Anyone want to shares there’s? I have a few but the that upsets me is swapping 4 pizzas for 2. Come on Tesco do I not feed the adults or not feed the children?

I've got mine coming tomorrow for the very reason that I am expecting something to be missing or subbed. Ocado are usually pretty good to be fair but their packing is shit. Last two weeks I've had split cream and yogurt containers that have leaked everywhere Angry

gotomomo · 22/12/2023 17:27

Not recent but I had a sub of newborn sized nappies when I ordered size 4 pull ups ... driver couldn't see the problem!

mynameiscalypso · 22/12/2023 17:30

Ocado this morning. The subbed the fancy but delicious sounding beef joint I'd ordered for Boxing Day for the cheapest and smallest joint with 1 star reviews online. I dutifully trotted out to M&S this morning to pick up exactly what I'd ordered.

Waitrose this afternoon - croissants (4) instead of croissants (2). Everything else present and correct. Nice one Waitrose.

Snackpocket · 22/12/2023 17:44

I’ve got my Sainsbury’s delivery coming tomorrow morning. In past years it’s generally been good but if anything is missing or a crap sub I’ve got time to pop to the shops. Although it’ll have to be Sunday as we are out all day tomorrow after the foods been!

VioletBeauregardeTheFirst · 22/12/2023 17:59

We totally got lucky on our Christmas sub. 500g of custard for 1kg instead! I don't even like custard 😂 But that's a very happy family. Everything else was in stock. It's a Christmas miracle!!

VioletBeauregardeTheFirst · 22/12/2023 18:04

BitchImTheSecretIngredient · 19/12/2023 20:32

Im picking from 3am tomorrow. Ill try my best not to sub anything Grin

Do you find the earlier you start the more bizarre the substitutions you make??

(Joking by the way. Thank you for shopping so I don't have to) 💐

Mmmmdanone · 22/12/2023 18:08

Just had my delivery. Only sub was goose fat instead of duck fat! Dont know how i'm going to fill in my time over next 2 days now i don't have to run around looking for parsnips (last year's fun!)

Izit · 22/12/2023 18:25

I just got a message from Ocado.

4 x reasonable substitutions
-different brand of brie
-different chutney for cheese
-different brand of maple syrup for Christmas waffles & pancake breakfast
-different type of saucisson for cheeseboard & cold cuts

First world probs Grin

4 x missing items:
-posh chocolate biscuits
-crackers for cheese
-Camembert
-M&S cauliflower cheese

Will nip out for these tomorrow.

Believeitornot · 22/12/2023 18:26

I’m being controversial this year. No online order.

FatCatatPaddingtonStation · 22/12/2023 18:30

My funniest (not Christmas) substitution was my order for size one nappies for my son being replaced with size four nappies! 😂😂

But I stopped online orders because I became fed up of short dated fresh foods and poor quality fruit.

This made me smile

And so the Christmas food shop substitution start…
Lilibert456 · 22/12/2023 18:33

Got up at 5.30 am to get a Tesco delivery slot. Did my Christmas order with them weeks ago. It arrived today with five substitutions all of them not suitable and no pigs in blankets. What supermarket runs out of pigs in blankets two days before Christmas! Now I have to find time in a really busy day to go shopping tomorrow to try and find acceptable alternatives. What is the bloody point of ordering early if you still get subs. Tesco can do one. Aldi next year.

I’m sure you’ll be able to find a packet of bacon and some sausages!

Riverlee · 22/12/2023 18:42

Ocado delivery came earlier -

  1. one brand of goats milk got substituted for another brand
  2. raspberry Swedish icecream substituted for vanilla

I can cope with that.

i have got loads of eggs though because when i was editing the order, they said they were out of stock, so went and brought more.

Catsknowbest · 22/12/2023 18:49

I gave up on Tesco, Asda and Morrisons in the last few years because of the dreadful amount of substitutions or unavailable items. Been using Sainsburys now for two years, very rare to have a substitution and only once an unavailable item.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 22/12/2023 18:50

No online shop this year - but my worst online shop a few years back was Tesco not delivering the turkey I had paid for . I got a few vouchers as an apology as well as the refund .

PainPeas · 22/12/2023 18:52

They ran out of bucks fizz and the chocolates we ordered, sent me a dry wine to replace a sweet and a dry Sherry to replace a sweet. I thought it was meant to be like for like (aka not pinot grigio if you ordered Zinfandel).

Everything else was fine, in fact a few of the extra cheapies got replaced with brand names at no extra cost!

SquigglePigs · 22/12/2023 18:58

Our Waitrose delivery was great. Subbed green beans with a bigger pack of green beans and vanilla yogurt with a different vanilla yogurt (to be fair I sent this back because I'm fussy but it was only for me and it was an entirely sensible sib).

Ocado used to be brilliant at packing - all the veg together in one bag etc. (didn’t you use to get colour coded bags, or was that another store or a dream). Their processes must have changed because it’s rubbish now With some bags having one item in, or a real jumble of stuff. It’s my main criticism of Ocado now.

SugarCookieMonster · 22/12/2023 19:16

Ocado are generally the best for home delivery as the stuff comes from a warehouse whereas most other supermarkets pick from the shelves with walk in customers.

I have given up on online ordering. Last year we did M&S click and collect and as soon as we went to the desk, the atmosphere was tense and we could tell something had gone wrong. Turns out half of almost everyone’s deliveries were missing. Bloke in front was raging about his turkey being missing.

By time we got to the front they were just checking missing items (ours were a dessert and a joint of beef) and loading us up with a bag of freebies. We had a Christmas Colin, bottle of fizz, 2 gammon joints, chocolates and biscuits. We didn’t even say a word she just bunged a load of stuff in a bag and said she was really sorry. We were thrilled with the bonus bits!

Jimmychoo69 · 22/12/2023 19:27

My Waitrose delivery today was great, only one substitute, trio of houmous replaced by a large red pepper houmous. Really happy this year as the dates on many of the items were beginning of January. Well done waitrose 😀

therealcookiemonster · 22/12/2023 19:27

they tried to give me a plain panettone instead of the hazelnut/chocolate one! bastards. I sent it back obv. I had really been looking forward to that :*-(

YesIReallyDidOK · 22/12/2023 19:49

Asda substituted the 15p 1 kilo bag of carrots for one (admittedly huge) lone carrot
