What are your pets getting for Christmas?

My dog has a little sack with his name on hung up on the mantelpiece. He will be getting a ball, a packet of doggy cheesy nibbles and a fleece tug toy. (but mostly he will enjoy flinging wrapping paper about)

What snake? (See my post just above yours.)
DD bought herself a banana royal python in the autumn after many months / years of campaigning. We are still learning best feeding protocol!

Mine is a royal python too. I fed him weekly until he hit around 1 year old, and then I went to fortnightly feeding. He’d happily eat every week but I don’t want him getting too fat. He’s currently on small rats. He wasn’t the best eater to begin with but he likes his rats warmed up with a hairdryer. He won’t eat them if they’re wet from heating in hot water…they must be dry, fluffy and cosy! Once I found that little quirk in his feeding desires, he’s never missed a meal.

DWestie has a new kong soft toy to replace the recently dismembered one
A led spiky ball
Sausage treats
Duck fillet treats
Fleece blanket

Redshoeblueshoe · 23/12/2023 21:40

For my Dds dog I got a William Morris velvet bow tie with a matching stocking, and dog shampoo.

My first and last stealth boast on here yes it was from tkmaxx

00deed1988 · 23/12/2023 21:52

Too much for my 2 kitties. A new fluffy bed, a doughnut shaped tube to play/sleep in, a scratch ball, an electronic ball, a dreamies stocking and bought them a tuna loin treat each, special dinner and some salmon. I have also bought the things to do inkless footprints for them (that is more for me). Spoilt them too much. They are just loving all the cardboard boxes from the presents. I just keep leaving them all over the floor for them to play with!

Nellieinthebarn · 23/12/2023 21:54

A supersize chewy toy - not rawhide, a new kong, a squeaky toy and some salmon and thyme treats.

FridgeJenga · 23/12/2023 22:03

@Redshoeblueshoe 😁 I have got my dog the same, it’s also got a matching scrunchie, we’re debating if that’s for her, or me 🤣

EmpressaurusOfCats · 23/12/2023 22:13

My foster kittens are getting a long tunnel to share & a posh kitten-friendly Christmas dinner.

My cat will has a fleece blanket with cats on and a new selection of cupboard boxes he can sit in

he shall also have his little roast dinner Boxing Day dinner and a little dish of chocolate pudding with cream

he has tried to convince us he is now human as he will eat some of what ever we are having (apart from salad and chips)

Is that a kind of cat friendly chocolate?

Asking because the real thing can give them liver failure. https://www.pdsa.org.uk/pet-help-and-advice/pet-health-hub/conditions/chocolate-poisoning-in-cats

Chocolate Poisoning In Cats

The seriousness of chocolate poisoning depends on how much chocolate your cat has eaten, how much they weigh, and the cocoa content of the chocolate.

My horse got an emergency vet call out after hours this week. Christmas came early for him. I hope he appreciates his healthy existence. 😂🤨

WhateverMate · 23/12/2023 22:35

My greyhounds's got new fleecy pyjamas which she really needs in Winter.

My JR/anyone's guess cross has various doggy treats that he'll have to share with the aforementioned greyhound.

In the last 2 years he has taken to eating everything which he never did before

he is 20 in a few months and blood tests are still all ok. He has suddenly deteriorated in other ways so I think this is likely our last Christmas 😭 so just want him to enjoy himself and he would insist on sharing our food anyway (which he now does)

Champagneforeveryone · 24/12/2023 01:51

ChampagneCat has a toy (feathers on a spring attached to a heavy base) - this will either be a huge success or a complete waste of money.

DDog1 has a new crinkly, fluffy toy, DDog2 has a ball on a rope (this will be the undoubted hit of Christmas, as it has been for the past 9 years) They also have a large tub of dried sprats between them which they will be thrilled about.

Grandma will also have gifts for them 😉

Vates · 24/12/2023 04:11

@cardibach - She's fabulous, love the attitude, lol

I am unable to have pets as much as I would love to have them. But bought my Sister's dog, who I adore and often look after every week, a trendy whippet collar in purple (which she is already wearing) and then a toy donkey and pack of treats for the actual day.

Also always buy a toy for my Friend's cat. This year it was a Kong kicker one.

I’m so sorry.

It sounds as if he’s going to have a great Christmas & is really lucky to be part of your family.

DB's dog is getting a squeaky sprout and some mini beefburger treats

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 24/12/2023 06:01

Our lovely girl is getting a crocodile squeaky toy and a mererkat squeaky toy and some treats. She is spoilt all the time but best bit is seeing her playing with the toys and her tail waggling and she will be having some turkey for dinner..

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 24/12/2023 06:06

Sometimes I put treats in a large tissue box and the fun she gets out of it and we have a good laugh as she is pawing at it until she gets her treat. A lot of happy excited pets on here.

urbanbuddha · 24/12/2023 06:08

An extra tube of Thrive cos they’re her favourite treat and an empty Primark bag with the handles cut off.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 24/12/2023 06:27

The cat already knows he's got something squishy filled with drugs, as he intercepted DP's post a couple of weeks ago. It's been sitting on top of the fridge ever since, much to his disgust - every evening, he's been sitting on the stairs at the same level and wowling about it.

Last year, he got a cardboard chaise lounge, the year before, a bird thing - but his favourites of all time have been a feather boa sort of thing that he carried around for years, a squishy valerian mouse/rat that still gets battered occasionally and, best of all, a kickeroo.

Her Majestic Fluffyness' main present will be three tiger prawns and they'll both enjoy some scraps of beef, lamb and handrolled raw meat balls whilst we're cooking.

Devastatedyetagain · 24/12/2023 06:35

My two working sheep dogs are getting a cuddly sheep each, some squeaky Percy Pigs and a squeaky Brussel Sprout as well as a day off! The sheep get a day off from the dogs and will have carrots for their Christmas Breakfast!

Much to my daughters delight we found a dog squishmallow, some of her favourite training treats, some of her favourite peanut butter sticks, a small pack of tennis balls and some sausages on a rope (the only two toys she ever plays with, she still has all her puppy toys in her toy box)
