I made a thread last time so thought I'd do another for those of us who are due to receive it. Due to be paid between 31st October and 19th November.

Anyone had theirs yet? I haven't, nobody else I know who is due it has either.

I got mine thursday. Put £100 credit on british gas, £100 on electric and left £100 for emergencies.

Nov29 · 06/11/2023 09:02

not got mine yet either!

MistyGreenAndBlue · 06/11/2023 10:26

So, Monday has rolled around and still nothing. I don't get the pending notifications on my banking app so I'm just waiting to see. 🤞🏻

Is everyone who has already got it on UC? I was on tax credits until mid September when we were told to switch to UC so we did and got the first payment last week. Haven’t had a text or letter from HMRC or UC about this payment so worried we won’t get it.

TransformationChynaDoll · 06/11/2023 10:45

@Helpyelp you won't unless you received a UC payment in August

Jessjessjess124 · 06/11/2023 10:57

I’m in receipt of tax credits and haven’t received mine yet :( are we receiving it after uc? Has anyone on tax credits received there’s? Thanks!

Tax credits is 10-19 November I think. We are on tax credits 🙂

Helpyelp · 06/11/2023 11:37

I didn’t but I received tax credits until mid September and then had to switch to UC so got first UC payment last week. Guessing we just fall under tax credits still so should get it later? Hope so anyway.

Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby · 06/11/2023 12:39

Nope. Not entitled to it. Low income job and on minimum wage but I'm unable to claim for anything else except single persons council tax. The reason I can't claim anything is because I'm deemed capable of getting a full time job. Easier said than done when every job I've applied for are either zero or 15 hour contracts.

I'm on UC and haven't got mine yet. I'm definitely entitled, I've been on UC for nearly 3 years.

DickJagger · 06/11/2023 16:47

Still nothing here, just updating for people who are also still waiting.

We are on UC but husband is also on ESA, in the support group.

Theredfoxfliesatmidnight · 06/11/2023 16:53

Nothing for me yet either, but like everyone else I hope to get it soon.

Anecdotally, I have heard that all UC CoL payments should be made by the 12th Nov. The last week is a safety net to sort out any errors, or to manually pay non-standard or difficult/unusual cases. So if you are a straightforward UC claimant and have got the text you should be paid by the 12th.

Please don't depend or rely on this info though as I haven't got it from any official source

DickJagger · 06/11/2023 17:08

There seems to be no sense to it! My sister has had hers, same town, same surname. No rhyme nor reason to their madcap plans!

DickJagger · 06/11/2023 17:09

Just out of curiosity, for those that got the text, was your text from HMRC or DWP? Mine said it was from DWP. It was actually the same number that text me when I became my husbands' appointee for his PIP.

Nov29 · 06/11/2023 17:20

@DickJagger mine was from DWP

DickJagger · 06/11/2023 17:53

I guess we just all keep waiting!

Anyone know why such a long wait/early qualifying period? Circumstances change surely? Someone could need the money now who didn't qualify in August or another person could have improved their circumstances in a few months. It doesn't seem to align with UC adjusting to circumstances.

It was 18th august to 17th September, and the payments started being made on the 31st October 6 weeks later. It’s not a particularly long time considering the systems need to work out who’s eligible and it’s not a few months.

Oh OK, I read August so was thinking August to November. I wonder why it couldn't just be added to a UC payment, qualifying amd payment in the same period. You could still have got a payment say 20 August based on July/August income, then earnt much more since, it still seems a while ago to me. I know someone who is just missing out and could really do with the money.

I also note that it's a different wait period from the spring 2023 CoL payment, where payment was made mid April-mid May based on an assessment period running Jan-Feb. I guess to deter fraud.

Helpyelp · 06/11/2023 19:05

Has anyone not had a text? I haven’t had a text from HMRC or DWP but I just checked when our last tax credit payment was and it was 26th September so we definitely got tax credits for the full period mentioned.

Nov29 · 06/11/2023 20:50

@Helpyelp I got the text this time but the COLP in April I didn’t get the text but still received the payment

cadburyegg · 07/11/2023 08:11

Got mine today. Can afford Christmas presents for the kids now.

PinkPantherPrat · 07/11/2023 09:18

Mine came through today - my circumstances should change soon as although I've been acting as carer p/t (I can't stay at theirs as they get too aggressive) it's gone beyond that point now so they need to sell up and move to somewhere where someone is on hand 24/7.

I spoke to an old employer and she said "there's an error on your CV...", I knew what it was instantly and said yes, I'd changed telephone numbers. Luckily she laughed, so I'll amend it and send it over again.
