Whamageddon 2023!

Anyone else been whammed? We didn't even make it to the end of the first morning of the first day of December!

Ds and I were sitting in the waiting room (we had just arrived for his appointment) and he pointed out that Wham! were on the radio with Last Christmas. I wasn't even meant to be taking him to the dentist but dh wasn't well. Looks like it must've just been my time 😭

Please tell me I'm not alone!

I heard it in the opticians waiting room and the co-op today. I'm well and truly out so may as well count how many times I hear it!

@spamm if someone whams you on purpose then it's not supposed to count according to the breakfast show 👍

Still in it, haven’t got this far in about 4 years. Works do on Friday will probably be the one that gets me! Mind you I haven’t heard any Christmas songs at all yet!

Still in (for now). Local radio station were playing Christmas songs from 8-9am so had to listen to my own music just in case I heard THAT song... lol!

I thought I was out when I heard the familiar notes yesterday, but it turned out to be a purely instrumental version. So not strictly speaking Whammed, as it were. What are the rules on covers?

Out on the 4th (Greatest Hits radio in the car). Went for it and watched the Netflix Wham documentary yesterday. George was a genius and Andrew very lovely.

Still in. It feels dangerous going to the cafeteria at work right now, because they always have great 80s and 90s music on, including Uk stuff (am in Virginia, USA). I am enjoying the Christmas stuff much less cause I figure they will play it at some point. Also just survived a quick trip to the mall.

Out! Knew it was inevitable with so many stalls at so many different Christmas events booked... was whammed almost immediately whilst setting up at a primary school xmas fair... surprised I made it this long tbh...

I'm out. I was working at a craft fair on Tuesday night and I've a feeling I heard it playing in the background. I was busy at the time so I'm not 100% sure. But I was at a cocktail bar earlier tonight and they definitely played it.

What a great Christmassy song though.

I lost last week, when I was trying to close down a video of cats destroying Christmas trees and accidentally hit the sound up button. "Humbug" was not quite the word I muttered.
