The nicest celebs I've ever worked with were Rylan, Andrew Scott, Anna Taylor Joy, and Sam Claflin.

The worst by a country mile were Matthew MacFayden (psycho, actively went out of his way to be cruel and abusive to extras knowing they couldn't push back) and Georgia Tennant (monitored Twitter obsessively and used sockpuppet accounts to see what was being said about her husband, and used to phone up the production company to have a good scream whenever she saw anything on Twitter that she didn't like, and was determined to push her kids into fame).

I'm around celebs all the time, must are just normal. I was at a party recently with Paapa Essiedu and Pearl Mackie and did not recognise either of them till afterwards. Just ordinary nice people.

What would / could the production company do about it? Seems pointless to me

Not very well known but have met all of The White Buffalo members. He is very tall and has lovely blue eyes. Was very nice and we took some photos together.

Oh, this is one about me! I'm not a celebrity, but when I lived in London more than one person thought I was someone called Gugu Mbatha-Raw. She was in a tv show called Belle a few years back. I don't think I look all that much like her, but apparently I do!

I know who you mean, she was also in the morning show with Jenny Aniston.
Thats quite the compliment as she’s stunning.

I met loads of celebrities due to my job but one who sticks out is one that I didn't work with.

One evening, my mother and I were going to the theatre in London. We were in Covent Garden and had somehow got completely turned around and it was getting late - we were worried that we would miss curtain up.

Suddenly we saw a figure rushing towards us. The place was absolutely deserted by this point so this person seemed like a Godsend. We hailed them to ask where such-and-such a theatre was. It turned out to be Richard Briers!

He gave us our directions and then apologised profusely for having to rush off. 'It's well after the Half,' he said, 'And I'm rather late!' I think he was doing Middle Age Spread at the time so he still had a fair sprint to go to get to his theatre. We made it for curtain up - I hope he did too!

I lost my son on a beach in Cornwall and a very fit bunch of guys were sitting close to us . They all helped look for him . When he was found…by an ice cream van😂I then realised they were the English Rugby Team !! Laurence Dellallio,Jonny Wilkinson and a few more. They messed about with both my sons with rugby ball for a while! Boys were so chuffed!

I have - and his wife - at an animal awards ceremony! Both very engaging and chatty, seemed to be really easy with each other and genuinely 'non-celebby'. It was by chance as I walked past them with a dog and RG was lovely with him 🐶

Ah great I knew he'd be how I thought.
Supports women and loves animals what's not to like.

I met the Queen and Prince Philip at a Reception at Buckingham Palace. I shook the Queen's hand after being introduced and curtsying. There was no conversation. What stood out to me that evening was meeting Prince Edward. He spoke to me for about 20 minutes. I’ve never met a kinder more polite person. I’m sure my conversation was dull but he was attentive, interested and so lovely. So immaculately dressed too.

FluffyUnicornsFly · 07/01/2024 21:32

Have met quite a few, most quite a while ago, the nicest ones, and my faves, David Attenborough, Alison Steadman, Ant and Dec, Jess Philips, Andy Burnham, Sadiq Kahn.

I danced with Richard Branson once. He was a very odd person. He picked my friend up and threw her over his shoulder. She was not pleased at all!

He isodd.
At Princess Diana's funeral he was smiling and waving at the public as though he was on a red carpet.
Quite bizarre.

WholeMe · 07/01/2024 21:33

Met Ed Sheeran twice, my children go to the same high school that he went to and he lives in the next village over from us. Most recently was at a school play in November, he was in the audience with his wife. He happily chatted to students and parents in the interval and me and my daughter had a photo with him.

She is, I think she is much better looking than I am, so I'll take it!

So surprised and disappointed about Lee Evans, thought he’d be one of the nice, down to earth ones

Why did he do that

You must be near me. We were having a meal in DQ a few weeks ago and he came in. He also drinks in our village pub. He donated lego to the primary school too!

Served Melanie Sykes at a tennis club/bar years and years ago abroad, she was not friendly, it was disappointing

Went on a TV game show when I was around 18 with friends, Davina McCall was the host and not massively famous at that point, she was very lovely

Worked briefly for Peter Jones (Dragons den) very nice man, polite, kind etc

Highfivemum · 07/01/2024 21:59

Met quite a few but cannot name most as it may be outing. My most favourite is the lovely David Jason. Such a talent and genuine nice person. Quite quiet and shy but so kind.

Melanie Sykes is notoriously extremely rude. I know people who worked with her and she is a complete diva and also apparently as thick as mince.

Imnotthemonalisa · 07/01/2024 22:10

John Cooper Clarke is lovely and also very short. The hair makes him appear taller.
I saw Dave Hill, the weird toothy one, from Slade on a train. Arsehole.
The Marquess of Bath told me that I had a smile like the Mona Lisa. I was 19 and he'd have been about 60.

sidorek · 07/01/2024 22:11

I met Megan Markle, shook hands and asked most silly question.
I knew John Thaw and Sheila Hancock.
I live close to James May from Top Gear.
I see Eddie Marsan in my local shop.
I met Miranda Hart on a walk.
I bumped shoulders with Hugh Grant on the tube.

Suzypoo10 · 07/01/2024 22:19

i got to meet band members of Kasabien when they were doing a warm-up gig prior to their tour at a leisure centre in Swindon. They were coming out of the side door just as we were passing - very friendly and chatty.

DH and I met Jimmy Nail recently, socially.

Apparently, he has been back living in the north-east for about 5 years now. He's started to pop-up quite a bit doing stuff around Newcastle and he turned up at a small reception/do we were asked to.

I sort of had a pre-formed opinion of him that he was a bit rough and took himself a bit too seriously so was amazed when he turned out to be really intelligent, quite quietly charming and dryly funny. Yes, I could still hear Oz in his voice a tiny bit in some of his jokes but he was really quite serious and just lovely. Prepared to laugh at himself- quite a lot of self-deprecation. Very observant. I really took to him. He chatted to us for ages, asked lots of questions and was really interested in our answers (or very good at pretending to be).

Very, very thin though. His jeans were hanging on him round the hips (not in a fashionable way).

Imnotthemonalisa · 07/01/2024 22:26

Was ignored by Adrian Childs at a wedding. This was after we'd already met as we were both friends of the couple.

George Michael looked after me when I was drunk. He was v kind.

MaidMaryAnn · 07/01/2024 22:36

I met Rolf Harris after one of his shows. Several years ago. I was working at the theatre. He seemed lovely. This was before it all came out about his behaviour. Really shocked me.

I also met the members of Bullet For My Valentine a good few years back, but we were all very drunk so all I really remember was dancing with them and my group of friends.
