What food do you hate?

Inspired by another thread.

Could be anything.

I ant actually think of many foods that I dislike, but I am quite particular about how things are cooked.

The main things I don't like are meat or seafood that I'm not used to. I'm not veggie and love meat and fish but certain things like duck, squid, venison I couldn't eat.

OP posts:

Offal (apart from haggis!) and beetroot

exerciseviligance · 10/11/2023 17:35

Offal
Olives
Celery (i can eat it cooked)

Not keen on avocado either but can tolerate it as guacamole with plenty of added flavour.

sprigatito · 10/11/2023 17:39

Shellfish of any kind
Cheap processed meat (spam, crap sausages, crap ham etc)
Offal
Any fatty or gristly meat
Overcooked or tinned vegetables
Anything adulterated with matcha
Sandwiches without butter (perverse)
Cheese and onion crisps (feet)
Chippy chips that aren't absolutely fresh and piping hot...the race is on to eat enough of them before they turn gross and flaccid
Gravy that isn't made fresh with meat glazes
The grey minging "meat" in most sausage rolls

Tarragon- only herb I hate, so therefore also hate tartar sauce
Offal
Salad cream and mayonnaise
Milk and milky things like custard's, rice pudding, bread and butter pudding etc
Almond flavours is Bakewell tarts, Altho I like almonds
Coconut
Food that's meant to be hot, served lukewarm or cold
Cooked carrots but I like raw carrots
Can only tolerate mushrooms in small doses
Hate mushroom soup

Will eat everything else although even if I'm not keen, I can generally manage to eat it to be polite with the exception of offal

Raera · 10/11/2023 17:41

Anything that looks at me like a whole fish and shellfish still in their shells.

Augustus40 · 10/11/2023 17:42

Salad cream.
Hard boild eggs unless a Scotch egg.
Very fatty greasy food.

Tocktocknearlybedtime · 10/11/2023 17:42

I struggle in restaurants with a large menu because as I like most things, I can't choose. Plus I make so many decision at work all the time that by the time I go out to eat I'm all decision-ed out

RandomUsernameHere · 10/11/2023 17:43

Another vote for goat's cheese, I don't think I could eat it without throwing up

Such a deadly dull thread.
Who gives a flying fart what other people can't, or more likely, won't eat?
It doesn't make you special or interesting in any way, rather the reverse.
I'd far rather hear from people who ate sheep's eyes in Jeddah or fish bladder in Sinkiang province and lived to tell the tale.

Are you ok?

Dillane · 10/11/2023 17:46

Baked beans

Oakbeam · 10/11/2023 17:46

I can’t think of any food I hate. Hate is a strong word. I can think of a few I’m not keen on but will eat if there is nothing else. Beetroot, for example.

There is no tarragon in tartar sauce

BrimfulOfMash · 10/11/2023 17:52

Raw flesh - sushi, anything ‘tartare’, carpaccio etc. but love pink beef or lamb.

Bread and butter pudding and anything else involving wet bread: summer pudding, bread mopping up gravy.

holidaywin · 10/11/2023 17:53

Cheese even adverts for it make me feel ill.

summer squash
mackerel
shiso
tapioca
canteloupe

Torganer · 10/11/2023 17:53

Yorkshire pudding
Gravy
Suet pudding
Hot fruit (crumbles etc)
Tinned fruit
Jelly
Sweets (Percy Pigs and the like)
Sauces that come in a jar (tomato pasta ones-too sweet)
Anything with cinnamon in it

I think I’m the sort of person that would eat most things, but writing this down, obviously not!!

Ihaveawonderfulpartner · 10/11/2023 17:54

I dislike lots but I despise soup. Any kind. Turns my stomach. And I can't bear peas. Particularly mushy 🤢

Carsarelife · 10/11/2023 17:55

Celery - taste like perfume
Iceberg Lettuce - just no
Anything fake Strawberry flavoured - love actual Strawberries though

Jeez, Siobhan, who hurt you?

IHeartGeneHunt · 10/11/2023 17:58

I'm vegetarian but before I was I would eat anything. I never found a food I actually dislike.

Mistymountain · 10/11/2023 17:59

Runny egg yolk, even a picture of it turns my stomach

Mrsjayy · 10/11/2023 18:00

I don't like roast lamb or lamb chops olives are horrible and controversially Biscoff I can't stand it and it seems to be in all puddings these days.

purplecorkheart · 10/11/2023 18:05

Goats Cheese, Blue Cheese and Corriander. There are other foods I dislike but those three are my absolute hates

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 10/11/2023 18:05
