What date do they break up for Christmas?

And was half term earlier than normal?

I'm in North Yorkshire and our schools broke up on Friday with half term this coming week.

Halloween is usually in half term so it seems to be the usual time for us but they aren't breaking up for Christmas until Friday 22nd December, which is the latest it's ever been.

15th December - quite happy with that, it can be a long and busy term, and not a particularly healthy one in terms of coughs and colds.

South West here, we're still on half term, we've had two weeks this year so we finish half term 6th November. But we still break up on 15th December and back on 8th January.

We are back today and finish on the 15th which felt early but all the kids were really flagging. An extra week would have tipped them over the edge. I wonder if this year just worked out a bit oddly. Looking at term dates for next year Halloween is back in half term so it looks a week later for us. I suspect an 8 week term will be horrid though!

I imagine it’s awesome in July! Hopefully by then the horror of November is a dim and distant memory

Worcestershire school, both primary and secondary school broke up on 27th October and back on 6th November. Christmas holidays 20th December to 9th January. I prefer longer before Christmas, as the run up is always so much fun and so exciting. I rarely get everything done that I want to.
