I once read that she’d told him she expected another baby every time he cheated. ☹️

I've most track of the number of times I've made this same comment on threads like these but FYI it is very unlikely that your great grandma gave birth in her 50's. Much more likely that she was bringing up one of her daughters children who was born out of wedlock.
Giving birth in your late 40's or 50's is almost impossible without some medical intervention

Given that the children she bore were undiagnosed twins that were delivered by a doctor......it was indeed her own children she had at 52.

Just because it happened didnt mean thats all that happened.

This is a very interesting point and good to bear in mind when researching family history- however there are definitely women late 40s and even early 50s who have had babies naturally.

But of course other people do all the fun stuff when they’re in their 20s and early 30s and then have the parenting years and then more fun stuff in retirement. Swings and roundabouts.

Pp said she's 51, so if her dc is 20, she had him at 31... 13 years of adulthood isn't enough?

Enough for what? Better that people have children when they are ready for them. The average age of a first time house owner in the UK is now 37. Raising a young child in the Uk of rental market with limited protection and high costs is pretty unappealing to significant numbers and I don’t blame them.

AV age of menopause is 51, range goes up to 55. So it's possible because her egg kicked out an egg and his sperm got jiggy with it.

This can’t be right though because I had periods until 57. I’m not saying I was fertile but I’m only just menopausing

itsmyp4rty · 11/11/2023 21:39

Gordon is 57 - when the baby is 13 he'll be 70. Neither of my OH's parents reached 70, both died in their late 60's. I think it's really unfair on children to have them so late when the chance of you not being around to even see them into adulthood is pretty high.

tillytoodles1 · 11/11/2023 21:41

My mum was the youngest of ten, born when my grandma was 49. She had nieces and nephews older the her.

PaperSn0wAGhOst · 11/11/2023 21:43

There’s a difference in normal people having babies very late and rich people having babies very late. Rich people can pay for medical checks, early treatment, the best food, personal trainers etc so they are more likely to live longer.

I know women who died in their 20s/30s/40s. Cancer doesn't seem to care about age.

The younger Ramsay children will be very well provided for and want for nothing. They are very privileged children and they will have their older siblings too.

Hellenabe · 11/11/2023 21:48

I've met him a few times through work and he's pretty leery. I get the impression Tanas own family are horrible so Gordon is her rock.

PinkRoses1245 · 11/11/2023 20:26

Nah, totally irresponsible. And very unfair on their older children. No one should have more than 2 kids

Unfair in what way? They are all adults! I don't believe any of them are still living at home! How precisely is it unfair on them?

I'm pretty sure Gordon said after his son was born a few years ago that they were really enjoying being parents this time around as they didn't have the pressures of building their careers that they did when their older children were small. It certainly didn't sound like they were relying on much help but really focused on parenting themselves

villet · 11/11/2023 20:49

Did they use ivf or have any help ?

I’d say that’s an absolute certainty. Of course someone will come along and tell me several people they know have had children in their late forties but it’s as rare as hens teeth.

Can someone tell me how it's possible le at 49? Does it mean she somehow hasn't gone through the menopause?

@pinkfongg Why would you think all women have concluded the menopause aged 49?

Lots of women continue to have periods and remain fertile into mid 50s easily and some longer.

Lots of women are not fertile, easily in mid 50s don’t talk such utter shite.

A friend had a baby at 49. She had fertility treatment in Spain. She had donor eggs, hormone treatment to reverse the menopause and a cesarean birth. Her body is absolutely knackered after every pregnancy complication you can think of. She's 57 now with a child still in Infants school.

Janieforever · 11/11/2023 21:57

I think she definitely carried the baby, there are comments from people who had seen her with a bump, she just kept it secret. It is likely though ivf with frozen embryos from when she started the ivf journey, so could be as early as 31. But likely a later round. Suspect they maybe even picked the gender. Women much older than her can carry a baby in this manner.

never quite sure why some folks are so obsessed with surrogacy.

Wills · 11/11/2023 21:59

tothelefttotheleft · 11/11/2023 19:48

She didn't look like someone who had given birth. I thought the photos felt 'off'.

And your problem? Agreed no money no support but in these cases what’s the issue?

Sunshineismyfavourite · 11/11/2023 22:08

Wow! Good for them. I remember they lost a baby when she was 20 weeks pregnant a few years ago. I have heard of several couples, friends included, who have gone on to have more babies than they may have otherwise planned to have after suffering the loss of a baby. Apparently some couples are always searching for their lost one which may explain it. I wish them well.

Sorry I meant that as a Google says... Not an absolute. Obv th y base it on most people, and there will be outliers either side of 45-55

How is your "lots of women are not fertile" any more true?

Lots of women are fertile in their 50's, I am one of them. I wish I wasnt btw, but I am. Lots of women are not, my sister is one of them.

Neither statement is "Utter Shite".

Uricon2 · 11/11/2023 22:12

I'm very close to my sister who is 16 years younger than me. She was born in my mother's 40s. Nan 40 odd too when she had Mum, gt gran 52 when she had her last.

As starts in life go, I've got no worries for the new Ramsay baby, why would anyone? Stable family, good track record as parents, no financial issues.

Violahastings · 11/11/2023 22:13

Wow 24 year gap between full siblings!

So Tana’s daughter must be around the same age Tana was when she gave birth to her and became a mother. But she is becoming a big sister instead 😁

I don’t think it’s a bad thing the baby will have plenty of siblings and love around them plus they are obviously very wealthy.

PinkRoses1245 · 11/11/2023 20:26

What exactly should I have done with .y second twin? Put him up for adoption to a childless couple?

Twizzletoe · 11/11/2023 22:16

Had net seen this news. Good luck to them and the rest of the family too, sounds like newest kids have the older ones to look out for them. I’m still having periods at 56 but may not of course be ovulating. Personally I would be devastated to find myself pregnant not at this age. Youngest doing GCSEs whilst I have friends and cousins who are grandmothers seems bad enough. I definitely would not welcome a repeat of the newborn years at this age.

ChateauMargaux · 11/11/2023 22:22

Bloody Hello magazine said.. they already have two sons, Jack age 23, Oscar age 4 and three daughters Megan age 25, Holly age 23 and Tilly age 22...

Anyone would think we were in the Victorian era and they were landed gentry.... FFS... daughters are not less than sons and Megan was their firstborn.

Miamonthly · 11/11/2023 22:25

They are going to be fiiiinnneee.

Gordan is worth 610M and brings in 90M a year.
