If your partner, who lived with you, sent you this. Would you find it weird?

"Would love to catch you as soon as I am finished work. You looked so gorgeous yesterday"

No plans of meeting before he comes now

Do you think it was meant for someone else?

MissAmbrosia · 26/10/2023 15:14

If he lives with you I'd assume the message was meant for someone else.

Needanewnamebeingwatched · 26/10/2023 15:15

That was meant for someone else x

aretok · 26/10/2023 15:15

Yes I think it might have been meant for someone else maybe, but English isn't my first language so thought I might be completely off

OP posts:
frecklejuice · 26/10/2023 15:16

Totally meant for someone else, I'm sorry.

Have you replied or has he realised his mistake yet?

surfergrl · 26/10/2023 15:16

Yes I would find that weird. Trust your own intuition on it x

funbags3 · 26/10/2023 15:17

"Would love to catch you" makes it sound like he wants to meet up.

aretok · 26/10/2023 15:20

I replied and he is saying he meant sex. Confused as to how that means sex and whether he is saying the truth

Seven7seven · 26/10/2023 15:21

Do you go out just before or just after he gets home from work? Could it be he wants to see you at home before you go out?

No, no plan of going out

If you replied to it - he's changing track and making it sound like it was meant for you in the first place. I'm not so sure it was.

Janieforever · 26/10/2023 15:24

I also assumed he wanted to have sex when he gets home.

LubaLuca · 26/10/2023 15:28

Have you seen him since yesterday? It seems a strange reference if you went to bed together last night and woke up together this morning.

VisionsOfSplendour · 26/10/2023 15:33

Is catch you an expression for sex or a typo? It doesn't really make sense to me unless it was meant for someone else.

LubaLuca · 26/10/2023 15:35

I think catch you means get together, like 'I'll catch you later'.

coxesorangepippin · 26/10/2023 15:36

He's lying

itsmylife7 · 26/10/2023 15:36

Were you looking particularly nice yesterday?

I'd read it as he thought you were and he can't wait to get home to you.

Could he be attempting to have phone sex !

frecklejuice · 26/10/2023 15:40

Ok so now he has said sex it does make sense, I've never heard "catch you" used as a phrase for sex but I'm 44 so 🤷‍♀️🤣

I think if you have no other reason to be suspicious then I'd take his word for it and the fact that he didn't follow up with a panicked text then I think it was for you.

Daffodil18 · 26/10/2023 15:56

He’s meeting someone after work who he saw yesterday.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 26/10/2023 15:58

Did he see you this morning? Why is he commenting now on how you looked yesterday? Surely he'd have told you last night that you looked hot and so he wanted sex? Or this morning?

I'm sorry OP but it does seem that he sent the message to you in error Sad

MrTiddlesTheCat · 26/10/2023 16:01

I think he's lying and it was meant for someone else who he saw yesterday. Sorry OP.

0ElectronBlue0 · 26/10/2023 16:05

Were you looking particularly gorgeous yesterday? Wearing anything different?
Did he not see you this morning?
It does seem a very strange message especially if he doesn’t usually talk like that.

shieldmaiden7 · 26/10/2023 16:10

Sorry OP I think that was for someone else.

Blackbinbag · 26/10/2023 16:12

Highly likely if not definitely not meant for you.

Redshoeblueshoe · 26/10/2023 16:13

That message was meant for someone else
