Just being nosey.

We live pretty much equidistant between two.
Today, we went into Cambridge.

Which is the closest city to you?

Stirling is actually a city so I don't get your point

MerryChristmas23 · 27/12/2023 19:36

City of Westminster

mumonthehill · 28/12/2023 15:49

St Davids!

lolly07766 · 28/12/2023 15:50

I live in Cambridge! What did you think? Did you enjoy it?

91BlackCat · 28/12/2023 15:56

Sunderland 😸

TattiePants · 28/12/2023 16:01

Another one from Sunderland although Durham and Newcastle are only 20-25 mins away.

PickAChew · 28/12/2023 16:56

I've just realised I'm closer to Sunderland than Newcastle. I'd still say that Newcastle is my nearest city city with city things, though 😁

Strokethefurrywall · 28/12/2023 16:59

Miami

I'm halfway between Portsmouth and Southampton.

I haven't been to either for decades.

Me also. The last time we ventured down the M27 to Portsmouth was in October to catch a cross-channel ferry.

weegiemum · 28/12/2023 17:06

Glasgow. Though we live just within the city limits.

aleC4 · 28/12/2023 17:07

@ChimChimeny @Beezknees I am also in the middle of Nottingham and Derby, I wonder if we all live in the same place 🤣

Keswick1967 · 28/12/2023 17:22

Lincoln

Numbersarefun · 28/12/2023 17:38

Norwich and then it’s quite a distance to the next closest one.

newtb · 28/12/2023 17:43

Tulle or Limoges. After that, Périgueux then Bordeaux. Nearest big town, not a city but bigger than Tulle which is, is Brive la Gaillarde.

LuckyCharm9 · 28/12/2023 17:44

Exeter would be the nearest to me.

Kogong · 28/12/2023 17:45

I am currently at my parent's home in Germany for New Year, so my nearest large city to my current location is Dresden.

From my own home, it's between Glasgow and Stirling (approx 13 miles to either city). I work in Glasgow so I am there five days a week, I go to Stirling about once per month.

Gilead · 28/12/2023 17:51

more or less equidistant between Durham and Newcastle.

OShoey · 28/12/2023 17:58

Milan

I lived in Milan many moons ago as an EFL teacher and have a very soft spot for it still. Buon Natale e Felice Anno Nuovo.

BIossomtoes · 28/12/2023 18:02

Cambridge.

The only time I go in the direction of Portsmouth is to QA hospital, that's as neae to the actual city I get. I'd love to never get even that close. 😀

enchantedsquirrelwood · 28/12/2023 18:25

Not sure. Reading and Guildford are both within relatively easy distance but neither are cities, although both should be in my view.

Probably a toss up between Winchester and London.

Overheard in a queue in a shop in a small Cotswold town "I'm sorry Mrs Small-town, I dont stock those. You'll have to go to Bristol". "Bristol? I'm not going there, I went there once, years ago. Nasty, dirty, noisy place. I'll do without".
