All weekend they’ve been going off here. I just want to scream - GIVE IT A BREAK

We've had them more or less every night since the evenings were drawing in. Sometimes just random bangers even when it's light. The weekend before Halloween it ramped up and despite rain quite often, starts as soon as it gets vaguely dark. Obvs the night before and after Bonfire night as well as the night itself was loud. This week both Friday night and last night was insane too and heard loads tonight, assuming for Diwali. My poor dog is frantic every night lately 😕

goingtotown · 12/11/2023 19:45

They started last night for Diwali, they were the loudest fireworks I've heard. My dogs were terrified.

GoingDownLikeBHS · 12/11/2023 19:45

Yes going on now. I think they should only be allowed at organised displays on one or two nights. End of.

splashparrot · 12/11/2023 19:46

There is some fire works tonight but it's pretty awful weather, I bought some sparklers for the dc but they don't want to go outside.

Duckingella · 12/11/2023 19:49

I'm from an area that has enormous Diwali celebrations;it's louder tonight than the 5th November;my dogs are really stressed.

I love fireworks but could do without the noise;I wish all domestic ones were the quieter ones some places are selling this year.

SophieJo · 12/11/2023 19:53

We’ve had fireworks near us for a few days before and after bonfire night but nothing like the loud bangs tonight! Those type of fireworks should be banned.

Atethehalloweenchocs · 12/11/2023 19:55

Its not Diwali over the road for me - or rather, its not their culture - they are just fucking arseholes who dont bother to let us know when they are having fireworks. No time to do all the things I did last week for my scared dog - who is now beside herself.

IwishIdidntlikesugar · 12/11/2023 20:01

Im listening to lots right now for Diwali. I did get a shock last night when some really loud ones suddenly all went off at the same time out of nowhere.

Loads here, more than on bonfire night. Wondering where all those haters who think they should be illegal are, they were so vocal about it before.

So why would they come on and repeat themselves?

Beezknees · 12/11/2023 20:03

Yeah, I've heard a few tonight. They don't bother me.

stepintochristmas1 · 12/11/2023 20:03

No not since last weekend , even then only a few .

Potterinthegarden · 12/11/2023 20:04

Yes flipping heck it is ridiculous. They start going off way before bonfire night and just seem to go on and on it is annoying!

Potterinthegarden · 12/11/2023 20:05

I agree that they are now excessively loud.

BlueEyesGotMeLike · 12/11/2023 20:07

Loads here tonight, we’ve had them every night for the last couple of weeks. I fucking hate them and wish they were banned. We have lots of animals and some are very unsettled.

RampantIvy · 12/11/2023 20:08

I agree. There is no need for them to be noisy these days.

Gnomegnomegnome · 12/11/2023 20:10

None here ever.

greengreengrass25 · 12/11/2023 20:10

Yes going off here

Just need to stop by 10pm

It annoys me when people have to get up tomorrow

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 12/11/2023 20:12

Loads tonight but I thought there would be more because of Diwali

NotSoLittle · 12/11/2023 20:12

Yes - right now - also had a few random ones between midnight & 3am most nights since before the 5th :(

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 12/11/2023 20:13

LuluBlakey1 · 12/11/2023 19:43

No. It's freezing, raining and Diwali isn't a thing here.

How can Diwali 'not be a thing' there?

lemonyellows · 12/11/2023 20:14

Some. But only this evening

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 12/11/2023 20:16

Yes, it’s Diwali. Cat seems used to them now. She usually hides.

seikoo · 12/11/2023 20:19

Beezknees · 12/11/2023 20:03

I mean .. I’m not selfless and consider that it impacts animals, affects livestock and probably not great for newborns and some elderly with how loud they are.

As long as your good though

It does make me laugh that even though Diwali has been mentioned a million and one times on the thread already, you still get another person saying it.

I think we get it’s Diwali everyone.
