Just being nosey really, I just got a new job and I'm thrilled. I was going nowhere in life for a long time, was at a dead end in many respects, but I finally have a loving partner, my children are happy and I've just got a job at a bank Grin what is your job?

Family court adviser 😊

Claycottage · 21/10/2023 18:46

Medical Writer.

I love it.

Warehouuse · 21/10/2023 18:49

I work for a bank dealing with complaints that have been referred to the ombudsman.

JuliaJohnstone · 21/10/2023 18:49

I'm a professor in a medical area and love it, it's extremely interesting and my research results in changes in medical practice that benefit people.

I'd like to be a yoga teacher.

supermamio · 21/10/2023 18:50

Im a knicker picker 😁

JustKen · 21/10/2023 18:52

Tube station supervisor.

No day is ever the same. #severedelays

KennyMousetits · 21/10/2023 18:54

I work for a women's charity supporting women who are experiencing domestic abuse. It's bloody hard, huge job insecurity due to funding and we get paid peanuts but I love it and wouldn't do anything else!

CheekyWeeGobshite · 21/10/2023 18:55

Clinical Perfusionist. Nobody has ever heard of it. Kids describe me as a 'knob twiddler'

Bonjovispjs · 21/10/2023 19:10

Nanny, if I had my time over, no way would I do this, not because of the kids, but because of the parents.

PlipPlopChoo · 21/10/2023 19:14

Transpondster.

tofeckwiththis · 21/10/2023 19:15

Health and safety advisor in education.

10/10 would not recommend.

GymWanker · 21/10/2023 19:17

@PlipPlopChoo 🤣

I’m a writer. Fiction books, and content for small businesses. Guess which pays better 🤣

All2Well · 21/10/2023 19:27

I've been a teacher of some sorts for all my adult life. Currently a senior lecturer at a massive university but hate how few contact hours I get with my students and struggle with the admin side, pressure to publish or formally research and my ADHD can't cope with the open plan office enviroment in my department. Also increasingly cynical about HE.

I'm considering going back over to state school education but as a HLTA or SEN specialist as it's supporting the kids that I love, not the admin and business stuff. Massive paycut but I'm really not enjoying work these days and want to do something that is genuinely more rewarding. I do some tutoring on the side so that might help top up a low paid TTO job.

MyHalterEgo · 21/10/2023 19:28

I’m a journalist, specifically a commercial editor on weekly and national digital platforms.

Previously I have edited a number of local newspapers.

GoingUpUpUp · 21/10/2023 19:33

Congratulations on your new job OP!

I love hearing about other people’s jobs, I find it fascinating.

I'm a Commercial Director for a house builder. Only woman in the business in the role. Quietly very proud of myself

FizzyStream · 21/10/2023 19:37

Junior manager in the NHS. Very hard work when there is no money and not enough staff to provide an adequate service for patients. It's soul destroying tbh.

Gettingbysomehow · 21/10/2023 19:37

Senior nurse for 20 years. NHS podiatrist for 20 years after that. Roll on retirement.

BoredAuditor · 21/10/2023 19:41

I'm an Auditor. I'm stressed but also feel deflated and bored and need a change of career.

I'm also drawn to one that helps others.

Justcashnosweets · 21/10/2023 18:09

Nurse, 21 years qualified.

Are you a fan of Bottom by any chance ?

Pocketfulofkeys · 21/10/2023 19:46

For the last 20 years I have been the learning support practitioner in the education department of an adult male prison. Love my job .

Justcashnosweets · 21/10/2023 19:47

@Marveladdict Haha, yes! I wanted TrickorRuddyTreat but it was already taken.

Mayhemmumma · 21/10/2023 19:53

Safeguarding lead and social worker in a college - nice enough role that fits with kids. Miss 'proper' social work.

Passmeaplacard · 21/10/2023 19:56

HR Manager, high pressure but I’m at a point where I get paid very well and have good flexibility

scoobydoo1971 · 21/10/2023 19:58

Trained as a medical epidemiologist and used to freelance, until bereavement made me inherit the family business. Now I am a Director of a holiday rental company. I absolutely hate it, and cannot wait to sell up and return to my former career.
