Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my cuppa in my kitchen spot. The washer's on already and I'm about to wash the few pots there are before I head up to get dressed and see if the girls are getting up.

I'm off into town to try and do the majority of my Christmas shopping for them, and they wanted to go as well - but not with me. They were originally heading to Sheffield but I don't want them going too far in case of snow. A nice lunch somewhere will be involved...not sure where yet.

There are Vinted parcels to send on the way, and I have one to pick up on the way back.

Later on we'll pop up some more Christmas decorations. The tree went up last night. It's a tad taller and wider than I thought it was in the Range, but never mind 🤣 It makes me smile every time I look at it! I'll also pop a couple more things on Vinted and decide which craft project to carry on.

Both girls have homework so I'll suggest we have an hour sat together while the Advent candle burns. If not, I'll craft away by myself.

Just finished my coffee, having put the first wash on.

I'm about to hit Tesco, then take ds to swimming club. He can swim while I do some general shopping, then back for lunch.

This afternoon, hoovering, more washing, and tidying the garden.

DS is on a German school trip next week so I'll put all the xmas decorations up while he's away.

Today is dps birthday and we have snow! I’ve been up since 5am as that seems to be when my body decides it’s had enough sleep. Got his presents organised, wrote Christmas cards and been to fat class. Now waiting for the post office to open then home and wake dp up. Pancakes for breakfast then a lazy day watching tv and eating rubbish! PILs tonight for Chinese takeaway and cake.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. My plans are cancelled because of snow, so I'm staying home and writing Christmas cards and wrapping presents. Roast chicken for dinner.

I am currently sat on a plane, just had breakfast, and on the way to Portugal with the wife. Who knew WiFi existed on planes these days? As a no cost thing I mean?

Trying to defrost after coming back from work, waiting for heating to kick in.

Plan for the day is:

Tidy and clean downstairs
Clean car for photos to sell it
Pop to local Xmas markets and secretly do some errands while I'm there.
Laundry- wash on already
Friends over for takeout this evening.

@LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand we have frost but no snow. Definitely a day to stay indoors!

Today is DGS birthday party, tomorrow is our Christmas as DD1 is going away for Christmas. Almost a full house DS2 and GF can’t make it , but that’s still 16 for lunch . So today will be doing veg , post office run , dropping of DSIL birthday gift ( cigar 🤷‍♀️) then a disco for 5 yr olds ! Wash load on and had egg sandwich and a posh coffee for breakfast. Last thought … got to heat greenhouse… going to try tea light and terracotta pot 🤞

I’m still in bed with a coffee. It’s so cold! Dh and ds19 are gone to work. Ds10 is on his ps4 and dd15 is in her friends since yesterday so it’s lovely and quiet here. No plans..bit of tidying up maybe and get the fire lit. I bought one of those karcher window vac things,might try it out later on the French doors. Chinese tonight, Man U on the telly and a bottle of wine!

I've been up and fed the feral cats and kittens I'm trying to socialise for being adopted. What a chore that is! So one load of cat related fabrics is in the wash.

My OH has gone for a run round a lake so I'm now sitting waiting for his return and then I'll make our last Bruscetta of the year with feta and the last of the ripe tomatoes for brunch.

I'm feeling like a curry day today so will make that, then sort out some seeds some for soaking and eating (beans), some for myself growing in 2024 and the rest will be going for swaps and give aways.

Whilst I'm waiting I'm sat firmly under our indoorsy cat watching the tellybox.

Still in bed waiting for DH to bring me a cup of tea. We all have the virus from hell so it's going to be a full on lazing around duvet weekend. I lost my old boy cat on Weds and after losing 1 of the kittens 2 weeks ago I'm feeling very very fragile. Just want a nice peaceful weekend with no hassle! And my appetite to come back would be nice...

Ive been up since 7.30 but just doing my usual lazy morning. It’s dismal and cold and foggy outside so no plans to go out. Having friends over for dinner this evening so need to get organised for that although DH will do most of the cooking. I’m making a daal. Have had tea and toast but am still hungry so may make more toast.

@TM1979 - I’d forgotten I had a Karcher window vac and used it this week to do the downstairs windows. Was dreading it as I thought it would be a huge job. The Karcher makes it sooooo easy and quick! I just used a basin of hot water with a bit of Fairy Liquid in and washed the windows with that and then used the Karcher.

@Justonedayatatime11 it does sound like you need a restful day. So sorry about your cat 💐

I'm going to see my Grandson who is 4 and my partner in crime😁he lives 2 hours away so I don't get to see him all the time and I can't wait.

I know he's going to spend the time cuddling me,jumping on me and running around like a mad man whilst dragging me along with him and we'll both be very happy and very worn out by the end of the day.

I am dropping off some bits at my wedding venue- wedding is tomorrow 😊
Then going home to pack!

@Peridot1 I’m hoping it works magic on the kitchen doors and windows, the cats and the dog have them destroyed. When it’s sunny you can hardly see out!

Topsy turvy weekend here.

I will be spending almost all day in the kitchen making "Sunday" roast, washing school uniforms & PE kits and birthday cake.

Blitz the house a bit for tomorrow (teenage birthday outing with more teenagers then back her to trash the house no doubt).

Still worse days to be indoors. The frost looks pretty out of the window.

I'm going over to the next town because we're holding a Women's Rights Network stall, handing out our Christmas leaflets.
I've wrapped up like the Michelin man but know that I'll still be freezing, standing in one spot for a couple of hours.
Looking forward to going for a coffee afterwards.

I am horrifically hungover a couple of Friday night drinks turned into a Pogues kitchen disco and had a really lovely night with my oh. Was very much needed, we've had a tough year relationship wise but things really seem to be on the up lately. Am going to get my butt in the shower and hopefully come out of the bathroom feeling refreshed! Some Christmas shopping today then an Indian takeaway tonight. Hare of the dog may feature at some point. Tis the season

Morning @lucysmam.
Put thermals on then 5am walking dog then filled 2 x 20 litre water carriers with warm water for the horses.
6am and -6. Got to yard and dug out a path from barn to indoor arena. Turned horses out then mucked out etc.
Just got home for a coffee, thank god for thermal wellies and sealskinz. DD not in house so presuming she got herself up and on the bus for school.
Got to gut the house ready for getting Christmas tree tomorrow.
Will flop on sofa with wine sometime around 7pm.

I went out with colleagues last night and did not go to bed until 1. Have not woken up with a sore head but I am knackered from all the dancing! Have just eaten a McDonald's breakfast. I have to do some cleaning and bits around the house and then later I am taking ds2 to a housewarming gathering while ds1 goes to watch a football match with DH.

Oof @dontforgetme I do not envy you one bit with your hangover 🤢 Sounds like you had fun though!

We have a snow day! About four inches and still falling so doing very little today.

Our town is pretty much cut off as we're rural - DH is out with the dog and I'm at home eating pancakes
