If the salary didn’t matter and you could do any job, what would it be?

Just asking because I was thinking I’d probably work with children in some capacity but maybe only two days a week and spend the rest of the time with my own DC. That would not be enough to keep me afloat financially though!

So curious… if money didn’t matter much, would job would you like to do?

I'd like to run a wine school or be a travel agent.

Animal rescue.

In fact if money was no object and there was a vet course where you don’t have to do euthanasia/abbatoir work, I’d train as a vet and work in a wildlife rescue centre.

When I was a student I worked in a library putting the books away. It was a very calming and easy job.

In terms of a bit more challenge, fun and fulfilment - working in the local pre school, but without any of the admin/compliance stuff.

Very different to my current job, but that’s my win-the-lottery dream life.

Social Prescribing could be the one for you!

Independent book shop or art gallery that sells art. But the book shop would be my first choice.

Lyric soprano, performing mainly on the European festival circuit.

Stable hand/horse trainer

I'd work in a museum, preferably a "living" museum, maybe give tours/explanations, i.e. somewhere like Beamish or Blists Hill, or maybe a heritage steam railway.

Run a cat sanctuary

I'd do my job but part time so I could do my hobby more.

I had to give up my job as a teaching assistant in a specialist provision school which I absolutely loved. But I couldn't make ends meet in the end and I had to leave. I was heartbroken. So I'd definitely go back in a shot if money wasn't an issue

Theatre director. I’ve done it as an amateur and would love to do it as a pro with a budget.

I'd work in a cattery.

I'd like to be in charge of a big group of highly skilled restorers and we would work on beautiful old buildings bringing them back to life. Obviously there would be no paperwork or red tape. I'd help out with the work, so a bit of sculpture, a bit of woodwork etc etc.

Read to children and help them genuinely love books. I love reading children’s literature, especially anything by Michael Rosen so genuinely derive great pleasure from reading to my DC. I always said I’d like to open a little patisserie somewhere one day too so maybe could combine the two. Sell yummy cakes and read Michael Rosen books to kids.

I’d teach

Novelist. Set my own hours, not have to talk to anyone.

This would be mine too.

Care assistant. I started as that and now I'm a senior manager in a care organisation, but the job I most enjoy and that I'm best at if I'm
Honest is the actual hands on care. Which I never get to do anymore. If I could afford it I'd go back to it in a heartbeat.

I'd be a jewellery maker.

Journalist. A proper investigative one, not a tabloid gossip monger.

I'd review restaurants and hotels. And I'd give work advice for free to anyone who needed it.

Or else I'd love to be a Window dresser in the big stores. I love a trim up and I'm known for being good at seasonal pimping of the home-I wish I could have turned that into a career.
