I really feel for their families, it must be tortuous x praying for good news.

People will always talk and speculate, i's human nature. It's especially disturbing when you have teenage boys of your own.

There was a fatality in my village, two young boys racing, they closed the village down completely, but of course everyone knew and it was all over Facebook, long before any announcement.

It's tragic and my thoughts have definitely been with the families today. i'd love to be wrong and for a happy ending.

I think it's a bit inappropriate of one of their girlfriend's parents even speaking to the media.

The utter naivety of MumsNetters not understanding how the tabloid/gutter press works and how they get these statements.

I did not mention a major news article. I mentioned a reputable and confirmed source, such as the authorities.

Did she speak to the media, or was she commenting on the police post clarifying information when the boys were classed as missing?

One family member has already found this thread, maybe it should be left now. The majority of posters have been respectful but there is an undertone of judgement, speculation and posters saying what those close to the boys should and shouldn’t be doing. It leaves a really bad taste in the mouth.

precisely - I doubt she approached the media to make a comment. She was likely put on the spot and had no idea what was best to do / say and so was honest and human.

I wish those who think the discussion should be closed down would not click on the thread, and just ignore it.

For the rest, most of us are interested, concerned and wishing/hoping that this has a good outcome. Of course there will be speculation, comment and judgment etc. but that is the nature of discourse on an open forum like this.

It is human nature to be curious.

So sad. Four bodies have been found according to North Wales Police.

Sadly, we can confirm four bodies have been recovered from a car which appears to have left the road on the A4085 at Garreg, near Tremadog.

Supt Owain Llewelyn said: “At present, this appears to have been a tragic accident, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the four young men at this very difficult time.

“This has been an extensive search involving a number of different agencies and volunteers, and this is sadly not the outcome that any of us would have wanted. We would ask that the family be afforded the appropriate privacy and respect.”

Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances that led to the car leaving the road.

I feel so sad, what an incredibly awful tragedy. My thoughts go out to all their families, I can’t even imagine the heartbreak they must all be in. RIP to all of the boys xx
