What's the worst thing you've thrown up?

Lighthearted, but I've got this horrid cold and cough.

I'm wfh today and couldn't be bothered to make lunch, so I had a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes. After eating I started coughing, then wretching, and eventually throwing up 'a lot'! Omg, CNC is without a doubt the worst thing I've ever thrown up. The smell, the taste and the texture means I don't think I'll ever eat them again. I ended up in a vicious circle, where my puke was making me puke even more. This comes from someone who has been sick a lot. I had morning sickness for 8 months when pregnant and tried to eat all sorts. But this was far and away the worst thing ever! Completely ruined cereal for me!

In terms of things that have put me off ever eating them again, Chinese meals (this has now happened twice). In terms of overall really badness, a couple of pints of neat blood. I have oesophageal tears and am supposed to go to hospital when I have involuntary vomiting, but it’s normally only threads of blood. When you’re suddenly dry-heaving out pints of blood and it tastes and smells like a butchers shop it gets terrifying immediately.

Minestrone soup - the loooong noodles exited via my nostrils.....

Onionringheaven · 19/12/2023 14:37

@Southwest12 wow that must have been horrible.

I've thrown up spag bol. Not pretty looking and tasted like I'd put parmesan on when I hadn't.

Chilli vodka. I thought it was bad on the way down but it hit my stomach and bounced

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 19/12/2023 14:38

JESUS @Southwest12. I thought fecalvomiting was always fatal and that my frequent hospital stays (think LOTS of dry heaving and vomiting bile before they just give up and prescribe three lots of emetics at the same time) were miserable. Congrats on surviving that!

gano · 19/12/2023 14:41

When I came down with norovirus, the first thing to come up was a very hot, and spicy, jamaican brown stew chicken. It was nearly 3 years ago and I've not been able to enjoy eating it since. It was always my favourite dinner.

Southwest12 · 19/12/2023 14:43

I don't know how to reply properly, but faecal vomiting for me was secondary to a bowel obstruction (I've a stoma). When it can't go down it eventually has to come up.

CactusMactus · 19/12/2023 14:44

Other end... but got a rather dicky tummy after drinking a pint of beetroot juice (Dr Tim says it's miracle stuff). Liquid red poo.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 19/12/2023 14:51

Pernod without a doubt

yarnwitch · 19/12/2023 14:55

Weetabix. I had to stop eating it when I had morning sickness. It's so bitty it gets stuck in your mouth, throat, teeth and doesn't rinse out. Anything with rice for the same reason.
A KFC with Pepsi that came straight back up was very unpleasant

mrsbyers · 19/12/2023 14:57

Shit when I had a bowel blockage

WhenWereYouUnderMe · 19/12/2023 14:57

Noodles. They came out the full length as if I'd never chewed them.

I had HG in 2 pregnancies so I've thrown up a lot of different things but tomato soup was probably the worst. It burnt on its way back up.
Spag bol was also not pleasant.

This word for word.

The nicest thing in my HG journey was rice cakes and water. They were warm and soft coming up and didn’t taste of anything. After discovering that I ate a lot of rice cakes!

bearsbeets2 · 19/12/2023 15:00

Another person who had HG and vomited up to 15 times a day for 9 months.

The worst for me was always things with potato in, when I discovered I clearly didn’t chew my food well enough. Chips and mushy peas or leek and potato soup were particularly bad!

everycowandagain · 19/12/2023 15:01

Wensleydale with cranberries..... haven't been able to face it since.

MysticalMegx · 19/12/2023 15:04

The weirdest thing EVER. Went for Christmas drinks and a meal a few years back. Had a snowball before I left, went for a curry and then drank lager at the pub after.
Got home feeling very drunk. Threw up the chicken in big dry lumps, absolutely no liquid AT ALL came back up?!

PubicZirconia · 19/12/2023 15:10

Honey roasted peanuts 🤢That actually hurt.

Vodka cranberry

wildwestpioneer · 19/12/2023 15:13

CleanHankie · 19/12/2023 14:03

Curry. Couldn't tell you which one but my vomit was beautifully red. The colour of a glossy Red Setter. Which is why it took 24hrs to realise I'd tripped over the dog on the way to the bathroom and vomited over him, as well as my bedroom floor and the bathroom.

I have vomited many times in my life, but the colour of that will remain embedded in my brain forever

'Like a glossy red setter' just had me howling (see what I did there) with laughter

I had a really bad sinus infection (plus bad morning sickness) in this pregnancy and obviously couldn’t take anything for the infection. I threw up pure mucous, the sight of which made me throw up more so shut my eyes but just knowing it was mucous and the texture kept me going for ages 🤢 was so so gross.

2/3 of a bottle of my future father in laws malt whisky

HennyPenny123 · 19/12/2023 15:20

My friend once vomited a half smoked cigarette. No idea how she managed to swallow it in the first place! 😂

SeaViewLove · 19/12/2023 15:27

Spaghetti.

Capz · 19/12/2023 15:33

Spaghetti, that I hadn't chewed properly and that had been followed by copious amounts of Pernod and blackcurrant. My friends had a right laugh pulling it out of my nose as they held back my hair 😂
