There is no apartheid within Israel. Palestinians /Israeli Arabs travel on the same buses, work in the same businesses, use the same health services and hospitals. Live in the same towns.

It is a simple question.

Israel has stolen land and resources. Israel has set up blockades and checkpoints. Israel has prevented Palestinians from moving freely and fromtrading.

Whilst no one should condone the events that happend on saturday as it is truly despicable that either side can so easily kill innocents,

The answer to this question is easy.

Do you consider Israel a civilised state? Do you want to add to the siege to the list of war crimes that the International Court in Hague had already been asked to consider. Do you want it to go down in history that Israel was it self responsible for genocide?

The accepted definition of genocide includes:

The funding for the weapons will not have come from ordinary citizens- the average salary is about $7,000- that doesn’t buy many weapons, and half the population is made up of kids. The funding will come from others in the Middle East and further afield - who are likely to respond to recent events by further opening up their coffers.

The lack of effective leadership in Israel have undoubtedly affected the ability to move forward to a 2 state solution- but Israel has firstly not showed good faith in the expansion of settlements (60 % of the West Bank is under Israeli control) but also has not been willing to compromise and meet Palestinian demands - eg right of return of Palestinian refugees stuck in refugee camps.

If you are genuinely looking for ways to improve the lives of the people of Gaza then start there, because for the last 17 years they have had to fend for themselves as Hamas choose to spend aid on rocket launchers instead of medicine and vital infrastructure.

But Israel are providing vital services and support to Gaza. That is the whole point here!!
