Just being nosey really, I just got a new job and I'm thrilled. I was going nowhere in life for a long time, was at a dead end in many respects, but I finally have a loving partner, my children are happy and I've just got a job at a bank Grin what is your job?

Foster carer, long term, to a 3 year old with complex needs (my own children are adults and in their 30s they support what I do).

Business Support Manager for an NHS subsidiary company. I love how varied my role is plus I can WFH which works great for me.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 21/10/2023 17:29

PA/EA for corporate companies but central government. Used to be legal sec for 8 years.

Retraining in HR/paralegal undecided which yet but DB is setting up his own small business and if this takes off prob takes 5 years or so he’s asked me to run the admin/accounts side. So that’s my long term goal if possible.

Lecturer in health and safety. I also teach first aid and safeguarding on the side.

Lattims83 · 21/10/2023 17:39

Software engineer. I like it a lot, I can work from anywhere as long as I have a laptop, I don't have to interact with people and I usually watch TV while I work as I'm 100% remote. I also get paid in the top 1% to solve puzzles all day, what's not to love?

recyclemeagain · 21/10/2023 17:39

Manager of a local authority children's home for kids aged 13-17. I've also taught teenage parents and pregnant teens for the NHS, loved it but the funding was removed so the job came to an end.

Love it, no day is the same, pleasure to work in dedicated team of people

ClematisWren · 21/10/2023 17:46

Clinical Senior Lecturer, working for both a University medical school and an NHS Trust.

Mixture of management, teaching, research and clinical work. I love it, no two days are the same, it’s always interesting, but always far more work than available time so I struggle to look after myself well.

One teenager and a (full time clinical consultant) husband. Elderly parents on both sides needing support. House and garden exist in a state of mild to moderate chaos!

emmetgirl · 21/10/2023 17:48

I’m currently unemployed, but I’m a qualified actuary with around 12 years experience, we’ve just moved countries which meant having to qualify again, so it will be weird going back to early career when I get back to work after christmas.

PilatesPeach · 21/10/2023 17:59

I'm a crime writer and no, you won't have heard of me. Main perk is that my mother tells people her daughter kills people for money.

I also manage a small portfolio of rental properties.

MrsTulip · 21/10/2023 18:29
