Can you drink a whole bottle of Prosecco?

Most Friday nights I drink a bottle of Prosecco to myself. Sometimes I have a gin and Tonic as well, or a glass of wine. I often have a nice relaxed feeling but don’t feel drunk. Is this a bad sign? I feel like Prosecco is easier to drink and goes down quicker and easier than wine. I am going to do dry January and go until the end of lent, but am enjoying drinking what is probably too much at the moment….but it’s easy to tell myself this is my normal and rationalise it, so checking in with other people as to whether this is a worrying amount of booze….

*pissed, not passed

@LaDamaDeElche it’s something very weird that red wine does to me! I so rarely drink it because although I really love it I get the worst heads the next day.
I wouldn’t be falling down drunk after it and not obnoxiously singing out loud like pub karaoke 😂 occasionally dh and I will
share a couple of bottles at the weekend and I can definitely feel the effect on me at the time. I’m quite a merry loving drinker though!

Haha yes the pints and wine yesterday was an early pre Christmas drink up with my favourite colleague as we realised yesterday would be the last time we would be in the office together this year - we got a bit carried away hence the no food and emergency pasty purchased at Waterloo just before the last train home 😂

White wine does the same to me. I never drink it anymore!

I switched to gin and slimline for the sake of my health....😄Less sugar than wine, and wine gets me pissed so much more!!

firsttimemam8 · 12/11/2023 03:21

Easily, especially in a social situation.- I switched out to Whisky as I had to sip it and it helped me cut back a little (and I enjoyed it more).

Not been drinking much as have young baby but know that if I started back on wine/prosecco it wouldn't take me long for my tolerance to go back up 😂

DeeCeeCherry · 12/11/2023 05:48

No, because I don’t like Proscecco enough anyway. I don’t really drink now I'm older, my body doesnt seem to like it. I was only ever a social drinker. & sparkling wines give me a headache before I've even finished the 1st glass. Back in the day I could easily neck a bottle of Ginger Wine or Fortified wine, no sweat at all. Both stronger than Prosecco.

I would need to be hospitalised after a full bottle. I don’t drink at all so I have zero tolerance.

I think it’s awful to have the tolerance to drink that much. A few glasses maybe but a whole bottle?

It’s probably best if you don’t drink a bottle seeing as you “don’t drink at all”. Thanks for the input thought. Enlightening

I couldn’t drink a whole bottle of anything without feeling very, very unwell. 2 glasses of wine is my absolute limit.

prosecco (any sparkling wine) makes me feel dreadful, even the tiniest bit. one of the joys that came after the menopause.

water?

This thread is making me feel a whole lot better about my weekend choices haha 😆 I say each to their own! I can easily drink a bottle of Prosecco and a cocktail, do any of you babes have a hangover cure? Xx

porridgeisbae · 21/12/2023 21:21

do any of you babes have a hangover cure

Prosecco :)

BurbageBrook · 21/12/2023 21:50

I can, I'm always surprised how quickly and easily I can drink Prosecco at a party or wedding. That's why I never have it in the house as I wouldn't want to be tempted to drink too much at home. Usually I have red wine and I usually drink no more than a glass or two of that.
