Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my cuppa in my kitchen spot. The washer's on already and I'm about to wash the few pots there are before I head up to get dressed and see if the girls are getting up.

I'm off into town to try and do the majority of my Christmas shopping for them, and they wanted to go as well - but not with me. They were originally heading to Sheffield but I don't want them going too far in case of snow. A nice lunch somewhere will be involved...not sure where yet.

There are Vinted parcels to send on the way, and I have one to pick up on the way back.

Later on we'll pop up some more Christmas decorations. The tree went up last night. It's a tad taller and wider than I thought it was in the Range, but never mind 🤣 It makes me smile every time I look at it! I'll also pop a couple more things on Vinted and decide which craft project to carry on.

Both girls have homework so I'll suggest we have an hour sat together while the Advent candle burns. If not, I'll craft away by myself.

I'm in my second coffee and about to get in the shower.
Quick tidy round and put a wash on then I need to finish the Xmas decorations.
This afternoon we are going to the school fair and then to a big toy superstore so the youngest ds doesn't want anything for Xmas

I've been up for an hour or so, everyone else still upstairs. Ive put a uniform wash on, transferred some almost dry things into the dryer to finish off and am now I'm my usual spot on the couch with tea and toast.

Very cold here but beautiful sun glinting off the frost.

This morning we need to take one of the teens bikes down to the local bike workshop for repair, if they can do it "while we wait" we will probably get a hot chocolate in the cafe over the road while we wait.

This afternoon we are thinking of starting getting the decs out, not sure yet but there's not too many weekends left! We might do upstairs this weekend and downstairs next weekend. Will see.

It's burgers for tea tonight we don't eat beef so they are chicken mince burgers. Brioche bun, wedges, coleslaw etc.

I’m cooking curries this morning as we have 12 for supper this evening. Prosecco is chilling, table is laid and looking lovely. I even popped a little tree in the dining room and it’s twinkling as we speak.

Then it’s off to our local town where my choir is performing at the Christmas market. DP’s are driving 2 hours to hear me sing - like I’m twelve again 🙂DD is helping on the Scouts stall, DS will potter about with a friend.

I’ve already been informed by my kids that no food can be served this evening until the teens/ tweens have watched Dr Who!

Good morning everyone, we’re due a little cold snap so we’re setting off in a few minutes to do a bit of shopping etc so if needed we only need to leave home for work and school.

After that we’re off to Skansen, its an open air museum and it has a really good christmas light trail, so we’ve booked to go there this afternoon so we’ll probably go out for our tea as a treat afterwards.

Off to a craft fair shortly then DD has a party. I'm going to buy something sparkly to wear for the work party while she's there 😊.

We're about to get on a 27hr flight for my DD to meet her DGP for the first time! Can't believe it's actually today 🙈

Morning @lucysmam and the Saturday morning gang. I was out late last night (dinner with my bookclub) so I had a nice, long, lie in this morning. DD was up early for work and fed the cats.

Going to get something small for breakfast and then venture out to the supermarket. I'm hoping to pick up a present for my Dad also (old man cardi in M&S - he's more of a cardi person than a jumper person).

When I get home, I need to clean the house or at least, the kitchen. I also need to put up the remaining baubles (we didn't quite finish off the tree when we put it up) and shift the boxes back up under my bed.

If I get all of that done early, I might wrap some presents. Then Strictly later. I've to collect DD from her work party around 11 tonight. Just hoping it's not too frosty or icy at that hour - I don't fancy driving on icy roads.

It's really frosty but also sunny here, so it looks very wintry/Christmassy. So pretty!

@DDecafflatteplease Women's Rights Network was set up a couple of years ago.
The initial focus was to defend women's single sex spaces ie no men in women's toilets, hospital wards, prisons, sports etc

That's still our main focus but we're also branching out into other areas of women's rights, campaigning against violence against women etc.

Morning everyone .

Exercise done and dog walked, very chilly out there. Pic attached.

Wash going on shortly then off to Lidl. Another dog walk later then going to watch the local rugby team with my dad, then DD and I will put the tree up, watch Deck the Halls and drink pop / mulled wine (me /her).

Drinking tea and trying to thaw out with a hot water bottle - discovered kitchen door had been left open for a couple of hours, so no wonder it's cold in here.

When my hands have thawed out sufficiently I'm going to clean out the cupboard where I keep my spice jars. Some of them have been there for years - the ones I've bought for a recipe, used once and then never used again. Also planning to make spiced pickled red onions for Christmas buffet table.

Shopping for a new mattress later, maybe I'll have a comfy bed for Christmas.

I've just literally booked our holiday for next year to Portugal, going back to a place we particularly love! Looking at the snow outside, I'm wishing I was on a plane!

My plans for the day are dropping DD in town with a friend, laundry, finishing The Supermodels on Apple TV, then dropping DH at the pub for drinks with a friend later. I'm happy to stay in the warm today tbh. Tree 🎄is going up tomorrow!

I've been up, got some bedding in the wash and have all the kids laundry to do..

Hoovered and mopped in readiness for putting the tree and decorations up.

Other than that, just chilling at home. I like to have lazy weekends as much as possible as we have insanely busy jobs and very active week days.

I have packed my case, food, the dog’s stuff, my crocheting and books so need to put it in the car when it’s defrosted. It’s bitterly cold here.
Off to hear a Christmas Oratorio tonight, should be a lovely evening. Little planned beyond that, hoping to get some nice walks done next week while we’re away 🤞🏻

Slow start to the morning here. I'm pottering about trying to decide where the best spot is for the Christmas tree, DD8 is drawing/watching TV. We need to head to town shortly - Post Office to send her Christmas card and school photos to her dad and grandparents who live in France. Also need to buy a birthday present for her friend whose party is tomorrow. I've said we'll have lunch out as a treat. Swimming lesson for DD late afternoon. After that we'll come home and light the advent candle and maybe watch a Christmas film. I'll make a start on the Christmas cards once DD in bed

Morning all! Had Sainsbury’s delivery, bracing myself to put that away after a coffee, and have sorted more of the laundry. Off to the cinema
this afternoon whilst DD is at a party and picking her up enroute home for strictly. Some of the weekend cleaning done in between!

Sitting in a car park waiting for my Foster Son to finish his cricket practice then going home and then have to wrap up many Xmas gifts this weekend because I'm doing 'Fake Xmas' next weekend as all my DC can make that weekend.

My cat booted me out of bed at stupid o'clock so she could get in the warm bit and sleep. I'm having my 5th coffee of the morning and downloading the close to 500 photos and videos of my products I spent all bloody day yesterday retaking because the first lot I took were shit.

Then it'll be some editing of them and reupload to my shop.

If I have time I'll crawl under the dining table, curl up into the foetal position and have a brief sob.

I've just got back from the gym. It's freezing outside 🥶 Picked up my new curtains as we've just redecorated the frontroom so need to get those up. But right now I need a hot coffee and a nice film to watch to warm me back up lol 😆

Putting up the Christmas to Prodigy. Dh at work. 16yr old dd still in bed. Putting up the tree is boring apparently. Just like last year. Wish she was still small and it was exciting. Miss those days.
Also thrown the bloody ball a million times for the sausage dog as he's bambi outside on the ice and safer inside!
