All weekend they’ve been going off here. I just want to scream - GIVE IT A BREAK

It's Diwali.

MammaWeasel · 12/11/2023 19:20

Yes.....we think it might be diwali

TakeMe2Insanity · 12/11/2023 19:20

It's Diwali.

That’s right, it’s Diwali today so we have got fireworks going off where we live.

TeaKitten · 12/11/2023 19:20

I’d expect a few fire works tonight… it’s bound to happen isn’t it.

TheresaCrowd · 12/11/2023 19:20

Yes because it's Diwali.

They started bang on midnight last night.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 12/11/2023 19:21

Yes. It's Diwali today which also celebrates with fireworks.

BarbaraVineFan · 12/11/2023 19:21

It's Diwali. Should be over in a couple of days.

Indeed.

I mean I bloody hate them but there's a legitimate reason for fireworks today. It's Diwali, this is one of the very understandable nights for fireworks to be going off so it seems odd to complain about them.

MintGreenPolo · 12/11/2023 19:26

A few but I like fireworks 💥

Oakbeam · 12/11/2023 19:31

No. We had them on the 5th of November but I haven’t heard any since (or before).

CrispsandCheeseSandwich · 12/11/2023 19:32

Yes.

I know it's Diwali, but we've also had them basically every night since about mid October.

Not sure how people aren't bored of them by now.

caramond · 12/11/2023 19:34

It's Diwali so it's understandable.

Saying that, some were going off at 3am last night. 😡 As well as every night since Halloween...

chantico · 12/11/2023 19:36

I'd expected it, because of Diwali. But not heard anything, possibly because it's raining. Maybe it'll happen later?

Bendysnap · 12/11/2023 19:38

Lots of Diwali fireworks here

Multipleexclamationmarks · 12/11/2023 19:38

Not as many as I expected seeing as it's diwali.

RampantIvy · 12/11/2023 19:38

No, because I don't live in an ethnically diverse area. In fact, we have had very few firworks going off outside of the bonfire night weekend.

TigerRag · 12/11/2023 19:39

Yes still going off here

stargirl1701 · 12/11/2023 19:39

No. Just the 5th here but we are in rural Perthshire.

Robinbuildsbears · 12/11/2023 19:41

Loads here, more than on bonfire night. Wondering where all those haters who think they should be illegal are, they were so vocal about it before.

Mumaway · 12/11/2023 19:42

Right now, even though it's not bonfire night, it's 5 degrees and pissing it down

No. It's freezing, raining and Diwali isn't a thing here.

littleducks · 12/11/2023 19:44

Yes, very few last weekend think they got quieter version for council display and didn't hear many. This weekend is nuts, local Facebook complaining about used fireworks being left in park/street. Really hope they change rules so fireworks need to be quieter as it doesn't seem to affect the lights.

LittleGreenDragons · 12/11/2023 19:44

I know why it's tonight but why was it every night last week too? From 4pm to 2am. Just shut the fuck up.
