Just that really! Looking for inspiration as we always eat the same thing and I’m so bored of it!

im always reading on here really interesting meals and wondered what everyone is eating on this miserable January day! (Miserable where I am anyway!)

Steak, chips and salad. Was going to make creme egg brownies for dessert but can't motivate myself!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/01/2024 16:22

I'm making veggie lasagne. Will eat with salad and coleslaw. Really looking forward to it.

Hoglet70 · 06/01/2024 16:24

Pukka pie and chippy chips.

APurpleSquirrel · 06/01/2024 17:08

Toad in the Hole with roast potatoes, Brussels, carrots & parsnips

DilemmaDelilah · 06/01/2024 17:16

Beef stew, with broccoli for me because I'm trying to be healthy... And dumplings for DH because he's not!

NeedToStopEatingCake · 06/01/2024 17:18

A chicken traybake thing - chunks of chicken breast, peppers, tomatoes, onion, potato - drizzled with rapeseed oil, sprinkled with paprika, garlic powder, rosemary and chilli powder

Therealjudgejudy · 06/01/2024 17:42

Battered cod and baked beans. My total comfort food.

DeanElderberry · 06/01/2024 17:43

I made leeks with ham in a cheese sauce for Thursday's dinner, deliberately did double quantities, and am having the second half of it this evening - I'll be cold when I get in and something I can zap in the microwave while I put some logs on the fire seemed a good idea.

For the first time ever I made the sauce in the 'new' way, mixing the butter, flour and milk into a batter in a goblet blender and then cooking it, rather than the usual roux & add milk method. Possibly slightly more foolproof, but made extra washing up. Which doesn't really signify with a dishwasher. Good thing, bad thing? Can't decide.

Afters will be fruit, probably more than the diet purists would approve of. There may be wine.

embolass · 06/01/2024 17:46

We’ve just had a curry threw together at 3 pm with whoopsie chicken breasts from Asda followed by Asda specially selected range Xmas pud reduced whoopsie style to 75p! It was delicious, in fact I’m going back for seconds. The thrill I get out of a whoopsie meal esp a two courser is so sad!

Jerk chicken thighs, rice and peas and salad.

Sususudio · 06/01/2024 18:44

Attempting Rukmini Iyer's paneer, peas, and tomato roasting tin curry. Am not optimistic.

TeenLifeMum · 06/01/2024 18:45

Turkey pie with puff pastry top - jus roll with left over turkey from Christmas (it’s been in the freezer in the garage but dh left the freezer door open so we’re eating it this weekend). Turkey curry tomorrow.

DelilahBucket · 06/01/2024 18:45

Mac n cheese with lardons and topped with sliced tomatoes, oregano, parmesan and a drizzle of olive oil. Comfort food!

AnneLarsen · 06/01/2024 19:13

Steak and Stilton pie made with some of the leftover Christmas Stilton. With new potatoes, broccoli and green beans.

DS8 doesn’t like blue cheese and is having chicken thighs with Cajun spice, chips and salad.

This actually turned out quite decent, quick and non-messy!

Went down well, put much less liquid in both bits if you decide to give it a go

Psychoticbreak · 11/01/2024 05:16

I have tried and failed to meal plan for the week ahead so the best I think for now is doing it in the morning.
Yesterday I took the last batch of bolognese sauce from the freezer so chucked spaghetti and garlic bread with that.
In the fridge is a throw in the oven type turkey in bbq sauce thing that I bought on a whim so going to use up the last bits of salad and grated cheese and put it on tacos for tonight although might need to add rice to it.
