I was looking for a thread but can't see one... sorry if it's a duplicate!

A quiet start with a coffee and a bath. Dp's children are coming over later which I'm excited about, then they're off out and I will potter round the local Christmas craft fair. We might get a tree later, very early but we have lots of early Christmas stuff happening this year.

The eldest dog woke me up at 5.30am to go out in the garden (I try to see the positive in this!).
I’ve got the beginning of a cold so I’ve dosed up on Echinacea.
Off to take DD ice skating with her friend this afternoon, brrrrrr

bucksfizzforbrekie · 02/12/2023 08:37

Still lounging in bed. Dh got up with the baby and let me have a lie in.
Thinking of heading to a cafe for breakfast but the weather looks a bit treacherous so not sure yet. Later on we will pick our tree ready to put up tomrorow. I'm meeting friends for a Christmas gathering and a few drinks later so only time will tell how late and loud that one gets!
Ideally I'd like to be home in time to snuggle up and watch strictly but we'll see.

Awake since 5a.m. (thanks, perimenopause!). Got up at 7:30, made a cup of tea and faffed about on MN rather than bothering to get my knitting out, which is how I usually like to spend my weekend early mornings before the rest of the family gets up.

I have a long weekend (day off on Monday) after an unusually busy and demanding week, which is a relief! Dh and I are going away overnight tonight and going to the theatre, which I'm really excited about. The tickets and b&b stay were a birthday present from dh.

I’m going to go to the local high street soon, as I’m hoping to get a couple of Christmas presents. DP will be very happy with a range of mustards, chutneys etc from Waitrose so that one will be easy!

Having my hair cut and highlighted this afternoon.

Depending on what time I finish, we might go to a vegan fair at a local pub afterwards.

Will either cook pasta for tea or eat out.

Sk8erboi · 02/12/2023 08:48

Having a tea in peace now while my sons (9 & 13) are still asleep.
We are going to a craft morning at the church and then will put our tree up this afternoon.
We always do our tree, get a takeaway and watch Xmas films but my 13 year old has asked to go out with his friends and I'm a bit sad that he's growing up 😆

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/12/2023 08:49

Oh and I’ve also been awake since 5, dicking around on the internet.

InAMess2023 · 02/12/2023 08:51

Motivational morning... getting the house blitzed before putting the decs up this afternoon (with a quick pit stop to get a nail fixed and to B&Q for paint)

Then a cosy night in with a bag of Lebkuchen and mulled wine... I had planned to watch a Christmas film but think Strictly and the football appeals more in this house!

PinkPlantCase · 02/12/2023 08:52

We’ll be introducing our 6 day old baby girl to her great grandparents today 😊

NegativNancy · 02/12/2023 08:53

Currently sitting on the sofa crossed legged, finishing my makeup with a pot of coffee while fiance has a lie in. We're going out for a Christmas tree later so got a lovely afternoon ahead of dressing the tree with a bottle of wine, then a roast chicken dinner later. Awesome Saturday.

PermanentTemporary · 02/12/2023 08:59

Naawwww @PinkPlantCase that's lovely.

Morning! I'm on my way home. Was at a concert last night and am now making my way home contemplating a Mcdonald's breakfast as a treat.

Midnightstar76 · 02/12/2023 09:03

@Birchvalley I beat you to it up at 4.20 with younger dog 10mths wanting a wee. Then she would not settle if I went upstairs(she sleeps downstairs) so I made a cup of tea, scrolled on phone then she fell asleep on me so I grabbed an hour on the settee. Off for a shower in a minute. DD’s are off to have haircuts with their gran and a meal so I am going to wrap Xmas presents whilst they are out. DH has been out on his first of two Xmas do’s and stayed at his mates so expecting him shortly. Really hoping I don’t have to pick him up from his next do as hate driving in the dark and will be more or less an hours worth of driving for me.

Kim82 · 02/12/2023 09:03

I was up for 6.45am today as I was too cold in bed and had to get up to put the heating on. It’s bloody Baltic today!

I then spent 1.5 hours just sitting on the couch in my oodie, drinking tea and complaining about being cold. Spurred myself into action and I’m now showered and dressed, put the recycling out and the washer is on. Dh is still lounging about in his dressing gown and dd9 is also still undressed but is making a gingerbread house.

The Tesco shop is due within the next hour so need to put that away then we’re returning a god awful mattress we bought for dd9 and ordering a replacement. I’ll then leave the dc with dh and I’m off to buy a funeral outfit for my mum’s funeral on Monday and I need to pop into the office and print the eulogy as I forgot yesterday…

Dd19 is working today and dd16 probably won’t surface until 3pm.

Tea tonight is a quick and easy pasta with tomato and marscapone sauce with some veg thrown in and I have a mini bottle of Prosecco so I’ll have that with my tea. Then it’s shower, cosy pjs and a film before bed.

coffeetofunction · 02/12/2023 09:05

I've just got back from dropping DD and her BF at the train station, climbed back into bed with a coffee. Put the electric blanket on and the heating, going to watch Saturday kitchen in bed

Equimum · 02/12/2023 09:06

I've just washed the kitchen floor and put a laundry load on. Kids are playing on the Switch and DH has nipped out to get something he needs to repair the shower.

later this morning we're taking the kids to their swim lessons, then off to a Christmas decoration place. Youngest has a riding lesson mid-afternoon, then we're going to call by the Christmas tree farm and cut our tree. I think it might be a burger night for tea, and probably a Christmas film.

veiledsentiments · 02/12/2023 09:06

Going to my niece’s wedding up in London town. Don’t live in England, so only arrived in the UK on Thursday. Haven’t seen my ED, parents or sisters since my nephew got married in September, so will be good to be with the family.

user6776 · 02/12/2023 09:08

Just been to pick up something I bought off Facebook marketplace. Now stopped off for breakfast, will go home and get some jobs done then off out food shopping. Putting up the Christmas tree also. Busy day!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/12/2023 09:26

Sorry about your mum, @Kim82 . I hope you can find a lovely outfit for her send off. xx

JenniferJupiterVenusandMars · 02/12/2023 09:35

I’m sorry to hear about your mum @Kim82 .

Awake since 4 because DH banging doors downstairs, he’s an insomniac and has no consideration for anyone else 🤬. I have a splitting headache and I am trying to pack for a week away. It’s freezing fog and black ice here so driving will be fun 😵‍💫. We’re 2 miles from the main road and apparently that isn’t gritted so 11 miles to the motorway on black ice.
I’ve pretty much packed my stuff, the dog’s and food so I think I am sorted. Must find my gloves and scarf.
Hoping the weather bucks up before we leave but forecast isn’t looking promising!
