There is a man on Strictly Come Dancing, and he seems to be very powerful and important. But who is he?

Is he in charge of the programme?

He is always in the background when Claudia is presenting, mouthing words at the camera. And once, for Halloween, he dressed up as a ghost and then revealed that it had really in fact been him all along. But who is he?

Well, he’s made a career out of not having a partner on Strictly. He must be one of the longest serving pros on there, but has rarely had a partner. There must be something going for him and there must be something that makes it worthwhile to him, to stay when he’s regularly benched.

Carlos is far worse for the gurning thing. Lots of us would notice if Neil disappeared and I hope he has another celeb this year - might make it better than this year's strictly was.

Can someone let me know if he is on this new series?

I keep wondering if—what with all the scandals and everything—this might be the series where he comes out from the shadows and launches himself on the viewing public.

He clearly has special jobs to do that the other dancers don’t get to do.

One day, the truth will be told about Neil and his special status in Strictly.
