What's the worst thing you've thrown up?

Lighthearted, but I've got this horrid cold and cough.

I'm wfh today and couldn't be bothered to make lunch, so I had a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes. After eating I started coughing, then wretching, and eventually throwing up 'a lot'! Omg, CNC is without a doubt the worst thing I've ever thrown up. The smell, the taste and the texture means I don't think I'll ever eat them again. I ended up in a vicious circle, where my puke was making me puke even more. This comes from someone who has been sick a lot. I had morning sickness for 8 months when pregnant and tried to eat all sorts. But this was far and away the worst thing ever! Completely ruined cereal for me!

Baked beans that I must have barely chewed. They came out like a round of machine gun bullets!

Wheeeeee · 19/12/2023 17:17

Thanks to pregnancy sickness:

Vegetable noodle soup - the noodles got stuck in my throat and nose and the bits of veg looked like I hadn't chewed at all
Muesli - scratchy
Cup of tea was peculiarly horrible

A Pret super greens and reds sandwich - it was alarmingly green, like regurgitating Kermit. Very traumatic for a fan of the Muppets.

Chips. Fucking disgusting.

Also, tea, right after it went down, so still hot.

Mindovermatter247 · 19/12/2023 17:44

Halloween 2010, got norovirus and the last thing I ate was hot dogs, still can’t eat them now. Even cooking them for the kids makes me feel sick. The taste of them coming back up was not pleasant 🤢

I had a really bad sinus infection (plus bad morning sickness) in this pregnancy and obviously couldn’t take anything for the infection. I threw up pure mucous, the sight of which made me throw up more so shut my eyes but just knowing it was mucous and the texture kept me going for ages 🤢 was so so gross.

This has genuinely made me heave! 🤣 I need to leave this thread now

turkeyboots · 19/12/2023 18:39

Beetroot soup. Thought I was a gonner til I remembered eating it!

HarimadSol · 19/12/2023 19:04

Grapes. The skins got a bit stuck on the way up, so my body decided to be even more enthusiastic about giving them the old heave ho.

blackheartsgirl · 19/12/2023 19:08

I’ve thought of another.
The drink Taboo, back in my sixth form student days, threw up an entire bottle of that, haven’t touched it since. The smell 🤮

rainbowbee · 19/12/2023 22:01

A combination of ribena and vodka mixed with prawn cocktail crisps. We were 15. We were all sick. A long time later, I still can't go near any combination of the above.

ohhollyfred · 19/12/2023 22:01

2 x HG pregnancies. Sick all day every day for 9 months and absolutely 100% agree spaghetti bolognaise. It burns soooko bad

Giggorata · 19/12/2023 22:21

Everything made me sick when I was pregnant, including sips of water.

I agree about that very worrying bright yellow bile.
Not only tasted disgusting but I knew I'd emptied my stomach, so this extra stuff shouldn't have been pouring out of me…should it?

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 19/12/2023 23:05

We learned about vomiting in great detail on my vet med course for some reason. Although it’s often impossible for the stomach to empty itself completely, as you throw up more and more it has to get further and further down the digestive tract to find something to throw up. That’s why if you haven’t eaten recently you’ll often have great wracking dry heaves and then the yellow or sometimes green bile. It’s also why on my fun hospital trips I’ll often down glass after glass of water, not just because I’m horribly dehydrated but so my body doesn’t have to force bile up from my small intestine and had something nearer at hand to work with.

charabang · 20/12/2023 00:06

I puked in the bath once. Whole Skips came up. They floated.

ItAintGonnaGoDownEasyIfItAintCheezy · 20/12/2023 08:52

I was sick after drinks and a chinese once. A prawn, a little tiny one from special fried rice, came out my nose.

EightChalk · 20/12/2023 10:09

Chocolate! It was like this burning hot paste. Absolutely awful.

HoneyButterPopcorn · 20/12/2023 10:09

Let’s face it. 99.9% of what comes back up is incredibly unpleasant (100% if it is the green/yellow acid or milk).

eandz13 · 20/12/2023 10:23

Anything tomatoey, particularly bolognese sauce. Putrid!

On a better note, fruit pastels and Vimto are just as fruity on the way back up. Makes sickness bugs easier to deal with!

Mimilamore · 21/12/2023 19:29

Cockles and Guinness.... to be honest not me but my husband, didn't like him that night 😕

Thistlelass · 22/12/2023 03:33

I threw up the contents of my bowel following an endoscopic procedure on my small intestine. The intestine wall perforated. Now I waited till the Cinsultant and 3 medical students came to check on me. They opened the curtains around my bed and I duly projected it onto the floor. As soon as I realised what had come up, more followed. I found it quite traumatic.

treacledan71 · 22/12/2023 03:38

Pernod and black. Was in my teens. Was very drunk. Thought my mouth was bleeding. Days of when carpet in the bathroom. Mom was not impressed.

MoonlightMemories · 22/12/2023 03:47

When I was younger I had this real thing for eating cheese and crackers with pickled baby onions. One day I was really craving them very badly, ate like a whole jar of them! Except it then ended up not agreeing with my stomach....and I threw up all the cheese and crackers and all the very acidic, vinegary pickled onions. Stomach acid is very acidic anyway but this was something else altogether - the taste was horrific and it was coming out of my nose as well. Really not something I'd recommend experiencing!!

Jifmicroliquid · 22/12/2023 07:08

A mince pie. I can still remember the smell and taste of it. I’ve not eaten one for over 30 years as a result.

winniethepooped · 22/12/2023 09:01

This thread is excellent 😂 Can relate to so many. Very recently got food poisoning...vomiting rice is hard going....keeps getting stuck!! Put me off rice for a few weeks

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 22/12/2023 09:10

I’m going to change my answer and say vomiting blood has been my worst, but the worst thing to vomit is… nothing. Dry heaving for minutes on an empty stomach until your body dredges up some bile to eject is horrible (can you tell this is five minutes ago?)
