are secret loves.

Another country music lover here! Also a big fan of Garth Brooks and I love Dolly Parton, but the ones I have been listening to recently are Tyler Childers (going to see him in Feb for the 2nd time, he's amazing!), Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Turnpike Troubadours and the Steeldrivers.

We saw Garth Brooks in Dublin in 2022, have never heard a huge stadium sing every word so loud. Fantastic concert.

My husband loves Colter Wall but I'm not so sure on him. The only song of his that I like is Sleeping on the Blacktop, as its a bit more upbeat. Tyler is doing a tour in the UK again this year. We went to see him in Jan 2020 and he's back again this year. Tickets were surprisingly very cheap. I thought they'd have gone up a lot as he's gotten more popular.

Autistic country lover here too! My Grandad played my Glen Campbell when I was tiny and me and my best friend got into the newer stuff in our teens.

Also loving The Painter by Cody Johnson at the moment and seeing Ashley on Wednesday IN MY HOME TOWN! Like an actual massive Nashville star is playing 20 mins from where we grew up! To the poster that posted Martha Divine… what an AMAZING song!

I also LOVE Lainey, we saw her at C2C at 10am in the morning on a tiny stage a few years ago and loved her- I’m back in my flares because of her!

Also love Kelsea Ballerini, Old Dominion, Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves and Carrie Underwood!

Old Dominion one of my faves, can’t wait to see them again at C2C. Love Keith Urban too and seen live a few times.

Also love Zac Brown Band and Thomas Rhett.

I adore country music, I grew up in the states and always felt a distint lack of country music in the UK until the past 5 years or so. Ashley Mcbryde is one of my current favourites and is touring the UK again in Jan. Kezia Gill also great at the moment. I always find Bob Harris country music show a good place to find new artists/bands.

Post a photo of your boots please! And wear them anywhere you fancy I think.
Tomorrow for DD's birthday I've got a pair of trousers with zips on the ankles that might look ok with my boots in place of flares. A check shirt, a leather waistcoat or vest as they call them over there, and my hat. I also have a poncho if I don't wear the vest. I looked in the charity shops for flares but alas non to be found.

I’m a country music lover too, but more of the old stuff. I love Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins etc. I adore Garth Brooks… I saw him here in Dublin in 1994, all three nights in 1997, and went to all five nights last year too lol.

I have a gorgeous Stetson I bought in Texas, and had one of the best nights ever in a nightclub in Texas two-stepping with real cowboys. It was amazing! I also have a pair of snakeskin cowboy boots, though I haven’t worn them in years.

I am currently obsessed with Fanny Lumsden. Red Dirt, Grown Ups tie for favorite.

Another vote for Kacey Musgraves, especially her 'Same Trailer Different Park' and 'Pageant Material' albums from a country perspective.

I really only got more into Country in the last couple of years and my years top songs on Spotify that I played the most were all Country!! I'm enjoying finding new up and coming ones too.

I'm going to give all these new names a try. Love Kacey Musgraves. Merry Go Round really got to me when I first heard it. And Silver Lining. Christmas Makes Me Cry is something I heard recently and it's lovely.

I've been letting Alexa play away after whatever done I've requested and add ones I like to my playlist. The Painter that op mentioned is on there. So many great songs. Dd seems country the most annoying music ever. She's not inherited my genes sadly.
