Which episode did you find scariest?
Mine was Harry Called. I literally felt petrified driving to Tesco at 11am listening to it in beautiful sunshine.

Not an actual episode but I looked up the photos on Danny Robins website which a woman had come across on her phone. She and her husband kept seeing a mysterious little girl but these photos seemed unconnected. The photos had been taken whilst the woman and her husband were out doing the school run. DR had put the photos on his website so the you wouldn't accidentally come across them in your newsfeed or whatever. I was intrigued of course and looked up the photos. When I opened them I physically jumped! Creepiest thing I have ever seen! Shock

Btw in case you aren't aware there's an uncanny tv series starting next Friday on bbc2

bemorebernard · 05/10/2023 19:29

Listened to them all during the night when I couldn't sleep!

The one where the family rented the house and kept hearing an animalistic creature on the stairs , noises like someone trashing the house , and the voices of the relatives calling their nick names

The lad at but where his hipster is outside and see the entire house light up yet he is inside in pitch dark ,

That was scary !

And oh bloody hell Ken - the halls of residence in Ireland

They're the creepiest two !

AtomicBlondeRose · 05/10/2023 19:32

This week’s is pretty scary! And of course Harry Called and “bloody hell Ken”.

and those photos shit me right up!

AceofPentacles · 05/10/2023 19:38

The one in the Scottish shelter in the middle of nowhere was pretty scary

Peterpiperspickledpepper · 05/10/2023 19:39

I really enjoyed the harry called one but I now think it was just too good to be true.
Remember thinking there were a lot of holes in the story.
Liked the one set in the bothy in Scotland but I’m sure I’ve read on the internet that the story wasn’t quite as it was portrayed in the end.

ShipshapeShore · 05/10/2023 19:42

I've switched to The Witch Farm for now and I'm really enjoying it!

I'm going to see 2:22 A Ghost Story next month. Looking forward to that a lot.

AthenaWhite · 05/10/2023 19:43

anyone got a link to the photos mentioned?

Windywuss · 05/10/2023 19:45

The one with the Bothy in Scotland where he went back to Glasgow and more weird stuff happened....and it turned out I used to live in the flat next door....the whole street has a history of paranormal activity....! 🫣

WitchyFingers · 05/10/2023 19:46

The photos are on the uncanny website . They do look creepy but then someone on the Facebook group messed around with them and it's clearly just one of the children.

The first part of the Scottish bothy one terrified me. With hindsight, listening to it as it got dark outside when I was home alone was not perhaps the best plan.

The style of it is starting to annoy me a little now. 'Sadeyed IS a mumoftwoinherforties. She haslongbrownhair, is short, slim, wearingagreyjumper, the last person you'd expect to HAVE a story like this... But here it is.'

The Witch Farm REALLY annoyed me. I won't do spoilers, but there were quite a few moments when I thought 'hang on a second, that's quite crucial information you've just skipped over there.'.

You're going to love it. I want to go and see it again but it is on a well deserved tour.

WitchyFingers · 05/10/2023 19:52

Yes it's all getting a bit silly now. I'll still be watching the TV show though 😁

MrsToddsShortcut · 05/10/2023 19:56

I haven't plucked up the courage to look at the pictures yet; are they really scary? I love Uncanny but I'm one of those that are fine and a skeptic during daylight, but when I'm on my own at nighttime in the dark, I start thinking 'But what if...'.

I found the episode with the Blue Man quite creepy. The episode about the old woman's house that used to be a hotel was okay, but I was spooked by the friend who looked at the house from the outside and refused to go in - as if he'd seen something inside, but refused to say why.

The episode with the family on holiday in the fishing town in Canada (sorry, can't remember the name) full of holes. If I woke up to the sound of my brother screaming at his kids in the middle of the night, I'd go and see what was wrong. At the very least, I'd ask him what had happened the next morning as I'd be worried - especially as she didn't think it was supernatural.. The idea that none of them discussed any of it until they'd left the house and were in a cafe miles down the road doesn't make sense,

piscofrisco · 05/10/2023 19:56

Luibelt (the one with the Scottish shelter).
And I liked the bloody hell ken one. Also one about a woman living in student digs who had a sort of premonition or aural vision about someone attacking her flat mates and ended up saving them, that was something to do with a ghost in her room.

Those pictures that go with the story about the ghost that came home with the couple from holiday are so weird and unsettling!

I love uncanny. Looking forward to the TV thing next week and seriously toying with going to the tour.

I like the phosphorescent nostrils though.

piscofrisco · 05/10/2023 19:59

Yes that one with the family with the animalistic nosies on the stairs and the son was scary.

I loved the Battersea Poltergeist too.

I can really recommend 2:22. I've seen it twice in London and Bath.

MrsToddsShortcut · 05/10/2023 20:02

Just seen the pic! How old were their kids? I must admit, Danny Robbin's breathless 'But what kind of tool makes a mark that LOOKS like skeletal footprints?!' was a bit Hmm. My immediate response (I was talking at the radio) was 'probably loads'. I mean, what are the odds that you are aware of the imprint of probably loads of quite niche building tools?

Glassnearlyempty · 05/10/2023 20:03

Love this podcast! Can’t wait for tv show next week! Fri 13th

ReadySalty · 05/10/2023 20:13

The Hannah Betts one, especially the part where the mother locks up the bedroom.

flippyflappy · 05/10/2023 20:45

Bloody hell Ken was the scariest for me. I've just listened to his audiobook. I'm very fussy with voices on audiobooks, but I like his voice and style of reading.

MontyJames · 05/10/2023 20:58

Oh I love Uncanny! I thought the Witch Farm was spooky , but the husband was behind a lot of it as he had fannyed about with such matters as a younger man. I would have been out of there ! The one with the NI students was terrifying ! So creepy ! The one about the wee girl following the family back from France I don't know. That spooky "child" photo - I have seen that somewhere before and I don't know where ! The skeletal foot thing was scary though ! I did wonder if they had got an old scan photo and blew it up and imposed it on the chair . I don't know if you can do that and even why they would do that. My husband has seen his fair share of ghosts. I keep an open mind.

GreyCarpet · 05/10/2023 21:20

I listen to them in bed to fall asleep to. None of them are scary but I like to listen anyway.

flippyflappy

What's the audio book?

I can't listen to many podcasts because I find the voice of the narrator so irritating. I like Danny's voice though. Soothing and relaxing and it sends me to sleep!
