Doesn't have to be your own news, fuck it, share your friends, neighbours or colleagues life wins, I'm happy to hear any.
Lottery wins to relocating your favourite lost marble down the couch when you were 7 in 1984, whatever the news is, if it made you happy hearing it, let me in on it.

The nicest news I've ever heard was the sister of an acquaintance was having counselling to come to terms with failed ivf and infertility.
She was having belly aches and went to the GP who rang a ambulance whilst she was there.
The woman left hospital with a baby! Always makes me teary that one ❤
If I feel a bit shite about things I just imagine the joy that new mummy and daddy got getting to go walk around their local supermarket when home to and pick out some baby grows, or how excited their parents will have been for them.

The best I can do is that I'm not back at work until February. Not exactly news to me as I've known since November. I also have food in my freezer to last a fortnight. Wine too. Those are privileges.

I had surgery in the summer to remove part of my bowel due to a cancerous polyp. The good news is that there is no trace of any malignant cells so I don't need to have chemo or radiotherapy.

YnysMonCrone · 14/12/2023 22:35

@UsedToBeAtAmber that's amazing news, I'm so happy for you.
I'm looking forward to my first Xmas in my own house after my divorce from my abusive ex. He doesn't know where it is and will never set foot in it. I'm determined it will be a happy eggshell free house. Adult Dds and partners arriving over the next week for Xmas together ❤️

PsychoSyd · 14/12/2023 22:38

I got my promotion confirmed today 😀

StJulian2023 · 14/12/2023 22:41

My brother got married this year and he’s just so happy and my new sister in law is heavenly and we all adore her and her family 😊

My DD got a Merit in her trumpet exam 🎺

DS is doing so much better than last year (when he sobbed through decorating the Christmas tree). Counselling has really helped him.

Its the anniversary of DH’s death tomorrow, miss him like crazy still, but actually we are doing pretty okay 🥰

ArchetypalBusyMum · 14/12/2023 22:42

My appraisal at work went well today. Apparently I'm supportive, conscientious, contribute well to decisions and get lots of positive feedback from clients. ☺️ Which is lovely as I really think a lot of my boss, she's brilliant, so her good opinion really matters to me. I have also had lots of jobs with horrible bosses and no recognition so this is a real treat to have someone I respect be so complimentary, officially too. 😆

ArchetypalBusyMum · 14/12/2023 22:43

@StJulian2023 💐 what an lovely family you sound, I'm sure you are all helping each other through.

tescocreditcard · 14/12/2023 22:43

Alex Batty has been found alive and well

ChateauDuMont · 14/12/2023 22:57

This news elated me -
Jon Venables has been denied parole.

Denise, Jamie Bulger'a mother - 'I was dreading Christmas with this hanging over me but now our family can totally enjoy Christmas.'

Catsmere · 14/12/2023 23:09

I sold my old microwave for $400, a very welcome bit of cash, and my sister's offer for a house she and BiL really like was accepted.

DilemmaDelilah · 15/12/2023 08:03

My sisters are coming to see me on Tuesday. That's it! But I love that they are making the effort - the nearest one lives 2 hours away and they're just coming down for lunch, so over 4 hours travelling to be here for just 3. I'm not up to travelling much at the moment or I would be going to visit them.

BlochAroundTheClock · 15/12/2023 08:09

My sister has announced her engagement to a really lovely bloke, which was a surprise to us all, but a good one! She deserves every happiness after what her exdh out her through. And the ring is massive which helps 😉😆

Me, I don't have that many real life friends around at the moment. But I've recently reconnected with an old acquaintance and it's been lovely catching up and to just be 'normal' for a bit.

seenisambol · 15/12/2023 08:13

My SIL is pregnant and was staying with me last week. She had a scare (won't go into detail incase it's triggering for anyone) so I rushed her to the hospital. Amazingly everything was fine. Scan done, heartbeat found. It does feel like a bit of a Christmas miracle.

Plankingplanks · 15/12/2023 08:14

I burst into tears at a meeting yesterday with some pretty senior people in it. Each and every single one of them made the effort to contact me afterwards with some really lovely words, that ironically made me cry again.

I needed to hear those words yesterday.

aLeagueOfTheirOwn · 15/12/2023 08:32

It's my DS's first ever nursery nativity play today, he's playing 'a star' 🤣 it's not really news but it is exciting (for me) x

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 15/12/2023 08:35

Yesterday I bought a cadburys purple snack and it was chocolate all the way through!!

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 15/12/2023 08:35

Hope you are feeling better today @Plankingplanks

NoStarsTonight · 15/12/2023 08:40

I have money left over at the end of the month due to being really strict with myself and being honest with family that I struggle so they have helped me budget, Christmas presents are bought, bills have been paid on time and now I won’t be spending January in deficit- this is huge for me and I am so chuffed.

MegBusset · 15/12/2023 08:53

I got a really good bargain on an air fryer via HotUKDeals (wanted one for a while!) and am collecting it on Monday :)

💐 for everyone’s good news on here

OwlWeiwei · 15/12/2023 08:57

After interning for a few months since leaving uni, and doing bits and pieces of freelance work in a very competitive profession, DS has been offered a job that he really wants.

SweatpantPotato · 15/12/2023 08:59

This is all really nice, thanks so much OP, it's so cheering to read these.

I gave EOY reviews to my team last week and they went really well (even the one I was dreading!) We had fantastic conversations, they felt really collaborative and I think everyone is feeling really enthusiastic about 2024. I'm a newer manager and things have been rocky at times so I'm just really happy with it.

Enko · 15/12/2023 09:00

Dd 3 is coming home today. (From uni)

My great news
