What food do you hate?

Inspired by another thread.

Could be anything.

I ant actually think of many foods that I dislike, but I am quite particular about how things are cooked.

The main things I don't like are meat or seafood that I'm not used to. I'm not veggie and love meat and fish but certain things like duck, squid, venison I couldn't eat.

OP posts:

Coconut, shell fish and crustaceons, beef casseroled or stewed (ie with fat and gristle, reminds me of school dinners), mashed potato with lumps in it.

DustyLee123 · 10/11/2023 17:09

Prawns, I don’t get the hype.

SM4713 · 10/11/2023 17:11

I eat everything!
I'm not keen on wasabi/horseradish or English mustard, but do keep trying them, because I'd like to enjoy beef and horseradish one day.

Mushrooms. Hate them. And most fish.

tillytoodles1 · 10/11/2023 17:13

Tuna, lamb, any game.

Sparehair · 10/11/2023 17:14

Eggs unless they are cooked so they’re completely solid, including egg based sauces like Hollandaise and mayonnaise. They are the only thing that I would literally not be able to force myself to eat.

There are other things that I’m not that keen on but could eat them to be polite.

Wishimaywishimight · 10/11/2023 17:15

Only thing I absolutely cannot bear to touch my lips is goat's cheese.

Vinorosso74 · 10/11/2023 17:15

Bananas. I would like to like them but can't eat them. I've tried them covered in chocolate, soaked in booze, in smoothies, cake but no, they're not for me.

WeShallHaveFogByTeatime · 10/11/2023 17:15

Rhubarb. It's the only fruit/veg I can't stand. Makes me feel nauseous just looking at it. It's the one thing everyone manages to grow so it gets offered to me quite a lot.
I completely understand people who can't be anywhere near herbs like coriander, even though I love it myself, it's the same feeling I get about rhubarb. It's Satan's food.

RicherThanYew · 10/11/2023 17:16

Stew, bleurgh. I also hate casseroles with turnip/parsnip or leek.

DustyLee123 · 10/11/2023 17:16

I can’t eat liver now. And last time I had steak and kidney pudding I thought it smelt of wee. Yet I’ve eaten both lots as a kid.

idontlikealdi · 10/11/2023 17:16

Quite a lot...

Eggs in any form
Fish - all of it
Seafood - all of it
Lamb
Gelatinous meat eg pork cheek, or shin of beef
Anything on a bone

loobylou10 · 10/11/2023 17:17

Celery, revolting food of the devil, and aubergines 🤮

MrsMitford3 · 10/11/2023 17:18

I hate aniseed flavour.

I also have such a strong hatred of truffle oil that I can't even bear the smell-it makes me feel ill.

Can do without mushrooms and don't like raw ginger since I tried to eat it to combat morning sickness. It did not work but left me hating it.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 10/11/2023 17:19

Sweetcorn
Egg mayonnaise
Aubergine

FuckingHellAdele · 10/11/2023 17:21

Rice. Which I know is ridiculous as it basically sustains two thirds of the globe's population, but I can't bear it in any form.

Irritatedandfedupandsad · 10/11/2023 17:23

Celery
Pineapple
offal
seafood
pate

Roselilly36 · 10/11/2023 17:23

Seafood
mushrooms
Courgette
Olives

MrsALambert · 10/11/2023 17:23

Cheese sauce. Makes me gag.
And smoked haddock. Hideous flashbacks to childhood and the house stinking.

SiobhanSharpe · 10/11/2023 17:24

Such a deadly dull thread.
Who gives a flying fart what other people can't, or more likely, won't eat?
It doesn't make you special or interesting in any way, rather the reverse.
I'd far rather hear from people who ate sheep's eyes in Jeddah or fish bladder in Sinkiang province and lived to tell the tale.

girlmeetsboy · 10/11/2023 17:29

Bananas, doughnuts, bacon, pastry - I realise I'm very odd (as told by my work colleagues every day!)

loobylou10 · 10/11/2023 17:30

@SiobhanSharpe start your own thread then if we're all too deadly dull for you 😂

swingtowin · 10/11/2023 17:31

Peanut butter- makes me heave!

Robinbuildsbears · 10/11/2023 17:32

Mayonnaise, awful stuff.

Frostine · 10/11/2023 17:33

Been a non meat eater for over 25 years , including any item containing animal derivative ( rennet , gelatine etc ) used to eat occasional fish but haven't for well over a year so guess more vegetarian than not.
Foods I don't eat , baked beans , fried eggs , nor egg mayo. Sweet sandwiches such as jam , honey , chocolate spread etc , also nothing sweet on toast as before except very tart homemade lemon curd .
Oh yes and adding sweetcorn as well.
