Just about to look for a new diary. Anyone have anything to share they’ve already bought? Halo

Sadly it looks like moleskin have stopped doing their themed diaries this year - does anyone else make a diary with the elastic closure?

I love the Uniball Air pens but oh my goodness those zebra pens are gorgeous. How could I incorporate them into my diary life?🤔

I had a Leuchtturm pen and pen loop too to match my weekly planner this year as I’m fed up with scrabbling round for a pen.

Might have to have the zebra pens for bdays, term dates etc 😂

Even the cheap zebra pens which I always see in Asda and B&m still write really nicely

DD loves them

Clarice99 · 29/12/2023 10:41

I now NEED to look for coloured staples!!!!

Who knew such a thing existed 😂

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 29/12/2023 10:45

I intended to spend Boxing Day evening with a glass of red, my gorgeous new Papier diary and cute pens filling everything thing in. Or as I like to call it, Diary Night. I'm a proper saddo and make a proper ritual of it and really look forward to it.

Anyway for various reasons it didn't happen and as we've been back to work the last few days I've ended up doing a little bit each night. With no wine. And because it's been a bit rushed I've already accidentally written SEVERAL JANUARY EVENTS IN FEBRUARY AND HAD TO CROSS SHIT OUT. Already. Fellow stationery lovers, I know you feel my pain at this.

We're out the next few nights and have a very uncharacteristically busy weekend for us. Is it awful that I want to call off sick tonight and stay in by myself and Do My Diary? Grin

@WantToBeWarm, I think a diary has to be a functional working tool, not merely beautiful! One thing that helps me, though, is to have a diary with monthly pages, where I log appointments and so on. Then I only transfer that to the weekly or daily pages at the start of each week, when I can add in the more mundane and regular things - bin day, church, supermarket etc. Obviously there are still some cancellations, but fewer than if you go straight in.

Oooh now I think that's a very good suggestion. Mine has a double page like this for every month then the week to view for each month so that could work for me

When work is cancelled and I've already written it in my planner, I use a ruler and a pencil and put a straight line through it so, in my mind, it still looks neat! I also use some stickers - I got these from Stamperia - or washi tape to pretty it up and hide mistakes!

You could use post its too. Write the date and time of the appointment and press it into the day that it's meant to happen. If it moves you can update it and move it to the other time or day until it's fixed and then write it in

I write meetings I know will get rescheduled 50 times on washi tape I can remove or move to another date.
I also moan at my boss when she changes meetings after I've just made my diary look nice and tidy.

I have a tiger stapler from chessington world of adventures they my neighbour brought me back from their holiday when i was a child - even though the staples that fit it are an unusually small size and a pain to find to buy I still have it as my stapler because i flipping love it so much! At the moment it has PINK staples in, too, which brightens up tax return season 😁 🐅

I really want a dinosaur pencil sharpener to go with it now 👀

Grimchmas, aged 51 1/2, still loves stationery

Edited

I got a bit of a thrill reading about the coloured staples...this is a whole new avenue to explore 😮 😁
The dino sharpener came from a fancy garden centre near us called Lowdens - amazing the small gifts that make you happy!
I've had to size down from an a5 to a6 on the diary as I kept filling it with endless random unrelated 'to do's' which never got done so had to be crossed out and carried over. Aaaargh. I'll just add little post-its now instead, so I can magically disappear my failure to complete the tasks 😏...

Threewheeler, aged 50 1/2 and also still loves stationery 😀

HashtagShitShop · 29/12/2023 14:17

We r memory keepers do coloured staples too. There's a big standard stapler that comes with coloured staples or this bad boy that is magnetic and means you can staple wherever you need to (small, medium and large) as its not joined together

I have found my people! I’ve already got a Filofax which I use for work and tend to use my phone for personal stuff but I’m allowed to buy a separate diary for personal right? And also some nice pens to go with it? Now…to shop!!!

HideousKinky · 29/12/2023 17:02

I always get a Redstone diary because I like the layout and every year there is a different theme with interesting photos/quotations. 2023 was In Search Of Beauty and 2024 is Family

Mummylovesmonkeys · 29/12/2023 17:03

I use a Filofax, and have just spent 2 days trying to get my printer to print my (self designed) new daily sheets. (DH bought me a new laptop for Christmas, so all the settings were cocked up 🙄)

I track everything - my food intake (I'm trying to lose weight), medications, appointments, etc. Works for me :)

Another vote for boxclever, I've used them for the past four years but they've changed the layout now! Gutted but keping an eye out for something similar with the days laid out in vertical columns in a weekly spread if that makes sense, it was so good for lists

I got one with that layout Boxclever Press Everyday A5 Diary... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CFHKFTXN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

WorriedWotsit · 29/12/2023 21:29

I've spent my life searching for the ideal planner and discovered the one below midway through last year - it's perfect for me...

Each month has a whole month to view at the beginning, then its broken down into week to view with a good size section per day - I draw a line down the centre of each page to give two columns per day.

There are two ribbon bookmarks so you can mark the month and the week you're on.

There's about 25 A4 lined pages at the back for notes and scribblings and the paper is lovely and thick.

There's a pocket at the back, an elastic to hold it all together and a pen loop... all for £17

I LOVE IT

I bought this and absolutely love it!

A couple of years back I treated myself to one of these Life Books. Spend all morning writing stuff in it and setting it up then went off to make a coffee. Came back to my desk, tripped over my own feet and spilt the whole cup of coffee all over the open planner

I was gutted 😞

I'd have just bought a new diary at this point, it would have upset me too much if I had to live with it all year.

But then I have form for ripping messy pages from notebooks so they end up super-thin.

And I wonder why school have suggested DD use a laptop in future as she writes too slowly because she's so determined to have neat textbooks...

Do calendars count? I always get a Pusheen calendar! I had to trek to Cambridge to get mine this year, as there were none to be had online on any of the websites I looked at. I phoned up the Calendar Club helpline on Wednesday and asked if there were any in stock in the two stores in Cambridge, the nice lady said yes, so off I went. I got the goods, and then I got a hot chocolate from Hotel Chocolat!

I’ve got a Nashe pocket monthly https://www.papersmiths.co.uk/products/2024-nahe-pocket-weekly-diary-khaki

its thin, it’s small, it has a month to view laid out as a calendar (I work shifts so this is vital). I use mechanical pencils rather than pens as I hate committing to (?ruining) a new notebook or diary - feels better with pencil! Plus doesn’t fade or run when wet!

2024 Nahe Pocket Monthly Diary - Khaki

The Nahe Square diary in khaki for 2024 has a retro-inspired, minimal monthly format. The tiny, pocket-sized diary features monthly spreads, including space for memos and weekly tasks, as well as blank space for other to-do's or ideas. It also includes...
