Mines been shit too.

I'm a massive grinch normally and I made so much effort this year to get in the spirit and make things special.

Wish I hadn't bothered, normal service to resume next year as the effort I went to was pointless

None of them knew he was ill, it was very sudden.

I've thrown up, split my lip and have been in bed since 3pm. But this time next year I'll have a baby!

First Christmas since DF died and I ended up spending it at in law's because DH's uncle is terminally ill and it seemed the right thing to do to spend Christmas with them. They weren't even there, so now I feel guilty because I didn't spend the day with my DM 😩just before we got out of the car at my in-laws DD4 decided to say "your Daddy isn't here and I miss him" which nearly tipped me over the edge. In-laws were snappy and irritating and I just wanted to leave all day, which must have been obvious but I just don't fucking care.

Now I'm home and we're hosting our friend who lives with us and her lovely but neurodiverse sibling who demands a lot of attention and I am just done with people but it's too early to go to bed...

Yes, I’m introverted, adhd & quite autistic and my gf was excited and wanted my attention every few minutes this morning as she loves Christmas but it did feel like I had a 7 year old child. It was fine for an hour but after 2 or 3 hours I was getting overwhelmed. At one point there was a loud film on, she asked me to read instructions of air fryer & play with a new game with her all at once all the noise was too much & I snapped at her and asked if she could just relax. She’s only just started talking to me again and that was at 2pm. And I did all the cooking and tidying. I needed to curl up & read my book quietly so I did. I’m crap at Christmas

Yip! Was in line to be amazing and was suddenly/shockingly shit instead. There is something in people that just wants things to be crap.

Not great here, turned up at ILS and 2 of them were full of stinking colds coughing and spluttering everywhere. Can't wait for my family to come down with it in the coming days. DH got absolutely drunk and made a right fool of himself

for me so feel like we are all going through the motions and are all bored and find it so dull.

Spent all day with a man who is about to leave me. Not recommended!

First Xmas with DP (the family I'd usually have spent it with died since last Christmas). Doesn't feel very festive. My only presents from him were actually for my pet (per username) and things I intended to buy, while mine for him were very personal and treats rather than practical... feeling like an ungrateful cow!

Huge family argument that involved screaming at each other before dinner was even served. Weve not even opened the half of the baby's stocking and we haven't even managed to get the toddlers bike out of the boot. Husband is the only one being civil to me and that's because he's worried I'm going to leave him as soon as the new year arrives.

I’m at my elderly in laws who have a nice comfortable house, lovely food, but literally do not make conversation with me. Unless it’s about their friends the lawyers, the doctors, the in laws that they hate. No one asks how I am, how my family are. And all day my family at home have been having a lovely Christmas as we’ve had some great news recently re: my mums health and my brother got engaged. And I’m lying here counting down the hours til we can go home 😢 I did count out 10 things I am grateful for today but eve. That was a struggle!! Also the house is too hot 🤣🤣🤣

Yep , live alone and tested positive for covid Christmas eve . Feeling rough.
