Worst clothes fashion trends of the last 30 years?

What do you think the worst fashion trends have been over the last 30 years?

I was watching a BBC drama set in the early 2000s, and it reminded me that I once wore a tight pencil skirt with tight knee high boots. I think pencil skirts were the worst, largely because they were so uncomfortable.

I don't get the cold shoulder hate. They hide the bingo wings and show off the toned upper arms.

Worst for me is the beige/flesh coloured leggings that make people look naked from the waist down.

Me either - l love my cold shoulder top!

Around 2005-2007 (I think?), there was a trend with really low waist on jeans for women. So difficult for many of us to wear.

I agree about the low cut trousers!

But what do you mean by "octopus trousers"? I can't figure it out.

Noughties fashion really didn’t work for me.

I hated those wide belts with studs in. They were often white and people wore them loose over a boho skirt.

Ponchos had a moment and they were really terrible.

There was one summer where every woman on the tube was wearing flip flops with fake flowers attached. The Guardian even did an article about it.

Really didn’t like the enormous handbags that were popular as well. Everybody looked like they were carrying their knitting around.

They worked for me as l am super low waisted so they fit fairly normally on me -high waisted trousers sit somewhere near my breasts. But l can see why they were a problem for normal shaped people!

Now I think skinny jeans. Look awful and dated now. Wore them though.
those awful belts that looked like large circles all joined together.
maxi dresses. Those trouser skirt combos.

Showing my age but I was wearing dresses with trainers in the early 90s (with adidas gazelles) so definitely think it'll be round again.

Even the ones that were so low they showed the top of the pubes? Ultra low rise.
They started by being about 11" rise, then the trend became lower, 9" then down to about 4". I gave up when they got to 9".

Cold shoulder tops...and tops with a peplum hem...so unflattering.

I never understood those,especially jumpers. Surely if it’s cold enough to want to wear a jumper you’d want your shoulders covered! 🤣
