What's the worst thing you've thrown up?

Lighthearted, but I've got this horrid cold and cough.

I'm wfh today and couldn't be bothered to make lunch, so I had a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes. After eating I started coughing, then wretching, and eventually throwing up 'a lot'! Omg, CNC is without a doubt the worst thing I've ever thrown up. The smell, the taste and the texture means I don't think I'll ever eat them again. I ended up in a vicious circle, where my puke was making me puke even more. This comes from someone who has been sick a lot. I had morning sickness for 8 months when pregnant and tried to eat all sorts. But this was far and away the worst thing ever! Completely ruined cereal for me!

Chilli vodka. I thought it was bad on the way down but it hit my stomach and bounced

Oh god. When I saw the thread title i was saying "don't click on that thread, do not click on that thread!" But I'm not sorry i did, for some reason this is making me giggle in a kind of shared compassion. Yup, been there. Except the poo, I'm familiar that this can happen with some groups though, fil had the misfortune to experience that. This content though made me giggle, it's such a good description of those moments! It BOUNCED!

Madlymumming · 19/12/2023 16:51

Chips. Dry and solid somehow.

Having vomited weekly with medication side effects for a number of years, I realise I really do need to chew my food better.

LER83 · 19/12/2023 16:52

Toast! I was extremely dehydrated from having hypermesis, I had absolutely no salivia or liquid left, was really weak, and pretty much dry heaved up some toast that got stuck in my throat! The utter panic that went through me thinking I was going to die! It took me a really long time to be able to eat toast again! And think it was super noodles that burned like hell on the way back up!

Egg fried rice and Chinese chicken curry. I wouldn't eat it again for years. Happy to update I'm ok with it again now.

Same, I had norovirus and dd was only a couple of months old, was awful. Didn't live with ex, luckily he was visiting that night, I threw her at him and went to bed. That virus travelled pretty far.

Charliebighamfan · 19/12/2023 16:53

I agree Pernod as a teenager was bad!
As an adult mussels & fish & chips

TeeNoG · 19/12/2023 16:53

Watermelon Bacardi Breezer as a teenager. Was convinced I was bleeding to death. Was just a bit pissed.

Nibblynobbly · 19/12/2023 16:54

Beetroot burgers, it was the first time I had made them. Dh tells me they were lovely but although it wasn't them (I don't think!) I have never wanted to make them again.

Natsku · 19/12/2023 16:54

Dunno about worst but I can tell you what the best was - nachos. They were pretty mediocre nachos that actually tasted better coming back up than going down (and that was when I first suspected I was pregnant)

BigMamaFratelli · 19/12/2023 16:54

Sriacha mayo. DP and both had some on the day we caught D&V from the kids. Still can't eat it now.

dudsville · 19/12/2023 16:55

🤣@buckingmad ! Yes that horrible moment when you turn your own stomach. It's those moments when our eyes are particularly poorly located!

But why the hell is this thread giving me the giggles! I'm on the bus home after a long day, giggling away.

Moussaka is definitely up there. It’s extremely oily when it comes back up and just really unpleasant. By far the worst IMO though is when you can’t keep anything down but still keep being sick and it’s just bright yellow liquid that tastes completely vile. I always think of that Phoebe Buffay line, “This is what evil must taste like!”

That yellow liquid is called bile. Definitely vile😁

Afolnerd · 19/12/2023 16:56

About 12 shots of Pink aftershock.
I was 17 it was horrific. I am now 40 and my stomach still churns if I see a bottle.

Steak and ale pie. Will never look at another pie again

Woofygoldberg · 19/12/2023 17:06

Same as Afolnerd - Aftersock shots- burnt going down and burnt coming back up!

It's my overriding freshers week memory- I vomited into a my own shoe.

FionnulaTheCooler · 19/12/2023 17:06

Blue powerade energy drink. I had been advised at antenatal class to bring some kind of non fizzy energy drink to the labour ward to keep my blood sugar levels up during labour. When I threw it up again due to a bad reaction to the morphine it was radioactive green, I heard the midwife say to the auxiliary nurse "Did you see the colour of that vomit, I've never seen anything like it." Haven't ever been able to touch the stuff again.

Milk. Once drank a pint of milk the morning after a party to settle my stomach. Threw up on the way home and it came back up curdled into a solid jelly like slab - same smell and texture as baby sick but large and squarish - same size as a pint of milk...

I came here to comment this exact same thing.
At the time I joked I had barfed up a six pint of milk carton and all because that’s what it felt like 🤢

dudsville · 19/12/2023 17:11

I don't have a worst content, my two worst times though were 1) with noro when i couldn't get my breath, and 2) with a bad gall bladder, had been in pain and vomiting for hours. Ambulance arrived and i had already given up, could no longer make the trip to the loo so was just lying on my side with a bowl that dh was lovingly replacing as needed. They gave me an antiemetic and were so confident the vomiting would stop. I was so dehydrated so i asked if i could have some water... the anti emeric did not work!

HoneyButterPopcorn · 19/12/2023 17:11

The worst thing ever thrown up ON me was an aubergine and tomato stew type thing (it was a carsick child).

I was wearing a white jumper (first time ever worn - and the last) at the time. Looked like I’d been shot.

LikeRobbieSays · 19/12/2023 17:12

Milk last week
Watermelon this week
Need to stop drinking

NormalForNuneaton · 19/12/2023 17:14

Tomato soup when pregnant with DS.

I was sick partly through my nose too so I could taste/smell it so intensely for ages afterwards. It was a fair few years before I could even took at tomato soup again

TravellingT · 19/12/2023 17:14

a large stem of tenderstem broccoli. It was a tense dinner, I was hurrying to finish to leave. Put the piece in whole, it wasn't cooked through and was very solid, stringy and hard to chew. Ended up partially swallowing it, gagged and threw it and the salmon and potatoes up.

ohdelay · 19/12/2023 17:15

Four krispy kreme ring doughnuts and half a bottle of gin nearly twenty years ago. The smell was life changing, haven't been able to eat a doughnut since. Gin has been fine though

Ilovemyshed · 19/12/2023 17:16

Red wine and potato wedges with garlic mayo. All at the end of a platform at East Croydon station. The shame! At least I made it off the train (just).

Newsenmum · 19/12/2023 17:17

Those fish oil capsules 😭
