Just about to look for a new diary. Anyone have anything to share they’ve already bought? Halo

Can we talk about nice pens too?

Zebra Sarasa pens. The vintage colour setis amazing.

SqueezyMcJingles · 29/12/2023 01:06

I can't ever get on with planners and diaries that have the pages laid out for me so for this year, well in September for the academic year, I bought this blank book with lovely, thick, dotted paper and set my own pages up.

A very silly question, but as someone who adores gorgeous stationery, how do you cope with ever-changing meeting and appointment times? The appointment style diaries would be perfect but I'd hate to spend time laying out a week's worth of plans and work meetings only to have to scribble them out when they're inevitably rescheduled last minute.

Do I just need to get over my desire for a beautifully laid out diary for this year and come to terms with the fact half of all the pages will have some form of scribbling out on them?

T1cTacT03 · 29/12/2023 06:53

I love the Uniball Air pens but oh my goodness those zebra pens are gorgeous. How could I incorporate them into my diary life?🤔

I had a Leuchtturm pen and pen loop too to match my weekly planner this year as I’m fed up with scrabbling round for a pen.

Might have to have the zebra pens for bdays, term dates etc 😂

Use a pencil.

T1cTacT03 · 29/12/2023 07:15

Or an erasable pen.

KeeeeeepDancing · 29/12/2023 09:05

Aha you need the range of pens from legami. In rymans and WHS. they are erasable and so cute, lots of ink colours.
Muji sells erasable pens too but the nibs are finer.

These diaries are amazing, nice paper different sizes and the grid system is brilliant

HashtagShitShop · 29/12/2023 09:09

You could use post its too. Write the date and time of the appointment and press it into the day that it's meant to happen. If it moves you can update it and move it to the other time or day until it's fixed and then write it in

HashtagShitShop · 29/12/2023 09:12

Depending on the quality and gsm of paper in your diaries I would be careful of using erasable pens. They obv rely on friction and on some papers can ruckle where you have erased.

Also if you keep for posterity they're not great for archiving as they're usually affected by temperature and fade petty quick as they age

Star11111 · 29/12/2023 09:45

I have always used a box clever press diary but this year I am making my own using a bullet journal layout. I’ve really enjoyed designing the pages and setting it up in the way my brain works and remembers things. My weekly layout is a week per page grid similar to box clever press but with 3 columns; one for each of our schedules.

IwishIdidntlikesugar · 29/12/2023 09:52

Is there such a thing as a Monday to Friday academic diary?

Grimchmas · 29/12/2023 09:55

Threewheeler1 · 28/12/2023 17:53

Me too😁
Got a bit of a thing for stationery, so much so I have a (check me out)... 'stationery cupboard'...(sad little drawer in hall sideboard).
Was given a dinosaur sharpener for Christmas that roars when you use it & been busy with it for a couple of days now, wandering around the house sticking anything in it!
Am shamelessly sad but I'm beyond caring 😂

I have a tiger stapler from chessington world of adventures they my neighbour brought me back from their holiday when i was a child - even though the staples that fit it are an unusually small size and a pain to find to buy I still have it as my stapler because i flipping love it so much! At the moment it has PINK staples in, too, which brightens up tax return season 😁 🐅

I really want a dinosaur pencil sharpener to go with it now 👀

Grimchmas, aged 51 1/2, still loves stationery

I am fully digital/ electronic but I really miss my Filofax. Seriously thinking of treating myself.

I have got the Mulberry version of a Filofax which I’ve not used for years.

I have just ordered the 2024 diary and note pages for it and I’m excited to start using it again and eschewing the diary and notes on my iPhone, which I don’t really like anyway.

I always go for Paperblanks diaries and this year it's

Oh I love paperblanks! Had no idea they did diaries!

Often I'll not really write in them though, because they're so nice 😕

bridgetreilly · 29/12/2023 10:24

@WantToBeWarm, I think a diary has to be a functional working tool, not merely beautiful! One thing that helps me, though, is to have a diary with monthly pages, where I log appointments and so on. Then I only transfer that to the weekly or daily pages at the start of each week, when I can add in the more mundane and regular things - bin day, church, supermarket etc. Obviously there are still some cancellations, but fewer than if you go straight in.

I love Paperblanks diaries too @Circe32

I use erasable pens when writing in my diary/planner, but I'm going to have to buy those lovely vintage pens. Thanks to @bridgetreilly for the pen link.

My diary choice for 2024 -

2024 Morris Pink Honeysuckle - William Morris - 12-Month | Paperblanks

This is absolutely beautiful
