It's worried about the rise of anti-semitism. Do you think the same thing will happen here?

The head of Zaka has confirmed the "rumours" as well as adding that he saw a pregnant woman with her stomach cut open with the unborn baby still attached to the placenta stabbed. The mother had been shot in the head and he could only hope she'd been shot first.

This is actually disgusting - this is a heinous, heavily reported crime that happened to a pregnant Palestinian woman at the hands of the Israeli forces during the Sabra and Shatila massacre of Palestinian people in 1982. It makes me sick to my stomach that propagandists are using this story and talking as if Israeli soldiers are amazing heroes. They’re barbaric. Have some fucking shame.

Worried about the "Rise in antisemitism"

What- Saying that Israel shouldn't murder innocent Palestinians. That's "antisemitism" these days...

There is a new and increasingly popular definition of antisemitism, which I believe has even been formally accepted by some councils in the UK, that criticising Israel is anti-Semitic. It’s the ideal way for Israel to shut down any critics.

That is an outright lie.

NewmumOct · 13/10/2023 00:10

Did you see these images? You seem certain this has happened

etmoietmoietmoi · 13/10/2023 00:10

NewmumOct · 12/10/2023 23:30

There is no evidence that babies were beheading. All fake news !!!

Are you just going to keep shouting this until you see the pictures for yourself?

Anti semitism is embedded in large parts of the U.K.. so successfully that plenty of people do not see it. And it's barely discussed.

Yeah, despite having some Jewish ancestry, I genuinely wasn’t aware of anti-Semitism in the UK and I’m grateful to the posters on another thread who explained it to me. If I lived in London instead of the West Country, I might well have seen it first-hand.

I suppose I doubted it because I’ve never met anyone who wanted to be associated with Hitler or the Nazis in any way and in arguments, people have a tendency to try to associate their opponents with Hitler, AKA Godwin’s Law.

NewmumOct · 13/10/2023 00:11

Not to mention most videos and images of death or tortured victims are being protrayed as Israel when in reality they are Palestinians

MrsSkylerWhite · 13/10/2023 00:12

@ticketstickets

So very sorry for what you and your family are going through.

Does it occur to you for a second that Hamas terrorists know of what happened in 1982 and that they decided to take ‘revenge’? Or that a deeply cut throat on a dead baby or toddler might leave their head hanging in such a way that it looks separate from their body in still photos?

Sabra and Shatila was a horrible massacre that was not perpetrated by the IDF. They were blamed for not stopping it though.

Either way, why do you think the same atrocity can't happen again???

Oh give over.
You must know how Israel have targeted Palestinian civilians for decades including school children. I'm so sick of the ignorance on here.

How about you give over. Israel targets Hamas. Hamas always target civilians, as do all terrorist groups.

I'm actually sick of your ignorance.

How dare you talk about Israel killing innocent civilians without mentioning the torture and murder that Hamas has commited against Israeli's this weekend and the hundreds of other times they send over rockets into civilian communities. Sick of your hypocracy. So sick of your misinterpretation of facts.

MushroomQueen · 13/10/2023 00:17

Lots of throwing how bad each side is in here. From what I can see the people in Gaza have no control over Hamas, the people there have been treated like shit for many years by Israel, my friend visited Palestine a number of years ago (His father is from there but moved away many years ago) and he described it like living in a cage for Palestinian children to have to cross very dangerous areas and travel huge distances and checkpoints to go to school each day, constantly worried about being bombed. The things that have happened are absolutely horrendous to innocent people from Israel, inhumane and disgusting, what I do find insane is that the world seems to be condoning the siege on other innocent people. knowingly killing many innocent people who are unable to leave, lack of food and water will eventually run out or theyll be bombed to smithereens. Hamas is using them as human shields i think, they won't help the people. It feels as though both sides are prepared to go to any lengths and the innocents on both sides will be the ones who pay. It makes me feel quite sick to think of those babies in Gaza, hungry, thirsty and being bombed with no let up, it makes me sick to think of the kids who were killed and taken hostage. I can't even watch the news at the moment, it is just awful in all ways.

It’s really not.

Have a look at the current working definition of anti-semitism, and how many local authorities have adopted it. It very much stifles criticism against Israel, hence why it’s a controversial definition of anti-semitism.

CaughtUpInYourWishingWell · 13/10/2023 00:19

@NewmumOct hundreds if not thousands of anti-Semitic people do though. And history has shown that when conflict increases in the middle east, anti-semitic attacks rise.

I wish Hamas hadn't attacked - this is on them (not innocent Palestinians or Israeli's)

Queucumber · 13/10/2023 00:12

Why are you spreading disinformation? This has been debunked and is frankly heinous co-opting of this poor woman’s death.

we can condemn Hamas for their disgusting actions without making shit up.

Meta123 · 13/10/2023 00:20

@ticketstickets very sorry that your children are experiencing fear for being Jewish. It is unfair and although I generally support Palestine I in no way want Jews to feel like that is an attack on them as it isn't. Innocent civilians suffering on both sides is awful.

FOJN · 13/10/2023 00:21

I have seen footage of various pro Palestine demos from around the world and whilst some people may be there to protest against the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza it is undeniable that some people attending have expressed very clear antisemitic sentiments, "gas the Jews" can hardly be interpreted as legitimate criticism of the Israeli government.

Queucumber · 13/10/2023 00:21

People like you are all over the U.K. though. Denying the horrors of what has happened, leaping in with your ‘whataboutery’, putting the responsibility for the actions of the state of Israel onto Jews as a whole. Do you think it doesn’t have real life consequences for Jews living in the U.K.?

Ok, let’s say that is happening. It’s plausible. All the terror acts being carried out by Hamas are revenge for all the terror acts carried out by the IOF over the decades. Eye for an eye.

Even if we only start the timeline at 1982 when this woman and unborn baby were murdered by Israeli soldiers - why haven’t Israel been classed as a terrorist state for the past 40 years? There is so much documentation and condemnation of ongoing terror and extreme violence. Why are people talking about them like they’re morally superior heroes?

Lovepeaceunderstanding · 13/10/2023 00:23

Circumferences · 12/10/2023 22:11

I don't think there have been any pro Israel demonstrations in France. They're probably too scared to leave home.

Or rather, why would they need to demonstrate when the entire French establishment supports Israel.

@Circumferences , maybe because Isreal has suffered a terrorist attack recently? Seems reasonable to me b🤷‍♀️

Notanotherhousepost · 13/10/2023 00:23

The worst thing the west ever did was create the state of Isreal in 1948. It was never going to end well.

I know there are historical and allegedly biblical reasons (another reason why I'm not religious since islam, judaism and christianity all share the same origins apparently in terms of religious books - and please correct me if I'm wrong).

It all boils down to my sky fairy is better than yours and always ends up in death.

Religion is one of the biggest causes of death in human history.

Why we can't just let us live the way we want to without religious intervention is beyond me.

etmoietmoietmoi · 13/10/2023 00:23

@AgaMM Show my a link that confirms local authorities have adopted a policy that claims, in your words, that "criticising Israel is anti-Semitic"? I assume you mean the IHRA is the source, yet it just does not say this. So again, what you said was a lie.

Here's the policy? Perhaps you could show me exactly where it says what you claim.
https://www.holocaustremembrance.com/resources/working-definitions-charters/working-definition-antisemitism

What is antisemitism?

About the IHRA non-legally binding working definition of antisemitism The IHRA is the only intergovernmental organization mandated to focus solely on Holocaust-related issues, so with evidence that the scourge of antisemitism is once again on the rise...
