Cost of living payment

I made a thread last time so thought I'd do another for those of us who are due to receive it. Due to be paid between 31st October and 19th November.

Anyone had theirs yet? I haven't, nobody else I know who is due it has either.

It was paid autumn of 2022, and spring of 2023 along with all the other COL payments. But this autumn, it’s been dropped.

I'm on PIP and I never heard we were supposed to get an Autumn payment.

Shame, I could have used the extra

MistyGreenAndBlue · 03/11/2023 12:53

Still nothing today. And I don't expect anything over the weekend.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Totally random. I'm on ESA so the idea that we were getting it first seems to have been wrong too. Not that I think we should or anything, but some sort of order to it would be useful.

Frankly, I can't understand why it takes a bloody fortnight to roll it out at all. It's been in the works for a year now.
Everyone should have had it by now.

LachScot · 03/11/2023 13:33

I got it at about 1:30 am along with my regular UC payment

Not received mine yet. East Midlands
i think it’s just completely random. Around 1.6m being paid per day

Deathbyfluffy · 03/11/2023 13:37

MistyGreenAndBlue · 01/11/2023 08:50

No. Not yet. I'm irritated tbh. It shouldn't take up to 2 weeks to roll this out when it was decided on a year ago. Plenty of time to get organised surely?

My payments in '22 both turned up on day 1 but this year it's been far slower for no reason I can fathom.

Oh well. It'll turn up eventually

Not half as irritated as those who are on a low income but aren’t eligible for help, I bet!

ginandtonicwithlimes · 02/11/2023 12:19

Why only those who work full time and pay tax? I work part time but not enough to pay tax.

Probably because they’re contributing to the country’s finances, at a guess.

justdoit45 · 03/11/2023 14:46

Have you had a text from tax credits today saying the dates it will be received between if eligible.

EngivitaOnToast · 03/11/2023 18:58

ESA and not had mine yet, just to repeat the post by a PP it is apparently completely random, not based on ni numbers, last names or where you live.

Terfosaurus · 03/11/2023 19:07

I got mine today. Didn't get a notification on my banking app so only noticed because I've just checked. Slightly annoying because I was in town earlier so could have gone to primark to buy the bits I wanted while I was there but never mind.

Still a weird reason to admire someone. I don't think a person's value is based on their employment. Are SAHPs or disabled people who can't work not worthy of admiration?

Everyone contributes to the nation's finances @Deathbyfluffy should we have a special class about tax just for you?

Posters can be irritated!!! Stop with the divide and conquer rhetoric. If someone is on low income and qualifies theyll get it.
I hate the underhanded 'well at least youll get it, others struggling wont '...the government have made those decisions, blame them if you have to not innocent citizens. It just perpetuates jealousy, therefore cruelty, tbh for those who need it. Tories wet dream with the divide and conquer fighting on here. Just be happy some people are receiving something they're entitled to. Fcol

Yep what about disabled people, carers etc. im off this thread, makes me so angry. People angrily salivating over someone who is getting a little help and they arent. The jealousy is palpable. This sums our country up, people judging whos deserving and undeserving, whereas anyone that doesnt work, deserves nothing. So angry.

I daresay. However, I'LL bet those people still have more money than I do on disability with no option to ever earn more.
Talk about an irritant eh?

I have worked since I was 14. I only work part time due to childcare being prohibitively expensive. I could have just stayed at home and received more UC and have people like you frothing at the mouth more but I actually like the break working gives.

Low is more about how this amount compares to needs. So number of dependants they support on that income or a single person may have additional financial costs due to a disability.

There was a calculator online that showed where you fell on the centiles with income relative to needs

1992H · 04/11/2023 05:49

I can see I’m scheduled to receive mine Tuesday on my banking app. Certainly less prompt than last time but still welcome

WhoWants2Know · 04/11/2023 06:49

I migrated from TC to UC during the assessment window, but today I had the text from HMRC, so hopefully haven't fallen through the cracks.

Honestly it's boring. I work full time, I get UC because my wages are low and I don't want someone's patronising "admiration" I'd rather be paid enough so that I didn't need UC.

To be eligible for the Cost of Living Payment from DWP, you need to have been entitled to a payment for a qualifying benefit between 18 August 2023 and 17 September 2023, or payment for an assessment period, ending between these date

So you will get it

Thank you. I wasn't sure at all. Not the brightest!

Still haven't got it just for anyone who is wondering about their payment.

Cassidyscircus · 06/11/2023 06:16

Nothing here yet, finger crossed for tomorrow. I always seem to be fairly late receiving mine

EngivitaOnToast · 06/11/2023 06:20

Just logged on to my account it's showing as pending for tomorrow big relief. Wishing everyone else gets theirs really soon.

justanothermanicmonday1 · 06/11/2023 08:13

I got mines on Friday!
