Why is Rebecca Loos the villian still, she wasn't the one who was married!

I remember at the time how DB came out of it all smelling of roses and remember Loos said she has no choice but to tell her side of the truth. She's still the villian and he's still come out of it smelling sweet!!!

Admirable, but I was laughing at the pomposity of ‘when one moves in certain circles’ esp when applied to posh and becks.

And all this ‘I’m sure you’ll understand why I don’t talk about it’, while repeatedly talking about it on this thread. If one needs to keep one’s trap shut, then keep it shut!

I do think there's something in it about professionalism and discretion in some circles.

I don't believe that there's no scandal or relationship issues that have happened with a lot of A Listers, but lots of them seem to live a life away from the cameras, you'd not know their children if you walked past them in the street, their staff aren't leaking gossip left, right and centre.

I can imagine that showing yourself to be not only careless or loose lipped, but someone who actively seeks to profit by selling scandal is the sort of thing that makes your name mud. Nobody would want to work with you again in that capacity.

If DB did show his and RL text exchange to his mates and they were laughing about it, I think he deserves for her to go to the papers. Discretion works both ways.
Iirc RL has said she was tipped off that he was doing this, by one of the other staff members who was with him.
If that's true then he was purposely humiliating both his wife and her.

Haha yeah, let's not forget she's apparently related to Piers Morgan. I guess being low life scum runs in the family. Not sure how selling a sex story and nasty personal details to the papers was protecting her reputation though.....

I think it was pretty clear what a selfish asshole DB was/is from the series, he'd seem to settle somewhere, VB would spend ages sorting everything out to move the whole family and get them all settled and then he'd tell her 'I'm moving clubs and countries next week' without appearing to have any discussion with her or thought for his kids. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he thought he could have his cake and eat it. I thought even some of the other players intimated what a party boy he was saying he liked this drink or that.

Even in the series I felt like there was a bit of something between DB and VB that wasn't good. He made a big thing about her going for a facial - could just be banter but it seemed like there was an undertone that ran through the programmes. Him saying he wasn't appreciated for staying up cleaning the kitchen, just little digs. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they were only together for the sake of the kids and were living fairly separate lives.

They are all colossally boring.

I agree, we all knew he'd had the affair. We all knew VB had to make the decision to press eject or stick with him knowing we al knew.

And then, RL went on big brother. Nobody would have known who she was if she hadn't been the woman that had an ''entanglement'' with David Beckham.

I don't think she's a villain but now that she's a mother, living with somebody in Norway, in a stable relationship, I think she was nuts to come out and make a comment after the documentary. I think their comments in the netflix documentary did not blame her. If anything it came across like David was too needy to be alone.

There was no need for her to have a REACTION to their netflix documentary. Foolish of her to believe that one was required.

Ok something happened between them and it wasn’t all down to her , but she decided to make the ‘affair ‘ public and sell her story to the newspapers.
It must have been what , 20 years ago ?
I thought it was all done now.

She earned her 15 minutes of fame out of it despite not being a celebrity herself.

She now decides to come out the woodwork and talk about it again. We’ve got a generation of people now who weren’t even born then, and wouldn’t be aware of the story now.

Again both are to blame but who really cares about something between a footballer 20 years ago?

To be fair to her, she had actually got on with life and faded from the public eye.
She's only back in the public eye now because the Beckhams' decided to bring it up again.

If you're going to lower yourself to have an affair you shouldn't be selling stories about it, she was fame hungry and clearly still is, unfortunately no one was really interested in her. He is vile for having an affair also of course, and he is the one responsible for causing upset with his family.

That's a pretty spurious argument. Nearly everyone watching his documentary knew he was talking about her.

DB chose to do the documentary, presumably for financial reasons or professional vanity (none of which are wrong but they're not altruistic either). If RL wants to have her say in response, that's her choice and I don't think poorly of her for doing so.

Frankly, the we're so in love Beckham brand comes across as mostly a financial construct and maybe the two-faced display of love while he (allegedly) still regularly cheats on his wife rankles with RL.

I don't think that much of him to be honest since the documentary, I'm not sure what he wanted from the documentary but what I took from it was how selfish he was and how VB did everything to ensure he could fulfill his dreams rather than it being an equal partnership. I think at the time many people incl myself wanted to think it wasn't true TBH, as you say people are in love with the Beckham brand. I think how he was treated was awful early on in his career but he redeemed himself to most, but at the expense of his family.

Just because I think he was a dick doesn't mean I think she isn't wrong for selling her story. I just can't imagine selling a sex story that my family and friends can read. I can't think anything good of her. She may have lost her job but then surely that could be the same for any PA/nanny role who sleeps with their married boss, she knew before getting into it with him.

Of course it's her choice, she can do as she pleases. It's just embarrassing really IMO.
