I made a thread last time so thought I'd do another for those of us who are due to receive it. Due to be paid between 31st October and 19th November.

Anyone had theirs yet? I haven't, nobody else I know who is due it has either.

Nothing

Ironically though, though they are at this address, one of my DSs received his Today and the other is waiting , exact same surname too.
Oh well

Like every other scheme and benefit and discount, I'm not entitled to this. If you're on a low income but don't claim benefits, you are in a terrible position in this country.

Edited

Worse, we don't get it, but we had a Ukrainian living with us (who absolutely point blank refused to get a job) she got it. The hosts (not just us, all the rest as well) the ones who actually pay all the bills, they got nothing.

Got mine today
On UC in the North West.
Surname begins with P

Does anyone know what amount of universal credit you need to receive to be entitled to it? Is it everyone who receives UC or only those receiving above a certain amount?

nightnurse82 · 01/11/2023 17:48

Does anyone know if I will get mine. My tax credit claim ended on 10th September. It says on the website "You are eligible for the Cost of Living Payment of £300 if you received a payment of tax credits for any day in the period 18 August 2023 to 17 September 2023, or if you later receive a payment for any day in that period."

My last tax credit payment was 6th September will I be entitled even though my claim ended on the 10th?

Claim some benefits then? That's how they know you need help...

Mine came yesterday.

Why don't you claim then? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Are you on a low income? If you are, why don’t you apply for universal credit?

I'm in a similar situation. I applied for UC on 4th September, so my TC ended on the 11th. It would be just my luck to fall through the cracks.

Wales, ESA, surname near end of alphabet, no sign of it yet.

It makes no difference what your surname is or where you live. It's apparently completely random.

Depending on circumstances, not everyone on low income is entitled to help. I do as my DH is on low wage, we have 4 kids and I don't work as I have 2 disabled kids, so we get by on his wage and benefit top ups. But if you're single and living alone, you won't necessarily get anything beyond single person council tax support. My friend works full time as a cleaner and has had to move in with a mate to afford to live anywhere that's not a bedsit.

Depends what you class as a low income
I'm one income, min wage but not entitled to anything as no DC and I don't rent

Well there must be some method surely such as Ni numbers. I don't think they're sitting there pulling up bingo balls.

Not according to this article. It seems unbelievable to me too that there is no system at all! https://metro.co.uk/2023/04/27/is-the-300-cost-of-living-payment-being-paid-in-alphabetical-order-18683501/#:~:text=No%2C%20there%20is%20no%20specific,types%2C%20or%20some%20other%20system.

Not had ours yet.

We're Glasgow.

Single people with one income and no children have it the worst. :(
