Are you really ok with having another Tory government? Because in all honesty that is what you'll get.

No I'm not OK with it; and I blame an ideologically captured Labour Party who's only job was to represent Labour voters and be an effective opposition.

This. I'm FURIOUS with Labour over this.

@tiggergoesbounce It's not that the Tories are the party of women's rights. It's just that they aren't the pro paedophile pro cross dressing men pro abuser pro wiping out of women's rights that Labour are. The Tories have actually improved some women's rights, such as their changes to domestic violence law. It's like the petrol tax accelerator, it was more green than the Green Party would ever admit.

I think the evidence shows that the Tory party are more pro paedophile, pro cross dressing men, pro abuser, pro wiping out of women's rights than any other UK party.🤷‍♀️. Given the numbers of offenders in the party and their record on women's rights over the 13 years they've been in government.

JanewaysBun · 18/11/2023 19:24

I voted strategically for Labour last time because I wanted to avoid more Boris but honestly it's terrible that we have only two piss poor options, I won't be happy to see either party in.

ehb102 · 18/11/2023 19:30

Jamie Wallis certainly puts the hole in the arguement. "Sigh*

daytriptovulcan · 18/11/2023 19:30

Keir's not worth walking to the Pollong Station for.
My vote tends not to count in my constituency in any case.

itto · 18/11/2023 19:33

Starmer is not supporting any kind of policy that I would usually associate with Labour. He doesn’t support strikes and workers’ rights for better work conditions, doesn’t plan to reduce university fees, and now threatens to sack MPs asking for a ceasefire. His plea for longer COVID lockdowns and forced vaccination has also proved wrong in my view. I would have voted for him regardless because I have a brilliant MP who doesn’t share his views. However, after he clearly expressed his support for cutting water and electricity to a civilian population, I can’t bring myself to vote for Labour. And I am fine with the consequences of that. I abhor the values he stands for, which are essentially white supremacy. The lives of thousands of brown children (and adults) are so utterly worthless that they aren’t worth even a ceasefire, let alone any kind of justice.

JMAngel1 · 18/11/2023 19:36

How on earth can you refer to stances on Palestine and gender as nonsense?

jasflowers · 18/11/2023 19:42

@itto As much as i despise the Tories, i really am struggling with Labours stance on Israel/Gaza, we are witness the attempted destruction of the Palestinians in Gaza and he condones it.

My area is Con, with a Lab/ LD split, i'll be voting LD unless he grows a backbone.

LeRougeEtLeNoir · 18/11/2023 19:46

You know the saying ‘when someone tells you who they are, believe them’.
Starmer has told us all who he is.
I think we should all believe him. He isn’t going to grow a backbone.
Unfortunately, LD are non existant where I live.. not sure who on Earth we can vote for

minipie · 18/11/2023 19:55

LeRougeEtLeNoir agreed, he has told us who he is. So have numerous Tories. I don’t love either option but I know which one scares me most.

I think we need to consider who we are envisaging when we imagine the 'least worst'. It's not the women who will be locked in prison cells with men I think , or the women who will be assaulted or traumatised in 'womens' wards. There is a certain privilege in being able to consider labour least worst though of course on some scales they are.

Women have been locked up in prisons with men. Under the Tories.

Women have been assaulted and traumatised on women's wards. Under the Tories.

There's massive privilege in being able to consider the Tories the least worst option. Massive, massive privilege.Hmm

scatterolight · 18/11/2023 19:58

I want to see both parties absolutely destroyed. But that won't happen simultaneously. First the Tories need to be destroyed and Labour get a landslide from voters who simply have no other option. And then in intervening years a new party will hopefully form that is actually socially conservative with reasonable common sense policies and they will destroy Labour in 2029. Depressing to have to wait so long.

Kendodd · 18/11/2023 20:07

All those people planning to vote Tory because of self ID etc (and ignoring the fact the whole shit show has unfolded under their watch, what you going to do if your Tory candidate is fully on board with TWAW (quite possible)? I suspect, you'll vote for them anyway.

Tories stood against the anti women manoeuvres on Scotland. Labour were pro them. The most vulnerable women oay the biggest price for gender self ID.

no I wouldn't. I can't vote for misogyny.

I didn't suggest Tories were least worst. I suggested that that the judgement of who's worst depends on where you're standing. Sure the wealthy might think labour are the worse but so too might those women who suffer because Kier thinks men matter more.

CauliflowerBalti · 18/11/2023 20:20

I have zero time for any whiff of ‘Tories are the party for women’ when their policies evidentially hit women and children hardest, from welfare to the pandemic management. It astounds me that people can be so easily swayed by culture war red meat bullshit. Which isn’t dismissing gender critical views. Just the critical thinking of those that believe the tories are on their side. They’re not.

literalviolence · 18/11/2023 20:26

I don't think Tories are on women's side. Just that labour are more actively anti women and will do damage which will take generations to recover from (when we lose the word woman to describe women, we lose the ability to show how oppressed women are).

CauliflowerBalti · 18/11/2023 20:28

Are Labour planning on getting rid of the word woman?

literalviolence · 18/11/2023 20:29

Yes by making it a free for all so men can say they're women

jasflowers · 18/11/2023 20:38

The Tories have been killing women and babies in maternity units.

Almost two-thirds of maternity units provide dangerously substandard care that puts women and babies at risk, the NHS watchdog has said in a damning report

The CQC judged overall quality of care to be inadequate or require improvement at 85 maternity units, almost as many at which it rated it to be either good or outstanding – 87. The number of units offering substandard care has soared by 30 in the last year, from 55 to 85.19 Oct 2023

Seriously? women are going to vote for this????

(its not just maternity either, its Ambulance, AE, Dentistry... all classed as unsafe or not available)

Are Labour planning on getting rid of the word woman?

Boris reduced the fees to get a Gender recognition certificate to £5 and opened up several more GRC clinics.

Under the Tories, EACH YEAR over 450 men become, legally, women with a GRC, self ID with the Tories, just live like a women for 2 years and you get a GRC, 96% of applicants get their GRC, then can then legally, use womens spaces.

Its unbelievable, the world has gone mad and we are voting for it.

TeenDivided · 18/11/2023 20:44

A lot of the gender stuff has happened not because of Tory policy but because 0f capture by stealth of senior civil servants and managers in the NHS etc.

The shocking thing is even now when it has been exposed so many political parties aren't prepared to come out and clearly be pro single sex facilities. It would be simple enough to do. So why don't they?

Charlie2121 · 18/11/2023 20:54

I'm amazed that a single person ever votes Labour. They favour victimhood over personal accountability. That destroys society.

The inevitable Labour victory next year will be the final nail in the coffin for the UK.

Teaandbiscuits60 · 18/11/2023 20:57

Excuse me but I’ve lived in wales all my life and we’ve had a Labour government a long long time and it’s been absolutely awful! In my ward we’ve come together and voted the Labour council leader out in favour of an independent thank god! People in wales vote Labour because their grandfather did rather than think for themselves…. “My grancha always said…”. The Tories are NOT the only other party. Let that sink in! Living with Drakeford in charge is horrendous. You do not have drive everywhere at 20 miles per hour do you??? We blinking do. I agree the Tories should not be voted in but NEITHER SHIULD LABOUR!! I hate them and how they’ve ruined this country ( meaning wales).
