Couldn't see a recent thread showcasing Christmas tat for sale and I just had to share this - described as a Christmas Shrimp.

Oh my I love the shrimp even though I did think it was a fanny at first glance

A local seller is specialising in sea glass ; gutted the santas have sold as they were basically shards of glass with red hats added

Returns are accepted within 30 days. Someone needs to buy it December 1st then return it. I note also you can pay for it at £33.02 over 24 months. It’s fucking hideous but also there’s something about it that’s endearing.

My favourite is the 'Christmas hampers' that spring up on the local Facebook group each year.

The hamper is basically several different kinds of cadburys chocolate wrapped in cellophane and because it has a bow on it, is about 30% more expensive than it would cost if you just went and bought the stuff yourself. Grin

What's even more surprising than the ornate carriage for sale on eBay is that there's another one (different design) also for sale. Who knew.

I shared the 12 Days of Christmas thing with DP and he was speechless.

I'm glad you all like the Christmas Shrimp Grin. I don't know what it's made from, but if I was to guess I would say a wire frame covered in either masking tape or maybe even the crème de la crème that is papier mache, and painted/coloured in.

I have visions of having a dozen Christmas prawns scattered across the table. A brilliant homage to the classic Christmas starter of prawn cocktail. Very kitschy.

Exactly what new jewish parents want, non kosher food.

I help the SIL at several festive craft fairs every year (she sells honey). It never ceases to amaze me the amount of homemade crap people continue to lovingly display on stalls, only to stand sadly by for the next three hours, waiting for someone (anyone) to buy their crocheted/knitted/painted/sewn/tortured tat. Most we never see again, but some will re-surface next year in an effort to claw back some of the money they spent on supplies. Pom poms were a big thing this year, strangely.
