Christ, this is like Nicola Bulley all over again with all the speculation.

Think about their families for goodness sake

The police and families will be aware of the current situation by now.

They will either know they have been found or they will have a fair idea of their probable location due to the nature of the area.

Finding the car will give them the vital information they need. And they've got that.

JustHereWithMyPumpkin · 21/11/2023 13:53

Oh this sounds awful, their poor parents must be going through hell with worry. I really, really, hope that the boys are safe and well.

RhannionKPSS · 21/11/2023 13:54

I hope those lads are found safe& sound

romatheroamer · 21/11/2023 13:46

Totally confused by this. After 10 am emergency services attended an incident, as reported by them. But latest report says ambulances going through cordon. Was 10am incident sthg unrelated?

The car was found and an ambulance was despatched as a precaution, in case they were in the car or near the car.

MadeForThis · 21/11/2023 13:59

I hope it's good news for the boys and their families x

MossGrowsFat · 21/11/2023 14:00

Agree with pp, many here know that it is by the grace of God go thee.

It is fear and compassion that makes me follow such a story. They could be anyone's son's/friends/brothers. My thoughts are with the family.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 21/11/2023 13:51

masterbeth Most are not speculating, just concerned.

I'm wondering why you and your ilk are here though? To rub your thighs in delight and add your wisdom, or lack thereof? Sad.

Delight? No, I find all this depressing.

HappySolomon · 21/11/2023 14:03

Why are you posting that? The BBC site is being updated quicker than anywhere else. Also whoever said about forensics being mentioned on twitter, genuinely can't find a thing on there?

RedToothBrush · 21/11/2023 14:04

The boys are either in the car or are within a couple of miles of the car.

There is no reason to suspect anything different and the comments made here about a car accident or going to the known hazards in the area will be no different to what the police will have said to the parents involved.

The most likely scenarios are car accident, cave accident or walking accident. These are not wild speculations. They are realistic concerns.

The police knew where to look from the phone data and a member of the public presumably alerted by the publicity contacted the police about the car.

The police wanted the public to act and be involved or they wouldn't have put a media call out.

It's important to understand these risk in order to prevent incidents in future.

We will find out in due course what has happened.

when I was looking through twitter something came up about forensics but it was a different incident I think that's maybe just crossed wires.

Unverified of course. But the account appears to be an ITV news reporter.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 21/11/2023 14:06

I think I worry more about my kids now they are young adults than when they were idiot toddlers who tried to hurt themselves in ridiculous ways as soon as my attention was diverted. There were many times when I was that age that only luck stopped me from coming to serious harm, and I don't want to rely on luck to keep my precious babies (who are now big, hairy, muscley babies) safe.

I'm so sorry for those who are worried about these lads. Hope they are home for a cuddle and a telling off soon.

actually ignore me there is a forensics van

StardustGiraffe · 21/11/2023 14:06

Forensics van is on the BBC article now :(

Pinkdelight3 · 21/11/2023 14:06

People used to turn up in droves for hangings. They can also do acts of great kindness. I don't know what makes anyone think that human nature has changed so much over the centuries, let alone since the Nicola Bulley case. There's a whole spectrum of responses from fear and fascination to empathy and upset, often in the same person, all at once. If it depresses you, best to not read the threads, but it won't ever stop people feeling things and wanting to share them, whether on social media or over the garden fence.

RoseAndRose · 21/11/2023 14:07

RedToothBrush · 21/11/2023 13:08

The other point here is that ALL the phones are dead. Why?

If something had happened to one, then one of the others could go for help. Unless something has happened to all of them. (Which is possible if someone goes for help, gets lost and then gets into trouble themselves - but the weather was relatively good).

What does that suggest?

ALL the phones being dead isn't a good sign after two days.

It suggests they are all in an area with zero reception

also, I’m heartened by the ambulance service statement. They wouldn’t be sending that number of assets if there were no signs of life

PecanPeach · 21/11/2023 14:07

Yeah the forensics van doesn't sound good at all. The poor parents and families.

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 21/11/2023 14:07

they will need the forensics van for the car

Edited

That's an ITN reporter.

I think that can be regarded as a fairly trustworthy account tbh.

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 21/11/2023 14:07

Forensics will be searching the car site for clues as to their status and whereabouts. It's pretty standard.

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 21/11/2023 14:07

StardustGiraffe · 21/11/2023 13:45

Hopefully but the ambulances were called just after 10am, that's a long time to be on the scene.

The ambulances would have been called as soon as they found the car. They will have all relevant emergency services in place. The last thing you want on a remote rescue scenario is to find injured people then have to wait. Given the time they have been missing they will want to get the, straight into an ambulance even if they appear ok

Sassy306 · 21/11/2023 14:08

I was watching the Welsh Air ambulance on flight radar earlier today. It landed just off the A4085 near the Croesor Waterfall Hike shortly before 11am then departed about 20 mins later.
Wasn't sure it was connected at the time but it seems to be the same area 😑

Yes I agree, but it's always prudent to take things on social media from unverified accounts with a pinch of salt until it's otherwise confirmed.

TokyoSushi · 21/11/2023 13:37

It all sounds very ominous, poor boys.

I'm not particularly surprised by the phones being out of battery, DS often goes out with his on about 3% before he's even set off. I suppose the more concerning thing is that nobody has been in a position to charge their phone at all in the intervening period.

The phones could also be in an area where there is no signal, so that's why the phones are seen as "off" or going straight to voicemail.
