Would you find this message weird?

If your partner, who lived with you, sent you this. Would you find it weird?

"Would love to catch you as soon as I am finished work. You looked so gorgeous yesterday"

Yes I think it might have been meant for someone else maybe, but English isn't my first language so thought I might be completely off

I replied and he is saying he meant sex. Confused as to how that means sex and whether he is saying the truth

If you replied to it - he's changing track and making it sound like it was meant for you in the first place. I'm not so sure it was.

Is catch you an expression for sex or a typo? It doesn't really make sense to me unless it was meant for someone else.

I think catch you means get together, like 'I'll catch you later'.

Ok so now he has said sex it does make sense, I've never heard "catch you" used as a phrase for sex but I'm 44 so 🤷‍♀️🤣

I think if you have no other reason to be suspicious then I'd take his word for it and the fact that he didn't follow up with a panicked text then I think it was for you.
