Do we actually know who bombed the hospital in Gaza yet?

I keep seeing mixed reports. It’s really unsettling not to know.

I heard someone being interviewed on the World At One who said that it would probably be possible to examine the debris and decide what caused the blast. However, he also pointed out that there was no chance of independent international investigators being allowed in to do this so we have to accept there will not be a definite answer.

Overall, most of the reporters seem to think the balance of probability is that it was a misfired Hamas rocket but I don't think we will ever know for certain.

Why would Israel bomb a hospital in Gaza? To what end?
Try to keep bigoted arguments out of the discussion and use intelligent reasoning.
Israel would have nothing to gain from such an attack.

the same logic could be used to ask why Israel would bomb
civilians evacuating outside of an evacuation zone and while they were leaving as they have in the last few days, Why also would they cut off water, electricity, internet, food and aid from millions of helpless people for days leaving them starving, dehydrated and without sanctuary? says something about the Israeli govt, doesn't it.

Wow you are denying that the atrocities happened in Israel inflicted by Hamas. Showing your true colours.

That people think Hamas is a more reliable source of information than Israel is mind boggling.

people were on here last night baying for blood before there was any evidence. When israel said babies had been murdered and decapitated people didn’t believe it until they were forced to release pictures of their dead.

A synagogue in Berlin has been firebombed. University Pennsylvania there have been calls for another genocide. Before Israel even started retaliation, there were chants of “fuck the Jews” in London and “gas the Jews in Sydney”. It takes absolutely nothing to stir up anti semitic sentiment and actions and people need to be a lot more responsible before they start accusing Israel.

Totally mind boggling

Suddenly terrorists whose aim is to wipe Jews off the map are purveyors of truth

Why on earth would anyone believe Hamas by default?

This is utterly insane.
So any proof is doctored unless it supports your conclusion.
Terrorist sympathisers make me sick.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 18/10/2023 18:18

Yes, the hospital Chapel but it's not just the Chapel, look at the thread.

The damage is not consistent with an Israeli bomb which frankly would have done much more damage to the buildings and the car park

Here's the crater.⬇️

So Israeli bombs come in just one size?

If they want any paper thin excuse to express their anti Jewish bigotry.

They're responding to their worst ever terrorst attack, it's not just random.
And at least some of the bombings of fleeing civilians were roadside IEDs ie more Hamas fuckery.

And I say this as someone that desperately hopes that the water is put back on and that the poor people caught up in this get some sort of relief soon. But Hamas have as usual behaved with a complete lack of care towards the civilians they are supposedly governing. They could probably stop a lot of this, right now, by handing back the hostages they kidnapped, for instance.

SomeCatFromJapan · 18/10/2023 18:36

What, you think they have special little dinky ones that make a crater that could be done with a pickaxe?
Sorry to be facetious but this is such a reach.

Struggggggling · 18/10/2023 18:36

EasterIssland · 18/10/2023 18:18

Why would they request hospitals to be evacuated ? Can I have some intelligent reasoning about why they wanted wounded people , babies in nice etc to be evacuated

It's located in the North, Israel wants to push all the Palestinians south towards the Egypt border

Noicant · 18/10/2023 18:37

Yeah it’s interesting that the burden of proof expected from Israel is much higher than the burden of proof from a Hamas.

Hamas chuck out random numbers of civilian casualties but you know what until an independent authority goes in, conducts an investigation and actually verifies the information provided I call bollocks. I think it’s made up, I think that loads of this is just mocked up for the cameras.

See how that works.

Struggggggling · 18/10/2023 18:37

StarbucksSmarterSister · 18/10/2023 18:22

Why aren't they allowing people in to independently examine the scene?

If Israel agreed to a temporary ceasefire so independent experts could go in there and check it all out do you seriously think Hamas would allow it?

Maybe they would maybe they wouldn't, but the world would be watching

WanderingWitches · 18/10/2023 18:37

From BBC Verify

"Justin Bronk, a senior research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi) in the UK, agrees. While it is difficult to be sure at such an early stage, he says, the evidence looks like the explosion was caused by a failed rocket section hitting the car park and causing a fuel and propellant fire."

Well no, you see this guy has an IDF dossier clutched in one hand and probably a shekel in the other 🙄. We all knooooow it was the Israelis because reasons….

Mind blowing, mumsnet has become mind blowing to me.

Interesting thread about why what Israel is saying might not add up

ige seen another person also saying there is a second light whilst the rockets are being thrown on top of the hospital

Isn't it just.

Any Israeli bomb would leave a much bigger hole than that.

The taking of sides has created anti-semitic and islamaphobia to rise the atrocities hamas commited were terrible but they do not justify the genocide Israel is undertaking.
People on both sides need to denounce and condemn what is happening on both sides

Islamaphobia? Not by the Jews. But yes, I’ve seen lots of anti semantic words on these threads, and anti Jew bigotry on our streets at the weekend. The Jews in the UK have behaved with dignity, unlike the pro Palestinian groups.
