I keep seeing mixed reports. It’s really unsettling not to know.

I guess that humanitarian aid will have to wait a little longer. Israel has bombed the road leading to the crossing again...

Because HAMAs, who don't want any aid to come into the country and help Gazans and have fired rockets from the area, again, so the IDF have attacked Hamas.

This is how much Hamas hates ordinary Gazans.

We lock them on because Hamas. We bomb the shit out their children because Hamas. We steal their land because Hamas. We destroy their schools in the OPT becasue Hamas. We shoot children in the OPT because Hamas. It's the answer to everything isn't it? That amd accusing a whole country of hating another. Seriously grow up.

I think it's you who needs to grow up and accept the reality of the situation and accept Hamas hate Jews more than they care about Gazan children, the evidence is everywhere. Take your blinkers off!

@FreeCoathangers yes they do get billions in aid and yes it seems that a lot goes to Hamas (who almost every poster agrees is a terrible terrestrial group) but that doesn’t make the Israelis innocent victims. At the end of the day the county belonged to the Palestinians who 50 years later only live in a very small part of the country and are openly discriminated against by Israel. You can say that they are not oppressed but there are literal examples of laws created by Israelis to discriminate against Palestinians.

Given their track record over the course of the latter part of the last century and the start of this century. I hold the UN in contempt and they are a compromised organisation they do not have the support of the Global population.

Only two states are not members of the UN: Palestine and the Holy See (Vatican City). Palestine have applied, but are not a fully recognised state by all members. So they may be compromised, but they're the best global organisation we have to make these rulings.

Yep, I agree, and look at the shithouse state the world is in.

My eyes are wide open, trust me. I see Israel. And more and more people every day see Israel. The crowds are growing. People voices are getting louder. The gaslighting isn't working anymore. The victim narrative isn't working anymore. Soon it will just be Israel standing there in their shame surrounded by the dead bodies of their victims. For a country that cares about its image almost as much as North Korea that is going to hurt.

No where have I said that Israel are innocent,

The area didn't belong to the Palestinians. It was an area that had a majority Arab population with Jewish and Christian minorities. There was no Palestine state, no Palestine government, no Palestine currency, no Palestinian flag.

Just re-reading and the moral and ethical contortions that some people who support the Israeli govt have been saying to justify and excuse the IDF and Israeli govt behaviour on this thread are quite something.

There are videos available of Hamas launching rocket attacks from Rafah. These were taken by the Associated Press so probably unbiased.

Yup and I feel the same way with people bemoaning the IDF attacking schools despite knowing that Hamas was using it as a base and had received a warning from the IDF to evacuate.

@SomeCatFromJapan

They are still researching snd will get there

EasterIssland · 19/10/2023 10:08

i left a pic yesterday but I can see it’s been missed by many. Yesterday there were airstrikes near another hospital yesterday. If you watch the video the noise is quite similar to the one from Tuesday

@RoyalImpatience now you are just being obnoxious. You also didn’t answer my question so clearly your knowledge isn’t up to par.

crumblingschools · 19/10/2023 10:10

@FreeCoathangers where do you think people should evacuate to? Where in Gaza is safe?

RoyalImpatience · 19/10/2023 10:10

Also we are lucky in the west and take our democracy for granted. We get outraged if we see an mp is taking the piss on expenses claims or jobs for friends (ppe).

It's hard to appreciate what life is like under a regime that you cannot critique, that uses you, that doesn't care about you.
Some good books are out there on the minutiae of life under such regimes, life and swath in shanghai, sold swans...

Some foray into life in north Korea, son of hammas and so on.

We can't blame one side or the other based on noises. All we can try and do is act responsibly (ie, not post any old tat from Twitter) and hopefully the truth will out.

I'd advise both sides to stay as far away from Twitter as possible.

crumblingschools · 19/10/2023 10:10

@FreeCoathangers where do you think people should evacuate to? Where in Gaza is safe?

This is the issue. If the IDF say "move south" then Hamas will set up operations in the South and that will result in attacks on them by the IDF.

It's entirely intentional by Hamas.

What looks better for Hamas, have Israel declare a safe area in their country - or Israel killing Gazans in an area they said was going to be safe.

I know people say "yes, I know Hamas are bad" but people are going to have to start accepting how bad they actually are and how they use the Gazan people, at will, to promote their cause.

Flowersfield · 19/10/2023 10:14

Everyone keeps banging on about Hamas this and Hamas that; its their fault Palestinians are being bombed, its their fault they live in an open prison, its their fault Palestinian's food, water and electricity is controlled. Its their fault this has been happening for over 70 years ( Hamas only came into power in 2007). These people have had enough of being abused and oppressed and an oppressor will NEVER deem the resistance of the oppressed as righteous or acceptable. Someone the other day explained the situation between the two countries similar to being in a relationship with a narcissist psychopath they (Israel) destroy you completely and then cry victim and make you out to be the bad guy.

Were they time stamped for shortly before Israel bombed the road again?

Even if they were though, you don't bomb the road that is literally being repaired so humanitarian road can get in? Israel said less than 24 hours ago that they would not block humanitarian aid to civilians, and goes Jan on it the following morning...

swirlingabyss · 19/10/2023 10:15

@FreeCoathangers

here is footage of the "warning" IDF gives before bombing.

Just a minute later residents supposed to be out of the building. Imagine you are on 5th floor, how can you leave. imagine it's the middle of the night and you're with your family high up then you're trying to get downstairs and are bombed.

In recorded, verifiable incidents, residents were given just 57 seconds to leave before it was bombed. Not enough time.

Not to mention the actual "roof knocking" warning has killed many civilians and taken out buildings in and of itself.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roof_knocking

Also, if Hamas are "hiding in schools" and you give a warning surely Hamas members will leave with residents after the supposed warning if they don't want to be bombed, which kind of defeats the purpose of bombing in the first place. Such a ridiculous premise to "get rid of Hamas".

I'd say your narcissist psychopath analogy also works well with the Arab nations surrounding Israel.
