What's the worst thing you've thrown up?

Lighthearted, but I've got this horrid cold and cough.

I'm wfh today and couldn't be bothered to make lunch, so I had a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes. After eating I started coughing, then wretching, and eventually throwing up 'a lot'! Omg, CNC is without a doubt the worst thing I've ever thrown up. The smell, the taste and the texture means I don't think I'll ever eat them again. I ended up in a vicious circle, where my puke was making me puke even more. This comes from someone who has been sick a lot. I had morning sickness for 8 months when pregnant and tried to eat all sorts. But this was far and away the worst thing ever! Completely ruined cereal for me!

The corn flakes and milk that the hospital gave me just after I’d had my tonsils removed. Bastards.

Pepto Bismol. I hate the damn stuff anyway so I’d reluctantly downed it. It was fucking awful going down and even worse, god knows how, coming back up again.

Those fish oil capsules 😭

That reminds me - it was recommended to me to keep them in the freezer to avoid fishy burps. Worked quite well.

Note to reader - do not drop a container full of frozen fish oil capsules. They shatter quite spectacularly!

Orange juice. It hurt and was gross.

Cider and blackcurrant, literal pints of it. The smell of cider or anything remotely blackcurranty (including vimto, even red or black sweets) makes me instantly nauseous.

I did once witness a small child vomiting long strands of spaghetti out of her nose. That was particularly grim.

RamblingAroundTheInternet · 13/04/2024 02:37

A curry made with Quorn pieces (I’m a veggie). Whole lot just regurgitated up with no warning, over the plate at home thankfully, about a minute after eating it. I felt fine before and straight afterwards. Think it was my stomach saying enough already, stop eating that crap! Used to eat it a lot but can’t touch Quorn now.

Also boiled eggs. I was on a diet and thought I’d just have 2 boiled eggs for breakfast. Took years before I could eat eggs again.

Lager & blackcurrant, when I was young & daft I would go out to the pub & often have to throw up on the way home. If I was nearly home, I used to throw up over next doors front wall so I didn't get it on my white stilettos. She hated us anyway, so me puking over her wall was payback for all the trouble she caused. I'm sure my parents knew it was me when she was outside shouting that someone had thrown up in her weeds (her garden was a bomb site) but they never said anything.

A whole chip

OldTinHat · 13/04/2024 06:30

A McDonald's apple pie. 30 odd years ago. Haven't been able to look at one since.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/04/2024 06:45

I've never had it, but I've looked after children with feacal vomiting. That is really bad news!

treacledan71 · 13/04/2024 06:48

Another booze one. Pernod and black. I was sick in the family bathroom in the 80s. Mom had had a new carpet in the bathroom!! It was in then. I got it all over there as missed. I was so drunk I thought my mouth was bleeding at one point. I had to clean the carpet I remember that and pay for some carpet cleaner. She wasn't impressed. I hate pernod now.

A whole chip

As a teenager, my friend started throwing up after far too much cider. We’d just gone and got some chips from the local chippie.
As she threw up, she made a sort of noise, pulled a face, and a whole chip (albeit small) came out of her nose. She had to pull it out.
It was incredible!

A party at my brothers house, Boxing Day 1981.
The combination of Cherry cheesecake, far too many asparagus rolls after too much vodka & orange and Malibu & coke. I was 17. I was so ill, I was in bed for days. My poor bedroom carpet, covered in that thick cherry topping 🤢

Barbados 2010, very ill from oysters, I’ve mentioned it on here before. Projectile vomiting vile grey water for 10 days.

gocompare · 13/04/2024 08:08

Milk.

It came up curdled

Ballyhoobird · 19/12/2023 14:25

Milk. Once drank a pint of milk the morning after a party to settle my stomach. Threw up on the way home and it came back up curdled into a solid jelly like slab - same smell and texture as baby sick but large and squarish - same size as a pint of milk...

Haha sorry I just posted milk was my worst too. It's vile isn't it.

I kept a running ranking with commentary when I was pregnant and the worst by miles was a chai latte. They sprinkled a bunch of cinnamon on top and vomming up dry cinnamon HURTS

HoneyButterPopcorn · 13/04/2024 09:39

Maybe not the worst for me… when I was earlyish pregnant (not showing) I suddenly felt very nauseous one Sunday morning after going to the farmers market in a chi chi part of town.

as the urge to vomit took over I wheeled around to be sick in a corner, got the timing/angle of projection wrong and threw up down a shop window. Not massive amounts thankfully, mostly water yuk.

thank god it’s Sunday I thought. Shop closed. It wasn’t only open but they’d opened a cafe and there were people having coffee.

I did scuttle in and apologised (and explain) and they were very nice about it.

OooohAhhhh · 13/04/2024 09:44

Sambuca. It's never a good idea to down lots of shots in a row 🤢
The next day I honestly thought I was going to die. I was being sick and it was burning my throat and I couldn't breathe because of the burn, it took my breath away.
I won't touch it now.

Mumaway · 13/04/2024 09:48

I had a bad prawn inside a wonton noodle soup. Actual length of noodle came out of my nose I puked so hard

My sister did the same with limoncello. Hadn’t had it before and thought ‘this is nice’ and drank the best part of a bottle. Hasn’t touched a drop of alcohol since (and that was 20 years ago).

A whole chip

Same 😂 it was massive too…. About 20 years ago and it still baffles me, I couldn’t have swallowed it whole. Made my friend come and look at it round the back of the pub as i was so impressed

Thepossibility · 13/04/2024 10:26

Definitely vindaloo curry

TheYearOfSmallThings · 13/04/2024 10:48

This thread is putting me off foods I have never even eaten 😂

headayche · 13/04/2024 10:53

Tomato soup. Came back up the way it went in and tasted vile too.
