I keep seeing mixed reports. It’s really unsettling not to know.

IDF has lied many times previously and hamas is a terrosit organizatjon anw so nobody believes them
Unless a complete independed investigation happens no one will be able to prove this

In the meantime why wont they accept himanatarian aid to go in ... no one answers this

Because they haven't handed over the hostages. Meanwhile, civilians continue to suffer and die.

immigrant002 · 18/10/2023 23:20

immigrant002 · 18/10/2023 23:20

Interesting minidoc that I found that explains the background to the establishment of Israel.

In the absence of other threads - which keep getting removed due to manipulation by interested parties - I'll post it here for anyone that's interested.

That's fine, but you do accept that Jews lived in the current area of Israel - which was known as Judea, long before Christianity came into being and even longer before than when Islam came into being?

How far do you want to go back? All they could do at the time was work in the present moment and the area was inhabited by Arabs. Every place on earth was once inhabited by other people. That doesn't give people the right to come along and oust them. It may have been accepted in ancient history, but not so much now because modern people are supposed to be able to restrain themselves and abide by international law etc.

It's good for clicks and I agree with the sentiment, however, 3300 people have been killed in Gaza, an awful number, however, therefore not killing everyone and therefore not a genocide.

800 scholars and practitioners of international law, conflict studies and genocide studies would disagree with you on the intent for genocide.

not to mention the genealogical tests proving palestinians have been present (alongside jewish people) in the region for many thousands of years.

You're right, how far do you go back? You could go back to when the Arabs invaded the area and took Jerusalem for their own, causing the Crusades, some people might say the Arabs were the actual colonisers of the area but it seems acceptable to a lot of people that after the holocaust Jews shouldn't have moved back into the area because arab people had settled there, despite there being plenty of land for everyone.

flufferknutter · 18/10/2023 23:45

Trying to empty Gaza of its inhabitants, either through bombing them or starving/dehydrating them to death breaks international laws.

Perhaps if the concept of peace was understood, from the very beginning, then these things would not be happening now. As it is, it may be too late. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Hamas wasn't born in a vacuum.

Again, that's fine, but when the Palestinian population is growing very quickly and has grown enourmously since the 90s and so far 3300 have died in this current conflict I'm not going to label it as a genocide of the Palestinians.

The Arabs were offered a two state solution many times, 6 I think, each time the Arab people refused.

You do realise that the people in that area are all related right? DNA proves it. They're literally fighting and killing their cousins. Both groups belong there. Peaceful establishment of an appropriate government would have prevented all subsequent bloodshed. Instead, it was a failure of proper, systematic thinking through of the process that led to this. Lack of foresight.

Attention to detail matters.

They obviously had their reasons. The two state solution offered was a mess. They're entitled to their opinion. They're not second class citizens who should be grateful for crumbs.

That's fine, so please don't give me any fluff about peace.

The first offer was masses of land for the Arabs and a tiny bit of land for the Jews. They still said no, it was the Jews willing to accept crumbs.

The main reason was that they hated Jews, nothing more, nothing less. This remains the same to this day.

if 800 scholars of law, genocide studies etc from prestigious universities all around the world won't change your mind ok.

NB the Israeli population and the population of the entire world has also grown massively in this time frame you mention. Conversely with regards to Gazans, what has changed massively is that despite growing in number (like the rest of the world)m the amount of land that the 2.2m population of Gaza have to live in an area has been fenced in, without being allowed out, a 25m strip, one of the most densely populated places in the world that they are not allowed to move in and out of. Whereas the Israeli settlers have encroached on palestinian land such as in West bank, and are free to come and go as they please unlike Gazans, and the areas of Israeli land taken away from Palestinian allocated land has grown massively in this time.

Why do they hate Jews? They used to live alongside each other with very few problems. Alongside Christians as well.

So you'll need to explain to me how a population growing in number also equates to it's genocide.

Whoever picked up and hid all the bits of shell shrapnel know.

Strange how they seem to have totally disappeared . . .
